Jessica at Outreach Center (After Tyrone Left)

Jessica laid in Tyrone’s room sniffing at anything she could that held his lingering scent. Xandra laid on the floor, shaking her head in disappointment at Jessica’s moping.

Xandra sighed “I used to think you’re one of the strongest girls I know but Tyrone has left for about thirty minutes and you’re already sniffing his pillows like a weirdo…”

“You wouldn’t understand… you’re no-”

Xandra blew her top before Jessica could give the same reply for the millionth time “I swear if you fucking say I won’t understand until I am older… I’ll beat your ass inside this room… I am pretty sure that sniffing all the clothes of someone you just choked and tossed into a taxi is universally weird for all relationships…”

Jessica hopped to her feet threateningly causing Xandra to freeze thinking that she pushed Jessica a bit too far, but Jessica just deflated and slumped back onto the bed sorrowfully.

“I don’t care if you beat me… life is meaningless without Tyrone!” Jessica moped sadly “Oh my gosh, I already miss the sex… we use to do it on the floor just next to where you’re lying down…”

Xandra hopped to her feet like someone had shot a bullet in her ass much to the amusement of Jessica.

Xandra quickly realized that she had been tricked “You darn harlot… this room needs disinfectant…”

Jessica smiled slightly, raised her hand, and pointed to the door in hopes that Xandra would exit the room and leave her to mope for all eternity.

It had been about thirty minutes since Tyrone left or rather, was forced to leave but even the thought of Tandy and Tyrone together made Jessica’s emotions unstable.

“Calm down!” Jessica whispered, comforting herself since unstable emotions somehow made her mutant abilities more potent.

The more Jessica thought about Tyrone, the stronger her senses became and the more voices she could hear whispering into her ears from all over The Outreach Center.

“You can go get him back!” Xandra encouraged desperately, hoping that Jessica could make that selfish decision for them both.

Jessica sighed sadly “I can’t and you know I can’t… Tyrone has been through too much already… We would just be more burdens...”

“Speak for yourself!” Xandra murmured upset.

Jessica closed her eyes and took a deep breath to clear her mind of everything Tyrone-related but all the action brought her was more memories of her time with Tyrone.

“Awww fuck! Those things always work in the movies…” Jessica complained.

Xandra shook her head and carefully relocated from the floor to the bed “You need time to mourn and stuff like that…”

“He’s not dead…” Jessica added.

Xandra shrugged “Remember my first theory was STD’s so we can’t say anything for sure…”

Xandra quickly rolled off the bed just as Jessica’s fist passed over her head creating a loud thud when it impacted the bedhead.

“Your mutant ability should be called ‘bitchy’…” Xandra complained with hushed whispers but Jessica noticed and Xandra rolled off the bed in a hurry “Huh… what is this doing here?”

“What?” Jessica asked, rolling off the bed and snatching the Executive’s phone from Xandra’s hand “I borrowed it to use the ‘Find My Phone’ App…”

“Why is it beeping red?” Xandra asked confusedly.

Jessica was about to reply but the blaring red of the Executive’s phone caught her attention. Then as if a program had been activated, Jessica’s eyes turned blank and she hopped from the bed and headed to the door of the room.

“Jessica! Hey Jessica!” Xandra shouted, walked towards Jessica, and patting her on the back.

Jessica swung around, balling her hands into a fist, and struck at Xandra’s head with all her strength.

Xandra’s eyes opened wide in fright and the next thing she felt was her body being tackled to the ground and avoiding the blast of wind that accompanied Jessica’s fist that should have impacted her head.

Tyrone rolled with Xandra on the ground and kicked his feet outwards, sweeping Jessica off her feet causing her to fall and hit her head slightly on the doorknob.

“Ty! TY….? Heaven?” Xandra stuttered unintelligibly not understanding what was happening.

First, Jessica attacked her with the obvious intent to kill, and then Tyrone, who should have been gone, suddenly appeared and saved her from death by similarly hurting Jessica.

“I don’t know…” Tyrone whispered, releasing Xandra and hopping to his feet to check on the unconscious Jessica.

Tyrone placed two fingers on Jessica’s wrist and felt for her pulse “She is going to be fine but we can’t stay here! Get packed!”

Xandra didn’t even have time to prepare as Tyrone just tossed a duffle bag in her direction and hurried to gather everything he could into a duffle bag of his own.

Xandra propped herself up and walked carefully to Jessica’s side, placing a hand on her head and confirming that everything was alright “What’s happening?”

“We can’t stay here…” Tyrone replied in a hurry as he stuffed everything he could into the bag “This place is changing us… Two days ago when I got in a fight with Tandy’s boyfriend, I wanted to kill him which is something I would never do…

About a week ago you were an innocent sweet kid but two days ago, you began cursing a lot… that is not uncommon but a completely unexpected attitude shift… it’s not normal and I think I know why.”

“I think I killed the three people in the alleyway…” Jessica whispered after waking up from her brief head hit causing both Xandra and Tyrone to freeze in disbelief.

“You what?” Tyrone asked, his voice hardening and eyes widening.

Jessica smiled bitterly “I think I killed those three guys. I think they tried to rape me or something… I always think about it but every time I came home to The Outreach Center; however, it would suddenly seem less important…”

“A-are you s-s-saying there is something wrong with this place?” Xandra asked, her voice breaking and her body shaking uncontrollably from fear.

“Right now I don’t know anything other than the fact that the three of us have to get out of here!” Tyrone responded, grabbing the passports and identification cards off the ground, reaching into his closet and retrieving his mother’s last letter, and stuffing it into his pockets.

Jessica hesitated a bit before deciding “I think I know how to find out what is wrong…”

Outside in A Van Spying

Dr. Cecilia watched everything occurring inside The Outreach Center with an amused smile. Everything was turning out better than she ever hoped.

“This should be easy tactically speaking but the kids present a problem…” The Military Expert whispered.

“Why would they present a problem?” Dr. Cecilia asked.

“My men are not used to killing kids… which means I will have to kill some of my men after the operation is finished…”

Dr. Cecilia frowned but did not comment, just kept watching the screen with apt attention.

“Should we move out now?” The Military Expert inquired.

“NO…” Dr. Cecilia shook her head “If they explore a bit and find something they should not, then our operation becomes legitimate and we can intervene in the best interest of Essex Corporation.”

The Military Expert nodded and exited his van to brief his men in the other nearby vans.

Tyrone, Jessica, and Xandra Walking Down The Hallway

Tyrone and Xandra walked a little behind Jessica as she led them down a familiar hallway they would pass by every single day.

“I’m sorry…” Jessica whispered as she stopped walking and broke down mentally, crying all the tears she could muster.

Tyrone hesitated for a bit and ultimately decided to be a man. He walked towards Jessica and embraced her in a tight hug, occasionally giving her pecks on the cheeks until the tears dried up.

“You have nothing to apologize for… I love you either way but right now we can’t waste time… I think this place makes us aggressive but it also makes me sick… do you know where we are going?” Tyrone inquired a bit hurriedly since he could feel slight trembling returning.

“Yes!” Jessica nodded, pointing to the wall directly in front of them “Just now I lost control of my body and entered a daze but I knew where I was going and what I needed to do…”

Jessica walked towards the wall and touched it with The Executive’s phone. The wall rippled like water and then vanished entirely before everyone’s amazed eyes.

Tyrone walked in front of Jessica and entered the room first to check if it was safe. When he gave the signal that everything was fine, Jessica entered, and then Xandra.

“It’s completely dark…” Jessica murmured grabbing Xandra and Tyrone by the hands as an extra measure to keep them from losing each other.

“I can see well enough...” Tyrone replied, briefly searching for a switch and finding it on the north wall.

The moment Tyrone flipped the switch, the entire dark room lit up with Three-Dimensional Projections of complex equations.

The entire room was white and there was nothing inside but the complex equations that danced around the room like a beautiful symphony.

“What are these?” Xandra asked amazed at the beautiful display of art and technology.

“Maybe we should leave right now guys…” Jessica suggested, feeling a bit angsty “A secret room is enough evidence for me to run away. Especially since an Executive’s phone is responsible for opening said room…”

“Survival?” Tyrone muttered confused.

“WHAT!” Jessica and Xandra both jumped in fright, their eyes darting around to see what they had to survive against.

“NO…. I m-m-mean…” Tyrone stuttered confused “I understand some of these equations that are floating around…”

“How can you understand them? They are moving really fast and look like gibberish… We should just leave…” Jessica stated and Xandra agreed.

Tyrone shook his head and pointed “No, I mean… if you look over there at the blue floating one – that equation is the Survival Function… it’s a bit skewed but I recognize it…”

Tyrone frowned and pointed at several other equations floating in the air “That one is the Persuasion Formula but it looks interconnected with the medical formula for an anesthesia variant of some kind – Enflurane/Chloroform mix.

A little above those formulas you see the Minimal Surface Equation… but it is also interconnected with biological equations that describe the genetics of a certain type of animal… the last equation I can recognize is Special Relativity Formula…”

“So we have Survival, Anaesthesia, Surface Equations, and specific types of animals?” Xandra asked a bit doubtful of Tyrone’s equation skills “What does that give us? Survival on a surface when you are dizzy and patting an animal?”

“No… I don’t think so…” Jessica murmured, something at the back of her mind connecting the dots like a detective “Tyrone… what is that one over there…?”

“That looks like a DNA sample…” Tyrone replied, gesturing to that equation and surprisingly it expanded to show a profile “Kevin Thompson, Code Name: Killgrave, DNA Sample acquired with permission…”

“Tandy’s boyfriend?” Xandra asked confused but Tyrone’s and Jessica’s faces were grim.

“He was there that night…” Jessica whispered, holding her head as she strained to recall a memory “He was there at the bar, on the opposite end sitting. I think he followed Tandy and I avoided him when he tried to talk to me… I think—maybe he is a mutant…”

Tyrone nodded “The first time he touched me… he told me to ‘apologize to Tandy’ and I almost did without even meaning to… I think he can fuck with our minds a bit…”

“If that’s true and he can fuck with minds… Jessica was basically sleepwalking just now to come here. What if he messed with her mind to bring her here… doesn’t that mean we should leave as soon as possible?” Xandra shouted, pacing about in her spot.

“We can’t leave without gleaning some information from here since we’d be headless … not knowing what we are up against…” Jessica said as she thought hard about how everything was connected “Are there any other equations you can recognize Tyrone?”

Tyrone strained his eyes to examine each equation shifting in the air “There is one for Reducing Effectiveness over a certain period of time… and also chemical formulas to increase stress level along with a chart that tracks the menstrual period of every female here…”

“So….” Jessica mused, gathering her thoughts as she went along “So they are checking the survival or special creatures… NO!... Mutants over a period of time… the anesthesia is a rare variant that can dampen Mutant abilities while other chemicals make us violent and stressed…

The Surface Equations are used for bubbles so it could be a calculation for a barrier of some kind where special relativity applies. Meaning that a barrier that attracts mutants into it while shifting our priorities. Then they check the ovulation time for females because they want to make more…”

“More of what?” Tyrone asked in fright.

Jessica stared Tyrone in the eyes frightened “I think every child here is a mutant who has their abilities suppressed to be bred like cattle.”

Tyrone was quick to pick up the frozen Xandra with his newfound strength, grabbing Jessica’s hand and darting back to his room.

Tyrone tossed Xandra on the bed to wake her from the shock and pushed Jessica to the other duffle bag “Grab it! We are leaving right fucking now!”

“But the other kids?” Xandra muttered weakly as she hopped off the bed.

Tyrone and Jessica froze in realization and shame. Though they loathe to admit it, they were fully prepared to run with just the three of them and no one else.

Tyrone and Jessica cared for everyone at The Outreach Center but that didn’t mean they could help everyone escape. A large escape could lead to being noticed that much sooner.

“Ty-” Jessica hesitated and that gave Tyrone enough time to interrupt her selfish thoughts.

“WE TAKE EVERYONE!” Tyrone grunted fighting his own mouth to form the words properly.

Within a couple of seconds, Tyrone and Jessica each carried a duffle bag with Xandra leading the way in front as they made a silent walk for the rooms downstairs.

“I hear something…” Xandra paused and whispered.

Tyrone frowned “I am sure it was noth-”

BBBBBBOOOOOOOMMMMMM---BOOOOOOMMMM—BOOOOOOOOM

There was a grand explosion that blasted away Tyrone, Xandra, and Jessica.

The entire Outreach Center was on the verge of collapse, the hallway structures falling apart and becoming rubble that fell from above.

Tyrone and Jessica hit their backs against the wall due to the explosion but luckily, Xandra was blasted toward Tyrone and his body managed to act as a cushion that absorbed both impacts.

Everyone momentarily passed out but Jessica was the first to regain consciousness.

“Ty – Tyrone?” Jessica stuttered, rubbing her eyes to try and get the duss out.

When Jessica succeeded in cleaning her eyes, she was greeted with the sounds of screaming, the shaking of the ground, and the falling of rubble as the hallway’s structural integrity grew more compromised.

“Wake up!” Jessica shouted, shaking Tyrone’s shoulders until his eyes twitched a bit and opened.

“What happened?” Tyrone inquired, similarly rubbing his eyes only to be greeted by the same sight as Jessica.

“Let’s go Xandra…” Tyrone said, propping himself up with Xandra in his arms “Xandra? Xandra! Xandra?!”

Tyrone and Jessica froze as they noticed the pole that had penetrated through Xandra’s lower abdomen.

Jessica gripped the pole in a hurry but Tyrone grabbed her hand in time “Don’t take it out, we could make things worse that way…”

Tyrone placed Xandra in a bridal carry, situating the pole in a way that it wouldn’t be disturbed by his movements.

Tyrone and Jessica darted through the crumbling hallway in search of any hint of light peeking through from the outside. The duo realized that they could not help anyone now that they were also facing death.

The screams of the injured kids brought tears to Tyrone’s and Jessica’s eyes but they still trudged forward determined to make it out and get Xandra's medical attention.

“Breach… breach, breach!”

Bang

Bang

Tyrone and Jessica heard synchronized shouting followed by a series of gunshots that had no doubt killed some of the older kids at The Outreach Center.

Even more terrifying for the duo was that the noise was obviously coming from just a turn in front of them. Tyrone paused his steps and slowly began stepping backward, Jessica also mimicked his action.

Still, they were a bit too slow as two soldiers decked in military gear spun around the corner, and came face to face with them.

Tyrone stared into the eyes of the soldiers and they did the same, already in the process of squeezing the trigger but also hesitant since Tyrone was the objective of their mission.

Whoosh

The soldiers were so hesitant and focused on Tyrone that they forgot all about Jessica.

The moment Jessica saw the soldiers frozen, she grabbed a piece of rock near her feet and tossed it towards the shoulders with all the strength she could muster.

Puchi

Puchi

Tyrone stared with wide eyes as the stone Jessica tossed tore through the neck of the first soldier and embedded itself into the forehead of the second soldier.

Still, Tyrone was familiar with violence so he didn’t dwell on the matter as much as Jessica obviously did since she stood rooted in her spot.

“Carry her…” Tyrone ordered carefully handing Xandra over to Jessica.

Xandra had already woken up but she bit her tongue and closed her eyes to avoid screaming from the pain caused by the pole piercing her abdomen.

Tyrone quickly searched the bodies of the two soldiers and cursed his luck when he realized that the guns were too complicated for him to use.

“Get the guns so we can leave!” Jessica complained, careful not to move so she wouldn’t irritate Xandra’s wounds.

“The guns are biometrically locked or maybe they have an implant or something… it won’t work for us…” Tyrone yelled back but took the gun anyway “I guess the kids around the corner were right – when you don’t have bullets, you still carry the gun just in case…”

“Let’s go!” Jessica whispered anxiously, turning around to head in the next direction.

“Wrong direction…” Tyrone said “Guys like these are professionals. They split up and sweep everything and meet at a central location… our best bet is to leave in the same direction they come from since that area should be clear…”

Jessica frowned, braced Xandra a bit more firmly to her body, and followed after Tyrone as he strode forward.

“I am afraid…” Tyrone whispered, his body shaking and his face pale “But I gotta protect you and Xandra so… no matter what happens, just make sure the two of you make it out alive… I don’t want to lose any more family in this lifetime…”

“Then y-y-you’re go-nna be dis-dis-disappointed…” Xandra said as she opened her eyes “Eve-ryone gets lost e-e-eventually… just make sure you find them again…”

“Shhshshshsh…” Jessica hushed Xandra, preventing her from speaking.

However, Tyrone and Jessica could both tell that Xandra’s time was numbered given the look on her face as the overall feeling she gave off. It felt like approaching death.

Jessica choked back her tears “Ty… I think Xandra…”

“Wait…” Tyrone raised a hand, stopping Jessica from continuing “I hear something coming towards us…”

Tyrone’s mind became focused and his fear was amplified by the darkness inside of him which caused his senses to work in overdrive.

“Get back!” Tyrone shouted, rushing forward while simultaneously pushing Jessica and Xandra behind him.

Pow

Pow

Pow

Tyrone stared ahead, creating a stance with his body that protected both Jessica and Xandra behind him.

He was sure not to leave any gaps where the bullets could pass by him without passing through him.

The world slowed and Tyrone watched motionlessly as three bullets slowly moved through the air in front of his face to end his life before it even truly began.

Behind him, Tyrone could feel Jessica’s grip tightening around his shoulder wanting to switch their positions but everything was happening too fast.

Tyrone closed his eyes expecting a swift and easy death, just happy with buying Jessica and Xandra a little more time for an unlikely escape.

However, three seconds passed and Tyrone didn’t feel the pain that would usually accompany bullets.

Tyrone’s eyes snapped open.

The first thing he noticed was his change in position. Previously, he was standing in front of Jessica and Xandra, but now he stood some little ways behind them.

The second thing Tyrone noticed was Jessica’s body tilting to a side, and then she fell backward and he extended his hands to catch her and Xandra.

“Wh-wha-what?” Tyrone stuttered, looking at the bloodied Jessica and Xandra in his arms.

Tyrone counted three bullet holes, two in Jessica’s head and one through Xandra’s neck… however, he was still in disbelief since he was obviously standing between the bullets and Jessica.

Tyrone sunk to his knees embracing Xandra and Jessica, his mind raging with a darkness that was about to explode.

“You – you y-you d-did this?” Tyrone asked, his voice deep and scary as he glanced at the two soldiers steadily walking in his direction.

The soldiers did not reply but the darkness around Tyrone was slowly becoming denser and denser until…

Bang

With a gunbut to the head, Tyrone blacked out….

Military Expert and Dr. Cecilia (In Van After Raid)

The Military Expert drove the van in absolute silence. His heart was a bit heavy after being forced to kill at least three of his men earlier.

Jessica had also killed two of his men which left him with a major deficit in manpower after what should have been a simple operation.

“What was that earlier?” The Military Exert asked Dr. Cecilia “I get that this kid is a possible OMEGA Level Mutant but… that darkness around him didn’t seem mutant to me…”

Dr. Cecilia also frowned “Based on my observation, his latent mutant abilities are currently in the process of awakening…”

The Military Expert frowned “He is waking up…”

Dr. Cecilia frowned but didn’t move.

The Military Expert looked at the awakening Tyrone “Sorry kid… the paycheck was too good. Blame your rich girlfriend’s father for selling you out… that’s why you don’t ever put your dick in a rich pussy…”

Tyrone frowned, his mind too jumbled to understand anything, and soon, he had blacked out once more with another gunbut…
