The next night all three of the otters met on the steps of the Ka-pi farum. Right next to the riverbank, the silty soil looked untouched save for a few small green plants. A sign out front said "Beware of-" and then half of it was cut off. "We used to have a beast problem, but then druids like our friend," a serving mouse said, appearing out of nowhere, "Took care of the situation." All three of the otters had their hackles raised as the mouse led them up to the outside deck, which overlooked the mostly empty farum field. River was there waiting for them, with four mugs ready to go. "I thank you all for coming," River said, "and if you havbe no objections Chip I can speak about what I've learned over the last two days." Chip nodded sniffing the strong, earthy tones of the ka-pi. The bench seating around the booth was comfortable and the chair backing was low as to give an all around view of the place. The serving mouse had returned behind an indoor-outdoor bar. "There are five judges, in a nod to the coalition races all wanting a part. One fox, one rabbit, one mouse, then one bird and one mole. I was able to find out everything I could about everyone except for the mole, as they are a mystery to me. I'm going to need more time with that one." Chip nodded. "Of course the mouse is Baron Cornflower and his preferences are widely know to be more sweet than savory, he is a mouse after all. So I think that you could do a baked treat of some sort, maybe fold in a fish substitute?" Sams eyes widened. "He could bake that treat in the shape of a fish on a stick!" she said,"And that could then... we could make them all like that." Chip held up a hand. "If we're doing that we'd need a mold, and that would be like double work. I don't even know the rules of the competition yet or how to enter. The bird and the fox... do they eat fish also?" Sela pushed Chips hand down. "I could make you a fish mold," he said, "I've got a friend in the smithy." River sighed. "If you ever decide to become a druid, Chip, I hope that he serves you well," River said raising her glass, "alright, so we can make fish on a stick and we can make vegetarian fish on a stick for those other judges. Forgive me for not knowing this, but do moles eat fish? That would simplify it, right?"
