After ten minutes of rest, I felt that the gaze on us although still there was less strong, and decided to move at this time sensing the surroundings one last time and sensed nothing I took a deep breath trying to calm both excitation and the small hint of fear of the unknown beast, the other already digested quickly since they didn't eat that much just enough to let them keep going and not faint.

Philip on the other hand, this time didn't respond to his wife as he looked at his son that was with Sarah and Emily and smiled at them thanking them for taking care of him, but what? did she wanted him to say that she was right, then what could they do alone, looking at her he shook his head telling her it wasn't the time to argue about staying or not in this group.

although she tried to be very silent, everyone could still hear her, but no one really cared about their dispute as it became normal last night it was more worst as they kept arguing until no hours, making people unable to sleep, so in a certain way they felt more relaxed to hear the two of them arguing even during this kind of situation.

The group's progress was steady but fast they once again crossed the street leaving the west district mini urban forest, to enter in what looked like a plane with the crossroad a few meters in front of them and the street covered with tall grass that reached the car's tires.

John who always stayed quiet said, taking everyone by surprise, as they turned their head in his direction waiting for his next words only to be disappointed as it's all he said turning his head as he looked at the east district buildings once again, waiting for these dangerous beasts to come out at any time.

But as they were already close to reaching the crossroad multiple growls and strange hissing sound coming from the west district resonated and with that the sound of the ground being cracked, with differents shadow running in their direction they were so fast that even for Chris he could barely catch their figure both because of the distance and their speed and in less than twenty-second they could close the ten-meter distance that separated the east district road to the crossroad.

" you three go now and it's the last time we help you "

This time instead of Chris talking to them, it was Lisa and she wasn't in the mood to be gentle as all her being was screaming to her that the enemy that comes at them, was so dangerous that her own body wanted to retreat as fast it could but it was too late for that, they wanted to help and now there was no remedy for regret.

but as she was about to leave instinctively and obey her instinct and her body warning although her mind was fighting to take control of her body her forehead was starting to sweat as she could see the shadow coming closer each second she kept fighting her instinct, just like everyone was doing the same, they heard Chris's voice.

" We can't run anymore so either you stay with us or you die, I swear the first person who leaves us now better not cross my path again "

Chris voice trembling voice but at the same time filled with anger that was filled with a strange energy that makes the other stop in their track, as they awakened from their state of fear not sure what just happened it was like a blackout and their body didn't listen to them anymore as they were about to run their back facing the Crossroad two to three meters from them and this place now looked now more like a radiated zone that could bring them down once they reach this place.

In all fifteen-second had already passed and they could feel the pressure now almost crushing their body and mind, as only despair could be seen in their eyes, but after Chris shout, this pressure calmed down less strong, as they could feel their body under their control once again.

" don't leave the place around the crossroad or your dead"

saying these last words, his figure flashed he couldn't wait to organize them anymore they already prepared beforehand, and now it depends if they could overcome their instinct and fight against it.

Since he himself also felt this crisis that his instinct was warning him but different from the others his bloodline took it as a contest and became eager to fight making the pressure less strong as his own bloodline pressure came out of his body like a shield covering the others except for Sky and Lisa snake that was still fighting their instinct to run.

stamping the ground with his feet as he leaned forward, and his body shot forward letting a small crack to the ground showing the strength he used, the wind hitting his face makes it hard for him to see clearly the figure of beasts, that was coming at him but without he knows it his pulis dilated as his iris turned faint blue and the figure of the beasts quickly became clearer and clearer as he readied his sword taking it out of its sheath, stomping twice this time no using pure strength but enough to push him at shorts distance of about half a meter as he repeated the process as the beast figure became not more just shadow but humanoids dog and rats their face still with the same trait of a dog and a rat but more refined making it easier to look at them and someone could almost from afar confused for human.

but his small test stopped, as he sensed danger coming from both of his left and right side as the two shadows leading the other behind disappeared, and he instinctively backed using his strong leg to push him backward, but it was too late as he saw one two-blade going straight for his stomach and he could only look as the two blades came closer and closer.

but his sens came back to normal and the two-blade were blocked by Lisa and Edward that caught up him, they were the first to react and dash when they noticed that he once again decided to fight head-on alone.!!

But I didn't stop retreating and shouted hoping that they wouldn't all charge stupidly just because they saw me doing it.

My plan was to buy time for them, and not to follow me blindly but albeit I didn't have the time to warn them and this enemy seems out of our league to have time to waste in talk, and we could kill one or two thanks to Claire talent and Sarah freezing skill but When I dashed at them I saw five more figure which means at least they were at the same level as us since they were slower than the two in front.

Claire seeing both Lisa and Edward getting pushed back like punching bags, quickly prepared gathered energy to launch her only ability as she followed a few feet behind.

Fred and Alex a few seconds behind her looked at each other as they nodded they understood what to do and that they could only support Claire it was their only option otherwise they are doomed, they still didn't saw clearly what looked like the two humanoids because of Chris Lisa and Edward in front of them but they quickly saw the two beasts two-meter high but in human form, a body covered of fur pointy ear and slightly long nose of a dog and rat since both of them much more looked like a rat and a dog they had in hand two long swords covered in blood not sure if it was Chris blood or of other humans.

I quickly gained back my sight and saw Claire about to pass me and grabbed her waist before pulling her back with me, Lisa and Edward learned their lesson and retreated, not hat they had a choice as their body was sent flying two meters above the ground after blocking the two beasts huge blow, their hand was trembling as it became num for one or two seconds when they in the air, as they did their best to not let their swords fall, as they landed safely on their legs rolling backward before stopping.

but Fred and Alex were caught off guard by the sudden turn of events as at lightning speed their companion retreated before they could have the time to process what was happening but it was the less of their trouble as huge shadows covered their body with a terrible pressure coming from them.

" what the fuck are you standing there come back, let me go you want them to die!! "

Claire shouted as loud she could after seeing that they didn't move when they saw all of them retreating, at the same time cursing Chris as he still didn't let her go.

But before she could get an answer she felt Chris's hand let her go making her almost fall but she reacted in time stabilizing herself as she wanted to curse him at what he was doing, only to feel a gust of wind as some dust entered her eyes and mouth.

Chris once again charged back like an arrow crossing the small distance almost instantly near the two enemies but this time the five more beasts that were a few meters behind reached the two others.

and for a few seconds, he thought ' they are dead it's too late , as he looked at the swords falling on them, and although he was still rushing at them it seemed unfinishable, they were at his arm's reach but seemed so far away at the same time.

But only to see Lisa snake pass him as he felt his scales brush his left cheek, the snake opening his mouth ready to bite the waist of the rat-man to the left, making it stop its attack as he escaped easily the surprise attack of the snake but became angry to be scared so easily and was about to cut the head of the snake swiftly only to see a woman with red hair block his attack with a round shield, but thank to this attack the second beasts the dogman also stop for a split milliseconds but it was all Chris needed as he deviated the slash not trying to compare in strength with the beasts as he stretched his arms pulling Fred and Alex back of the dogman view as it concentrated on him.

Sparkles of the clash blocked the view of the dogman but it seemed not that much bothered by it as he retracted quickly before once again slashing diagonally at Chris forgetting the two insects that the human in front of him tried to protect and focused on as he felt a slight feeling of danger and his eyes became shined with coldness as a faint smirk formed on his lips rather than the loud growl o the beasts he was used to, whether it be Cleaymors or evolved beasts they all roared when fighting but this one smirked at him making him feel uneasy.

Lisa was sent back on her snake body making her lost air as she gasped to breathe, but she still held her shield in front of her, as quickly Edward joined the fight, but they were only able to block his attack and once they tried to attack him, they saw his sword coming for their neck so fast that they could only block with their shield as they got pushed back on the snake body which let out a hissing sound as it attacked from the right, it was like a boxing fight but with two people being cornered by a mini giant rat-man and the snake being the ring as he encircled them and his huge body played finally as he went further to the left pushing the rat that seemed not mind to be separated from his comrades.

and the rat-man was attacking them from different angles and moved only from time to time when he had to retread for a better posture because of the snake that attacked him or Edward huge blow with his heavy sword as he kept an eye on the red-haired girl that gave him a dangerous feeling although he felt that she couldn't bet him.

Chris seeing the two of them in this situation, took a stable position with his feet as he turned around the dog man trying to separate both of them completely as he understood that they couldn't let the both of them work together, his bloodline started to heat up, as he felt his energy coursing every part of his body making him feel lighter as his blood started to move twice faster than before and his eyes started burning, but he didn't let go of sigh the dogman that looked like a mini giant because of his muscled body as he blocked another vertical slash that he barely blocked using his sword to push it to the side as he counter-attacked at the same using every all his body weight before sending the blow as his arm muscle tensed and he slashed back cutting the air letting a faint whistling sound.

the sound of swords hitting each other kept resonating in the middle of the crossroad, resonating in the silent streets of the city center east and west district but at the same time the imperceptible aura of Chris and the two beasts men were clashing each other but no one felt it apart from Chris himself, Lisa snake and Sky who was standing next to Sarah and Emily just as he was told.

As the other failed their attack but were able to block the two beast-man, it gave John and the other time to adjust their mindset as they rushed quickly in front of Fred and Alex to block the five other beasts that they were about to fight before they could disrupt the fight with the others two beasts man, they were smaller the size of a normal human, Fred, and Alex that awakened from their frozen state, their eyes filled with guilt as they know they made a huge mistake, quickly rushed to help Lester and Clement group as they saw that they couldn't at all attack and were getting pushed back making the space for Chris Edward and Lisa harder to fight both of them to the left and right.

and taking each the left and right side went to support Lisa, Philip, and Eillen who kept running each side trying to not let them pass once they noticed they were trying to pass from the sides, the fight didn't even start more than one minute and the intensity was like if they fought for half an hour.

One man of Lester that just blocked the blow of one rat-man was sent flying as another one took his place but this time instead of slashing they kicked the shield and like if it was a ballon, the man rolled across the ground stopping to the foot of John and hector.

Sarah and Emily shot each, two arrows and ice, to distract the two beasts and maybe wound them in the process helping the pressure for Chris, Lisa, and Edward but seeing the sudden change of event they concentrated their attack on the gap opened by the beasts hitting one beast's man that was about to enter in the chest as he was sent backward.

But the beasts seemed to not care about their attacks as they dodged it easily, their faces and eyes compared to those of the normal red one of the rats or dogs they fought with, instead of being filled with thirst seemed to form a derisory smile as they eyes shined with coldness and opening their mouth that could take a human head easily they roared at those weak human and suddenly their attack became stronger and faster, it looked as if they were showing finally their true power and it made Chris, Lisa, and Edward grit their teeth as they know that they were being played by them all this time.

sending chill bone run through both girl's spines at the same time as for a second they couldn't breathe anymore, as they felt like if they were completely naked and every part of their body were exposed and were being cut by small invisible blades, but they didn't flinch this time as they looked at the beasts and instead did what they good at, and supported the others, analyzing the situation and shooting arrows and ice cones when the situation became too hard for them trying to not harm them in the process with how close they were fighting.

" John go help Lisa and Edward, you Hector go help Philip and the others we will focus on you guys to block their attack for a second, and during this time you charge at them and don't retreat keep going "

Sarah turning her eyes toward the other and seeing their struggle as those beast-men moved too fast for Lester and Clement group to attack and defend at the same time, as their eyes were trying to catch a glimpse of their figure as they moved like grasshoppers leaping back and forth, three dog men, and two rat-man, she quickly told them her voice filled with both fear and aggressivity trying to find a way to help.

but it was easier to say than doing as they weren't the ones having blade slashing above their head that wanted to cut their head off.

Claire and Philip with a higher level close to reaching level nine and Eillen being close to reaching level eight, it seemed like those beasts were at least at level eight, as they were able to fight fluid and movement as they each at their turn keep attacking either to the left or right in an organized rhythm and were easily able to push back Lester and Clement group with just one strike, making Lester and his group hanging on their shield as hard they could as they received their body received most of the blow making they take three to four-step back before they could stop.

they took their head out for a few milliseconds to see the beasts and know if they could attack too, to help as much they could only to shove back their head, as they felt a gust of wind coming for their heads, their body sweating profusely as they no more dared to peep out staying obediently behind their rectangular shield, as they looked at Claire to the left corner of their formation for a sign if she wanted to come out which nodded as she understood that they couldn't keep going like that going left and right to stop them to pass from the sides.

" step back we will wait for Hector at least we will have a better chance ", she said as she blocked another blow of one of the rat-man her arm going numb for a second as she had to use both arms to not being thrown away making her understand even more that Lester and clement with a lower level than her, they won't be able to block for much longer as she could see their legs shaking more and more after each attack of the beast-man, as her ears kept ringing from the sound of the clash before going back to normal.

Hearing her they nodded as they waited for Hector which arrived in no time, and Clarie quickly briefed him about their plan.

the five beasts stopped attacking from the sides and all attacked them in sync, to the opened gap, and it then that it show up the difference in technique, none of them know how to fight head-on although they learned the basic movement of sword use with Hector and Fred, it wasn't the same fighting stupid beasts and organized one as they got pushed back as the beasts' man attacked without any fear of the incoming swords as they tried to enter.

Their face shinning in daylight as they rejoiced to finally pass those weak humans and kill them all before enjoy their flesh and maybe get some life essence from their body if they are lucky.

But for Claire and the other they didn't notice the slightly human expression they made as they focused on attacking and not backing.
