《Killing [Gods] With My Sister》Chapter: 4

For the level up, we received each 10 points. After a few tips from the older woman, my sister and I decided to follow a more balanced build (named “Foam of the Sea”); we put 50% of our points into our main [Attribute], 40% in the two next more important [Attributes], and the rest was invested in the last remaining option.

And this was because we quickly learned, through the retired adventurer, that it was surprisingly easy to fuck up your body with a shitty build: if someone invested everything in [Strength], this definitely would result in broken bones when this person tried to use his/her strength, and similar consequences for the rest of the [Attributes].

And, already in the topic, considering that we had a base stats of 2 for everything, like (more or less) everyone else, after investing the 10 points we received, I ended up like this:

[Name: Ank

Race: Half (Messenger + Filled Teeth)

General:

Level: 2

Class: Novice Help Caller

HP: 20/20

MP: 35/35

SP: 15/15

Attributes:

Strength:3

Resistance: 4

Magic: 7

Perception:4]

Yeah, the [class] name was lame as fuck. Apparently (and I really hoped this was true), it would change as I advanced in the Summon Tree.

Anyway, every point in [Resistance] gave +5HP, enhanced the natural regeneration, and diminished the amount of damage suffered; same relation with [Magic] and MP, and [Strength] with SP, though these two also enhanced, respectively, the magical and physical damage by 1 for every point. [Perception] made someone’s notice stuff easier and consequently move more stealthily. Of course, there was all the sciency stuff around the [Attributes], like how [Strength] made someone muscles better, or [Perception] improved eye eyesight, hearing and more, but this was something to study later, when I come to have time for it.

By the way, Hunah’s status ended up like this:

[Name: Hunah

Race: Half (Messenger + Filled Teeth)

General:

Level: 2

Class: Novice Weapon Weaver

HP: 20/20

MP: 15/15

SP: 35/35

Attributes:

Strength: 7

Resistance: 4

Magic: 3

Perception: 4]

For my disappointment, I wasn’t able to summon a dragon or a skeleton army and devastate the jungle immediately; summoning rules were quite strict and I couldn’t summon anything that had a level higher than mine, or a group of things that, when adding their levels, would surpass mine either. At that moment, I had a single spell :

[Summon: Hesperonychus (X1), Level: 2.

Coast: 10 MP

Duration: 15 min.]

In the future, though, I would be able to summon all kinds of creatures, and even objects (if the retired [Healer] was to be trusted), and build even entire armies of summons.

My sister, on the other hand, following the advice from the older woman whose eyes were always closed; “you can use any kind of item, and better than anyone basically. Your [class] was quite common a few… some time ago, but since then, with the development of bigger and more specialized armies, and for monetary reasons, fell out of use. You should focus mostly on your [Passive Skills] if you want to make the best out of your [class]!”; choose [Mace Proficiency], which improved her damage with the weapon by 5% (she hit with 10.5 of damage – 3 being the base damage of our improvised maces -, while I with only 4).

Why specifically chose the mace as her weapon, someone may ask? Because it was the only thing we could make with sticks and rocks.

Why make our weapons, someone may ask again? Because that older woman refused to lend us any item.

She gave us that carefree laugh of hers, and simply said no, because those items were precious memories from her time as an adventurer with her deceased husband. Oh, and that shiny silvery cutlery and cups we were using? They were made of platinum. Emperors had a hard time trying to get their hands on the metal! Every passing day, my respect for adventurers grew more and more, indeed.

“Here we are”, Hunah whispered.

Well, no time to think about these kinds of stuff.

At least Taffy said where we could find some equipment, and it took us some time; roaming around the general direction she gave us, and between finding oddly new skeletons, and exploring; but we finally found the place.

“How many?”, I asked back, moving closer to Hunah.

“Hm… I’m counting four, but there might be more inside the cave”, she replied.

“Well, it’s not like we have many options anyway, so let’s just dash fast and hit hard.”

“Meh, seems good enough for me”

Oh, yeah: when we pointed where we could “find” some equipment, that woman suggested a monster nest.
