Chapter 11
Not only had Gu Qingfeng’s familiarity with many songs overawed Ouyange Ye, but it also made her fake Young Master Bloodflame a bit more real . And of course, most importantly it saved her face for the time being .
But she had not become conceited with herself due to this, because she was aware that a fake could only be a fake! If things continued like this, Yun Hong and Ye Hui would’ve definitely tried every possible method of finding out the truth . And if they revealed even a small flaw, their whole sham would’ve fallen apart .
Therefore, Ouyang Ye took this opportunity and left with Gu Qingfeng, intending to change seats . However, the musical gathering was about to start and the venue was already overcrowded so the only open table she found was in a corner .
With no other choice left, she had to sit in a rather poor location, but as long as she avoided Yun Hong and Ye Hui, she was content .
Gu Qingfeng, on the other hand, did not mind this at all, as long as food and wine were on the table, he was happy
“Thank you so much for before! Come, I’ll give you a toast!” Ouyang Ye was very happy and excited .
When she thought about the ugly faces of Yun Hong and Ye Hui, she almost wanted to give Gu Qingfeng another kiss on the cheek . After she drank her wine, she asked, “I really didn’t expect you to know so many songs . It’s really incredible! How did you do it?”
“How did I do it? Hmm, how should I say it…I used to be very addicted to music for a long time, and I’ve read a lot of sheets of music and heard lots of songs . That’s how . ”
Back then, Gu Qingfeng started studying music just because he wanted to obtain the favor of a woman, but unwittingly he became engrossed in this field and started searching everywhere for all kinds of sheets of music, and even ended up digging the immortal caves of some experts that were proficient in music .
“Hey, be honest with me, how high are your musical attainment and what poems can you play?”
“Musical attainments are extraordinarily high, and I can play so many poems that even I’m not exactly clear about the number . ”
“Yeah, right, you sure can boast!”
Ouyang Ye gave him a supercilious look and said grumpily, “Oh, so you really think you know so many songs and your attainments are very high? Every song contains a lot of fingering styles, strings, and spiritual arts which require a lot of time to learn . ”
“And this is just for a song . A poem contains a lot of songs, and if you bring out the profundities within a song, it’ll take you at least three or five years . ”
Since music was one of the ten immortal arts, it was naturally not that simple .
As Ouyang Ye said, bringing out the profundities within a song required knowing a lot of fingering styles, strings, and also various spiritual arts . The reason why music was regarded as the most difficult art among the ten immortal arts was simply because it was much more challenging to learn than martial skills, magic arts, and sword arts .
Gu Qingfeng smiled but didn’t say anything, he looked at the crowded venue which caused his eyebrows to raise slightly and asked, “Why hasn’t this event started?”
“What’s the rush? It’s about to start . ”
“Then what happens?”
“What happens? Everyone will go on stage and play . ”

“That’s it?”
“What else do you want?”
“So everyone just goes on stage and plays some songs? Is this called a musical gathering? What’s the point of it?” Gu Qingfeng really couldn’t understand .
“Hey, don’t say it like that . This is a great opportunity for us young musicians . ”
Gu Qingfeng was somewhat puzzled, “Why?”
“Playing on the stage can increase your popularity and value . Later on, the price for playing a song will increase, and it would be easier to earn spiritual stones . ”
“I see . ” Gu Qingfeng nodded and expressed his understanding .
Relying on music, or on other arts to make a living was not embarrassing, after all, cultivation required a lot of resources . Buying potions, magic treasures, maintaining formations and all other things required spiritual stones . An average family simply could not afford i . Back in the days, Gu Qingfeng had also sold his arts when he lacked spiritual stones .
Gu Qingfeng asked rather interestedly, “So what’s your value?”
“I…ah…not much, generally, when I’m playing for people, they give me 1,000 spiritual stones . ”
“1,000? So much? ”
Gu Qingfeng’s youthful cultivation years belonged to the end of the Near Ancient Era when the spiritual energy was extremely scarce and spiritual stones were also very valuable . In his impression, 1,000 spiritual stones were absolutely not a small amount in the mortal world .
He wondered whether the spiritual stones depreciated because all things recovered after the Tribulation of Heavens passed, or Ouyange Ye’s musical attainments were that high .
“Of course! I’m somewhat famous in the Bluesun Domain . ”
“So are your musical attainments high?”
Gu Qingfeng saw that her cultivation base was just at the Connate Realm, and had not attempted her Foundation Establishment . Although this cultivation base was the best among her peers, it was nothing more than that .
Albeit, the progress of one’s cultivation base was not dependent on musical attainments, but still, music required talent, and just as she said before, bringing out the profundities within a song was very difficult .
“Eh, m-my musical attainments aren’t very high and can only be described as average, but I am special because I can bring the profundities out of two songs made by the Sovereign
“So you’re worth 1,000 spiritual stones just for bringing out some profundities?”
Every song contained a lot of profundities, and if you were able to bring them out, they could lead to a spiritual resonance . If you were able to bring out the concept within a song, it was capable of making people dream throughout the ages .
What makes Gu Qingfeng surprised was that this little girl was worth 1,000 spiritual stones just for bringing out the profundities of some of his songs . This was too absurd!
“What do you mean ‘just for bringing out some profundities’?” Ouyang Ye gave him a vicious glare, “This Sovereign’s songs that I play are the most profound and popular songs of our age . Out of all the musicians present here, only a few of them are able to bring out the profundities within the Sovereign’s songs, do you understand?”
Ouyang Ye threw a melon seed in her mouth and said, ”You know Grandmaster Wen Zhu right? He is the leading figure in the Bluesun Domain’s music circle . He has spent his entire life studying Sovereign’s songs but even so, he has only been able to bring out the profundities within a dozen of the Sovereign’s songs . ”
“Moreover, he is the only person in the entire Bluesun Domain that can bring out the concept within the Sovereign’s The Wind Rises at the Azure Mountain . ”

“Oh, are Gu Tianlang’s songs that difficult?” After carefully thinking about it, the songs he created back in the day were indeed a bit strange, but they shouldn’t have been so difficult .
Ouyang Ye looked at him as if he was a country bumpkin, “You memorized all those songs and yet, you don’t even know how hard are the Sovereign’s songs… Considering your musical attainments, I advise you to spend more time practicing instead of memorizing so many songs, because they are all useless if you can’t play them . ”
Gu Qingfeng shook his head and was about to say something when suddenly, there was a commotion among the people at the venue, and many people stood up and applauded .
What was going on?
“Grandmaster Wen Zhu arrived . . ”
Ouyang Ye stood up with excitement, raised her small head, clapped her hands and greeted him enthusiastically, “This event will be personally reviewed by Grandmaster Wen Zhu . Hehe, if I can get Grandmaster Wen Zhu’s praise, my value will definitely skyrocket . ”
Since entering this villa, Gu Qingfeng had heard the name of Grandmaster Wen Zhu no less than ten times, and he also wanted to see what kind of person this legendary master was .
He looked over and saw a white-bearded and haired old man dressed in a clean white robe, walking amidst the cheers of the crowd . He was accompanied by a blue-haired girl that was about seven or eight years old .
Weren’t they that pair of grandfather and granddaughter from that garden?
“Is he Grandmaster Wen Zhu?”
“Yes!” Ouyang Ye applauded enthusiastically and nodded, “I heard Grandmaster Wen Zhu will choose an excellent young musician to play with him this time . How nice it would be if I could play a song with Grandmaster Wen Zhu . ”
Not only had Gu Qingfeng’s familiarity with many songs overawed Ouyange Ye, but it also made her fake Young Master Bloodflame a bit more real . And of course, most importantly it saved her face for the time being .

Steamforged Sorcery [A Steampunk LitRPG]
This is a fantasy story in a steampunk setting, not a sci-fi. The Great War ravaged the face of the earth many years ago. In the years that passed, the world rebuilt, mixing machinery and magic to form something new. Great blimps took to the sky, belching steam and smoke as metal cities sprouted like weeds below. Angel, a talented mage, scours the desert endlessly in search of lost knowledge. When it unexpectedly falls into his hands, he quickly comes to realize that the world is far larger – and far more deadly – than he ever could have predicted. But no amount of danger is going to keep Angel from seeking out greater strength and traveling the world, claiming all the greatest treasure that it has to offer. To most, the desert is a dangerous threat to be feared. To Angel, it’s a land of opportunity, waiting to be exploited. Steamforged Sorcery is, as the title suggests, a LitRPG Steampunk story with heavy focus on magic and scenery. The main character starts out relatively strong (but far from overpowered) but will eventually grow in strength to incredible levels. It is moderately paced and does not progress at ridiculous speeds. Release Schedule: 1,500 words daily Monday-Friday

What do you wish for?
Norman hated his life. His peers ignored and bullied him. His mother nagged. His father was never home. Norman desperately wished for a miracle, but his prayers went unanswered. Until one night. **************************************** Note: This story is going to be very short. I would recommend reading it all at once. This story started out as a challenge I set for myself. I've recently felt bogged down because of the need to write more. That's why each chapter will be only 300 words long. Exactly 300 words long. At this point, I've pretty much written the whole thing, so I'm very confident that there will only be eight chapters.

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
