For Claire time seemed to become longer as the talons of the bird came closer to her she kept shooting.

An ear-piercing scream rang out, even if the feathers of the bird were becoming stronger as it evolved, against bullets, it wasn't an opponent at all.

Claire seeing the huge body of the bird's falling toward her, couldn't rejoice as the bird's talons didn't change course and instead came faster and more precise, rolling to the side using her legs to distance herself as best she could.

gritting her teeth as her face got scratches against the rough surface of the ground as she tried to keep an eye on the falling bird.

Stopping her rolling body as she felt like she was being pinned to the ground, not thinking twice she took out her sword from its scabbard as she tried to get a proper position to fight back.

And slashed vertically using the gravity to make as much damage she could, to pierce through the fingers of the bird covered by scales, the size of a human's fingers.

her sword got stuck between the scale, the bird tried to fight back flapping its bleeding wing in her direction, a huge gust of wind hit her face making it harder for her to breathe as she wasn't able to get time to breathe in.

With renewing vigor she stood up and ran back among the group of soldiers shooting and fighting in close range with evolved beasts not caring for the soldier a few feet from her who was still unaware of the death of the bird and just as she left a group of two to three rats ran at the corpse of the bird and in their wake killing the man.

In this small scale battle in the middle of the street, things were starting to go downhill, the soldiers although they took as any munitions they could and only fired when they had a clear angle on the evolved beasts attacking charging at them, were starting to lose ground, the massiveness of the evolved beats and there innate strength being higher than human, started to pay off.

As some of them started to understand to protect themself from bullets, and at the forefront of the fight against the evolved beasts a group of ten men could be seen able to fight head against a group of ten or so evolved beasts from dogs and cat the size of cheetah, and leading them was a burly man soaked in blood with a deep wound on his arms and shoulders.

The others soldiers around him looked at their captain with tears-filled eyes.

" Captian I've received a report it seems like the group of civilians that followed us are fighting with us but they want to talk with you "

"Do we look like we have time to talk fall back say the man to regroup by group's of ten and to start stopping using their gun and to retreat slowly " the captain in question, gritting his teeth as the throbbing pain on his arms made him want to faint, blood loss not helping either said two of his man passing in front of him trying to block the attack of two dog's while some cats tried to sneak around.

but I sensed particular energy that even if I wanted it would be hard to notice the signs of the energy of the dog-man, and as I focused more the more I could feel it, it was indeed them.

My minding racing not sure how many of them appeared so suddenly, cursing myself thinking that with only the three of us we could have changed something.

taking a step back, I kicked him on his belly sending him to hit the second one who was coming back, and in a swift motion, I run on them slashing at the exposed belly of the first rat, stepping on him, and piercing the eyes of the second who was bout to push aside the first one.

As I lost my footing falling on the ground, rolling as I protected my face, I stood up looking around me and saw even more beasts.

' No time for this, where are they '

this time even my bloodline who was for the fight at every moment didn't seem to try to fight back my will as the flow of energy responded to my orders it spread faster all over my body.

and in less than a second, I left the place starting to try to track the energy signature of Lisa and claire.

Claire was the easy one to find, as I saw her avoiding a group of ten beetle using their two huge mandibles to restrain her movement ganging up on her, quickly going to help those beetle were so strong and their shell so hard that it was like I was fighting against the dog man, as I had to go closer to them to be able to deal serious damage.

I told Claire's the situation, as she tried to catch her breath with her hair looking like she just came out of the shower but instead covered in stranger green and blue blood.

I didn't want to ask her where these drops of blood come from, and from the look, she gave me it was like if It was because of me she was in this pitiful state but I couldn't understand why she had a smile on her lips even though she looked at me like that.

I could only channel my energy to my back but it was so hard to do, that I gave up on it otherwise I would have to focus completely on it, and the surrounding beasts wouldn't miss this opportunity.

Suddenly, I stopped moving as I sensed that the group of humanoid beasts which were all at least at level six mixing between the group of beasts.

" it's too late they are here, ahhh where is she damn it !!"

Seeing under my breath, as I continued to run my legs staring to hurt after having to avoid so many time beasts attack.

" Chris let's go we can't find her like that, we almost looked all around the right side of the street and she isn't here, I might be unable to protect myself if we keep going on like this "

Claire said as she looked at me, we were slightly near the building with cars behind our back catching our breath, and from there we were able to see how the situation became out of control.

Claire hearing Chris's words looked at him in the eyes for a good five-second, her mind thinking why she even followed him for so long as she looked at those born eyes, with slight blue iris, her heart beating faster as she felt like his question had a deeper meaning.

But all Claire could see was a crow of beasts and men, fighting as scream and growl rang out, her body shivering at the scene once more, she didn't feel frightened when she was in this crowd but now that she took a closer look.

she laughed at herself as she thought of her wounds as only slight scratches, with wounds of at least one to two centimeters deep.

As she took a glance at Chris back as he started entering the crowd once again, she almost stopped in her track his back looked like a plate of cold cuts.

His leather armor hung on him but it had lost all its utility with how many claws marks it had.

" What are you waiting for let's go"

Snapping from her thought as she heard chris calling her, but seeing that the man wasn't even bothered by the state of his back, made her want to ask him if he was even human because of this level of not caring for his body is too much even for her.

But she still followed him, the man passing through two cats who were about to kill two soldiers who were on the ground, their arms ripped off as blood spurted all over the ground, as they screamed for help.

Chris not trying to waste time went head-on on the group of beasts this time, not trying to keep his strength since the more time he waited the more Lisa's chance of surviving get smaller.

Just like the two people, man and woman started to pierce through the group of beasts, their sense of pain going numb at point, as they started to work with each other to finish the beasts in swift action.
