The group reached us in no time followed by the beasts that were behind them destructed cars stamped by their overwhelming weight, They saw bears, wolves, insects, and boar with some deers that were running in another direction than the carnivore beasts.

And more types of beasts but only in a small group of ten or more, but what surprised them was that behind the normal beasts of the earth, there were some mixed beasts in the back that they didn't recognize them they looked completely different with a humanoid form but red skin and two horns on their forehead, measuring about two meters with sharp claws on their fingers.

But when the beasts were about one or two-meter from them a prompt appeared in front of all of them.

When I asked them about the monster behind that surprised me although I was afraid of a new type of beasts that could change all our fighting style I still asked them to be sure I wasn't hallucinating.

Edward said laughing but we all know he was tense from the new guest t was his way to calm down, the atmosphere was getting heavier but we still kept our focus.

The growls of the group of beasts assaulted us but we were used to that, Sarah and Emily fired them making them stop piercing their eyes or killing them by entered directly into their mouth reaching their brain.

I stopped thinking and in one breath I was in front o the bear group they were the most dangerous one and with two killed me and hector took each one.

I tried to pierce his eyes but met only a huge paw with claws out in front of me, dodging to the side I slashed a dog that jumped at me trying to bite my neck ending his life, blood spurting everywhere.

I quickly turned to look how was going Hector and he was in the same situation as me the surrounding beats tried to stop us every time we were about to kill a beast or they just took this chance to kill us but what was sure was that they now didn't rush at us stupidly but surrounded us.

We had our back facing each other while slashing at any beast that attacked us our view was completely blocked we couldn't see the surrounding, the beasts kept showing their teeth growling at us.

" Chris we need to retreat I am not sure how is going the others, and those new beasts didn't still start to attack us"

he told me while using his shield blocking an attack from one bear, I pushed his back helping him to support the impact and at the same time turned to his side piercing the throat of one bear that was about to charge at us.

While he followed slashing the bear that just attacked him killing the bear but doing that we got attacked by all the other beasts.

Rolling to the side at the same place escaping them but without taking gashes on our back from the foxes and wolves who were able to follow our movement.

It wasn't so long since the start of the battle but the number of corpses began to pile up.

On the other side from only one meter from Chris and Hector, the group was struggling to block the beasts from submerging them, the growls and shout of the group and the people that were able to reach the group were reasoning in the street with some distant voices in the alley that were calling for help.

Although the group of people that arrived weren't able to help in the fight but thank to them having all shield, they formed a shield wall after being ordered by Claire since she saw that Lisa and Edward were struggling to stop the beasts their number being too much and those people were there only chance to stop the beasts, at first they wanted to argue.

But when one of them got killed in front of them by a level four cat that was quickly taken down by claire before he could kill more people, they realized that they didn't have much choice than to fight with this group of people, they quickly regrouped forming a shield wall behind Lisa and Edward, their hands shaking trying to escape some attacks of the agile beasts, and each time the group of beasts charged at them they advanced blocking the charge.

While Claire, Eillen, Emily, and Sarah supported them if any beasts tried to jump on them they would kill them or at least wound them enough to make them retreat.

Even if the beasts were getting more intelligent to be able to think of working together it seemed to have reached its limit, since they repeated the same thing with some beasts charging mindlessly at them.

But they were starting to lose their strength having to block a group of beasts that charge at them like bulldozers using their weight their bodies were on the verge to give up with their arm having blue marks and the fact that sometimes even with the group of Chris protecting them one person got killed by an Ant as big as a car while no one was paying attention after they stopped the beasts' charge.

All that let them continue to block the beasts was because they saw that the group in front fighting was in the worst state than them, their bodies were bleeding everywhere they didn't have leather armor but despite that, they continued to fight.

But despite that, the worst still didn't come the monster that looked like some fantasy monsters were still behind waiting that the beasts used up all their strength before giving them the final blow at least from the fact that they were roaming around but didn't attack was a good sign of what they were thinking.

She didn't respond, even she didn't know that he liked to fight so much but thank to that they attracted some of the annoying beasts that were hard to handle buying them time to take down some of the easier to kill.

Fred and claire seeing that Lisa and Edward were retreating they advanced with john and Philip giving them some time to replace before coming back and at this time when they were almost close to the alley the humanoid beasts started to rush at them.

I noticed that the strange beasts or monsters who were behind lurking for a chance to attack were now charging at us, thank to my energy sense although it was hard to use it when fighting, I slowly started to use it efficiently which helped me to escape the beasts attacking me from my dead angle from an inch, to hector surprise.

' This guy starts to be more and more unpredictable '

Hector thought inwardly.

I said before turning my eyes toward where should be the group from what I felt with my energy sense, I didn't know why but each second I kept fighting I could feel my bloodline strengthening me more and it was the first time it happens.

And I charged at the group of beasts who started to attack me from all sides, hector just behind barely being able to keep my pace, we now stopped to fight the beasts only trying to come out of this encirclement dodging the strike that could hit our vital part.

Strangely I was fine despite I got hit and wounded several times the energy in my body didn't stop to increase and because of that the small injuries were healing at a faster rate than before and I could feel that my blood was starting to boil like the first time I got my bloodline.

" Chris go without me I can't go further "

I heard Hector's voice behind and when I turned my head I saw that although he was covered in blood like me his wound was far worse than mine since he didn't have energy sense with my enhanced sense of the surroundings that helped me.

" Damn Hector don't give up we are almost there"

My mind was going crazy I was so excited about my new gain of power that I didn't notice Hector's state when I was slashing or punching the beasts in front of me.

I ran toward him dodging the beasts then took him in my arm but I made a mistake the time to take him I stopped for just a second and it was all that those beasts needed with their strong physique they jumped on me and hector, and after that my mind was filled with pain although I protected somehow my head I took Hector under me he was breathing heavily Looking at me.

He looked at me his eye filled with bitterness, I know what he wanted to say with my strength I could escape somehow with a huge loss but I couldn't let him behind, my mind couldn't accept it.

I couldn't think anymore all I had in mind was to protect Hector he was always with me when I fight in front even if he knows it's dangerous he kept protecting my back and because of my stupid mistake we might die here.

I could feel part of My skin being torn apart I was literally being eaten alive.

And before I lose all my strength I took Hector feeling that Lisa and Edward were trying to do something to let us out of this situation, My body was continuing to boil as I felt like it was being burned alive, and with the beasts eating me it didn't help at all, I was able to punch some of them when they tried to bite my head but I was being dragged with hector.

And with my mind now blurry, I kicked whatever was dragging me with my free leg, with all my might making it let me go and I threw hector in the air toward the group hoping they would saw him in this messed-up surroundings.

After that I was now fighting only with my instinct my eyes covered in blood I was seeing all red but it didn't hinder at all, I could feel my body strengthening each time the burning sensation spread in my body my sense getting stronger but the number of beasts didn't stop to increase and now I saw that some the monster with two horn was trying to attack me.

So I charged at them I didn't have anything to lose anymore maybe Hector was safe now so my mind was clear like never in my life before, and all I wanted was to take down as much of those bastards with me down.

" Do you think you can kill me so easily come and we will see "

All I got as a response from them was a guttering sound and growls coming out of their hideous mouth that was filled with sharp and a strong smell of dead meat.

After that, some of them started to attack me while the rest continued to run toward the others.

On the side of Edward and Lisa when they were about to call Chris and Hector they Saw hector flying in the air toward them some beasts to jump on him but Sarah and Emily had already noticed him and attacked any beats that jumped at him.

They were able to catch him before Lisa looked in the crowd of beasts but her lover didn't come out and Edward was urging her to take Hector who was half dead may be due to too much blood loss or just his serious wound to Sarah so that she could stop his bleeding and heal him.

Lisa looked at Hector took him from Edward's arm and run toward Sarah while Edward and the others blocked the beats to attack her.

Her eyes were filled with tears she wanted to jump in the group of beasts and take Chris out of there but after so much time fighting together she knows what she has to do it may be cruel but what could she do if she goes there she might die too making Chris sacrifice to go to waste.

All she kept thinking when taking Hector to Sarah was how useless and powerless she was barely able to protect the one she loved.

Edward seeing that Lisa retreated with Hector ordered the other to start to go back too slowly with each of them at a time and when he was the last to retreat he concentrated his energy in his hand that was grabbing his shield and taking one step back entering in the small alley he landed his shield in the ground making a barrier of energy appear in front of the group of beats and those that were about to enter the alley were cut in half by the barrier of energy.

After using this skill called [ shield wall] he felt all the energy left if body being suck by the barrier of energy he could have stopped to give more energy in the barrier but if he wanted to gain five to ten second for the group it would be enough for them to distant a little.

But When he was about to run he heard Chris voice a little further in the street filled with beasts.

" Edward what are you doing run do you think you could stop them for long "

He then heard Fred calling him while running with the rest of the group, he started to run too the group was now about twenty meters from the beasts' horde and he was just behind the group.

And after only ten seconds the energy wall disappeared letting the beats in the alley entering in the buildings and the streets searching for prey while the rest continued to chase Edward and the group.
