When we entered the house we saw furniture broken all over the house with a blood trail that seemed to go toward Philip's room, Philip wasn't able to wait anymore and run past us, this time no one stopped him even if there was some danger we could handle it.

" Babe where are you, I am back respond to me "

even before he could check if she was in their room he starts calling although not too loud just enough to be heard in the room.

Entering his room Philip saw two rat corpses, they were both on one other with blood all around the floor room.

But he couldn't see his wife or his son he was starting to think the worse but stopped, and instead checked the room his body sweating already from all his stress and after what seemed to him like an eternity he opened the door of the bathroom only to find his wife on the floor her right arm bleeding and a small cut on her stomach that stained her clothes, he was dumbstruck for a second but he quickly came to his sense and hurried himself to see if she was still alive.

' no no no no!! please not her I can't lose her '

He quickly came next to her and felt if her heart was still beating he could hear something or maybe not since his own heart couldn't stop beat to the point he could hear it.

but knowing it was not time he went outside the room, he didn't saw his son but knowing his wife she wouldn't the child to save her life so he should be somewhere in the house.

" Guys please I need your help my wife I am not sure if she's still alive Sarah could you cast a healing spell maybe it could help her "

Everyone was waiting outside of the bedroom, when they saw Philip come out of the room sweating, Sarah hearing him asking for her help nodded and went to the room Philip leading her to the bathroom.

Sarah saying the state of Philip wife, wasn't sure her spell will work but since she got better control with her energy she will at least try and using her own energy started to draw the surrounding energy and melt it with her own with one special energy in the air then sent it inside Philip wife body, she could feel that her energy was starting to quickly be drained just after she started to heal where is the worst wound near the stomach area.

After her first try, she could now feel that even if she couldn't feel her breathing now even if it was really low she could felt the surrounding energy that was inside her body now parkouring her.

" How is she "

- " She should be out of danger now but I am too exhausted, I will need to take a break and continue later "

hearing her Philip let out a long sigh he didn't how long he kept it but his heart almost stopped for one second when he felt the energy of his wife slowly stopping moving.

" Now go get some rest and find your kid he should be around the others are exhausted but you can ask their help, they will help you "

After knowing that his wife was safe they went out of the room only to see a kid about 6 years old running toward them

" dad mom i....she told me to hide and......."

the kid after running hugged Philip tried to talk and say what happened to his mother but he couldn't his body trembling nonstop.

Philip said the state of his son couldn't stop but left tears to fall off his eyes, after experiencing the fight in the staircase he thought he might die at any time, and couldn't stop thinking of his family and now saying his family again he couldn't stop crying.

Everyone noticed that let the father and son some space and went into the dining room that now was in a mess, they couldn't care about this just used some heavy furniture to block the door then took a place a sat in the floor, they all did the same actions making appear their status screen they now had enough point to level up they got notifications during the fight with some small group when coming, saying that they could level and asked if they wanted to it right away.

But they refused even if it seemed that nothing big should happen when they level up they didn't want to take the risk and waited until they came back.

" Guys did you got new path after those fight "

Edward while checking his status asked us it wasn't dangerous to talk about our path at least for now so we started to exchange what we gained, and it was surprising that at least all those that followed the path with system help got at least two paths after fighting the dog pack and the last group of the different evolved beasts.

Emily got a path on her accuracy shoot and basic sword movement after she used it continuously repeating the same attack while fighting the in the staircase.

All the others also got a related basic movement corresponding to their weapon and it almost required the same amount of energy point between twenty or thirty but they didn't finish the path waiting to level up and see how many points they will have left to choose how they will use the leftover energy point.

And their second path was more related to their state of mind something like some sort of meditation book but more about something like a reverse mirror showing them who they are and what they want to be.

Sarah was the one that somehow decided to complete this path after sitting but in just one minute after looking at the space she looked at us and told us what happened to her.

It was like entering a black room with only you in the void with all different types of feelings being poured into you to let you feel who you are, even letting you know some part of yourself, you didn't know.

But all of this is only a lesson and if you want to change yourself you need to work on yourself and shape what you will be in the future.

" is it me or it seems like some kind of a tutorial to help us adapt faster to the new realities "

Hector who was resting his back on the wall said while looking at his status no one know what he was doing.

" Yeah I think too but you guys are luckier than us since we only got one path it seems there is some advantage to it "

John said while rubbing his head not sure if he was shy or just as thinking if he did the good choice but he already chooses there is no regret to have now.

" Ok we made a choice and who knows maybe we will get something good look at claire didn't she get something big too, she could kill that level four dog and we all know that compared to the last one we fought this one was the real deal "

Lisa who was next to me said making everyone look at claire it was true that she shoot this sword energy or whatever it is was powerful to even kill this leader pack in one shot at the depend on her fainting but still it is a great saving card for a dangerous situation.

Claire saying everyone looking at her she sighed, not sure how she did it she just know by instinct that she could the energy in that way.

"I am not sure when I was fighting I saw the leader coming toward us and my mind went blank for a second and I was already shooting the energy-shaped blade. "

she knows that at some point she felt a huge wave of energy entering her when fighting, but even before that, she could feel the energy entering her even when her body was already full.

She said that to the others but for those with the system help didn't have this feeling it's only when they hurt or fighting that they could felt a small part of energy entering them but most of the time it's as if the energy inside their body concentrate in their chest and they regulate itself like a web sending energy only when needed and most of the time they feel it when walking.

" Maybe we just need to get enough energy or just have to complete some conditions to get our talent is a talent you got or a skill "

Alex who was sitting next to claire asked her,

I wasn't sure too I could feel a little from time to time energy entering me but if got to focus myself and think about it it should be when I am fighting or just when I focus myself on my bloodline trying to be more synchronized than I can fell some energy gathering in my heart but only a small part and it go as fast as it came.

We weren't sure if she just lucky or it's something else but at least having someone that can kill a level four beast in one go feel good, so we quickly stopped to talk and started to level Up.

I also started to put my energy point on my level and just after putting in all the required energy point I felt a wave of energy entering inside of me slowly making its way at every corner of my body then I felt as if my body was full and, it was followed by a huge pain I felt like if my flesh and organ being burned then regenerate at the same time now I was starting to adapt to the pain but still, it hurt like hell.

I could feel that my bloodline although slowly was increasing its power not sure what will happen if it is fully charged will I get another power-up of my strength.

And after about ten minutes it stopped, when I opened my eyes the first thing I felt wasn't my increase in strength but rather a sticky feeling like if some liquid and my clothes were soaked in it.

I saw that I had only one hundred energy left of energy point, I wanted to put them in Low anatomy but first, I needed to take a bath.

I wanted to go change clothes my armor should be fine but I really feel like I need to take a bath, when I stand up I saw Lisa john, and claire in the same state we know that it should be some effect after we level up.

Alex noticed us and asked she seemed to have already finished but she was still fine.

" yea we will go take a shower and come back call us if something urgent happens"

claire said to him and took Lisa by the arm and went to the bathroom before even we discuss who would go first.

" it's good that she starts to open a little, she seemed like if she wants to leave us at any time if it wasn't for Alex but now she even starts to go with someone else without Alex "

It was true that even if she didn't seem distant she wasn't trying to evolve herself too much with others except Alex and only talked with other girls only from time to time.

Lisa was a little surprised by claire's action but quickly followed her they entered the bathroom and started to take out their clothes.

Lisa not sure what to say just said what she thought for her, the relationship with Chris was something she appreciated since she wanted it for a long time but who knows that an apocalypse was necessary to make this guy take action.

They talked of all and nothing just trying to know more each other and making them a little closer than before, making Lisa realize that claire in one way was really bad just that she has a straightforward character and when she doesn't like someone or just don't feel good near them she just putt her cold expression as a way to show her feeling or just that she doesn't know what to do.

They came out of the bath their hair wet and they had their armor on them knowing it wasn't the time to be careless.

Chris and john entered just after and took about 20 minutes the both of them even without talking know little each other fighting together are one or another to know someone.

They then entered the dining room the others were talking

" Great, you two have finished it's our turn then Sarah is with Philip helping his wife to recover faster she should be back soon, we can't stay here longer we will sleep here this night and see if we go or not if Philip wife got better "

Fred told me while passing me with hector and Edward heading toward the bathroom.

I nodded normally with Sarah's help even if Philip's wife isn't fully healed she should not slow us down.

After they went to wash themself Sarah came not long after from the bedroom of Philip.

" So how is she "

I asked her, I was sorry for her but I can feel that if we wait another day here without goal others than to search for people that might be dead it will only worsen our conditions once, this calm city with people hiding and who know if there was another group like us that started to level up faster than us.

I have read enough of this kind of situation and I wanted to move alone staying in a group was safer but it's also slow us down as a counterpart.

" she's fine now, and she should be ok and could fight, it seemed that it was only the blood loss that caused her to almost die and the rest of the wound wasn't deadly, so we better sleep soon "

Hearing his question Sarah answered him, she was almost drained of her energy the first time to let her body restart working itself the next healing session was easy, so she wasn't worried about her and only wanted to sleep.

She was happy to hear someone compliment her for work, it gives her some joy other than fighting to become stronger, compared to before her life wasn't the best but at least now she had a goal and she didn't have restrictions about what she wants to be.

Having lived only to get enough money to pay her rent, she was more than happy even with the new state of the world.

she gave him a warm smile and seat down in front of him the others listening to their discussion then they started to share some of their intimate life just like that the mood between the group was closer instead of only being people staying together because they had to.

chatting about What was their life before, Philip also joined them letting his son and wife sleep in the bedroom, but from time to time they stopped talking they could hear voices of different beasts fighting or maybe human but not sure.

The sun was already down, letting the place to the moon which illuminated the street enough for people to see in the dark, the city now looked completely different from a top view even if some building was still fine, it seemed it won't last long at least not until the accelerated growth start to calm down.

But the group who was chatting didn't know about that, only preparing themself to survive as much as they can, ready for a new day of fight for some of them and for the others a chance to change their fate.
