- Argh! - The level 2 warrior finally got exhausted and fell to the ground. The wolves started biting his hands. When they were convinced that he could not resist, they looked at Tornhelm, he approached a warrior with an ax in his hand.
*Hold him by the arms and legs so he couldn't move * Nodding to him, we grabbed his arms and legs.
Swinging, he slashed at the warrior's arm.
- Ahhh! - He began to move his limbs in an attempt to get up, I squeezed him tighter. Even though he's exhausted, his strength is exorbitant, I barely held him.
Tornhelm raised the ax again and struck. This time his arm came off with a loud crunch of bones.
* Won't he die? The young master said to take the warriors alive, didn't he*
*He will survive, young master has ways to treat injuries. I'll explain everything to him myself. *
*Okay, whatever you say, leader.*
*Heh, listen, do you want to become mercenaries after you finish your service? Eventually, we're in the same boat*
Dragging corpses, I thought about this proposal. After winter, we will no longer be needed to protect the village. By becoming a mercenary, I may be able to become a warrior. Although I have big doubts about the fact that I have talent, hope dies last.
While I was thinking about all this, I felt a bite on my neck. The corpse bit me
- The dead man has risen! Help! -I shouted, desperately striking at the corpse's head. However, the creature clung tightly with its teeth. Tornhelm again raised his ax and swung at the corpse's head. With one strong blow, the skull cracked.
-How vicious. Apparently, he was very unhappy with how he died. Although it happens rarely, it always pisses me off. Here's my advice to you. Newborn obyr(zombie) isn't dangerous. Their bodies weaken a lot, their bones become softer, but if you don't kill it, it can then start to remember past life and become stronger. Some individuals may become stronger than in life.
- Doesn't that mean that we have to destroy all the corpses?
- No, it happens too rarely. Do you know the teachings of the church? Well, they are those who claimed the sinners.
I began to remember what I had heard from the priest in the temple.
Heaven does not accept the souls of sinners, they fall into purgatory where they repent of their sins. Some of them, however, can do not repent even after death. Their souls return to the world where they drag a miserable existence as a shadow of their former life. Their souls are forever doomed, the entrance to paradise is closed to them forever, they will rot up in the spirit world until the end of times.

If this is all right, then this man was very evil, and his malice led him to the spirit world. Rubbing my neck in the bite area, I thought he was pathetic.
- I'm back, can someone carry the nobleman. He's in critical condition - I heard the voice of a young master. Looking towards him, I saw the mercenaries behind the young master dragging the body. Looking at him, it's hard to tell if he's alive. His neck had such a big burn that it was hard to believe that he was still breathing.
- My God! Who inflicted such cruel wounds? I asked, looking at the noble
-Heh heh heh. It was me. -The figure in black said. He was smiling maliciously.
* Enemy?* Asked Tornhelm * He's an evil spirit, considering how fast he ran after grabbing a nobleman recently, I doubt we have a chance. *
*He's not an enemy yet. He says he just wants to observe, but get ready to act if necessary*
* Did everyone hear? Watch out for the spirit, maybe we can kill it and lose only half of us. Optimistic of course, but I hope my prediction is correct *
...

- Pull carefully, it's too hard for him to breathe, try not to kill him. It's hard for him to breathe in this position.
- Yes, young master.
During the battle, the militia was engaged only in dragging the bedridden and checking whether they were alive or not. We have fed some of the dead to the wolves, and we are carrying the other part towards the nest. We neutralized the wounded enemies. Now, under threat of death, they carry the bodies of dead comrades on their backs.
I divided the militia into two groups. The first group stayed in the village with Larry, the second follows with us and drags the body of the noble, mercenaries also with us.
I want to absorb his memories and preserve his soul if possible. I'll also get memories from the fresh corpse if I absorb it, but I won't be able to capture the soul. It is very difficult to keep life in him, the power of the spirit is still slowly burning his insides, and his throat is barely able to perform its basic functions due to severe burns. But with the warriors, everything is simpler. We cut off their hands and legs, the militia carries them on their backs.. They were very strong and killed me more times than all the others combined. If it wasn't for regeneration, maybe they would have destroyed all my wolves, even though I collected as many animals created from my flesh as possible, if they had another warrior, they would have been able to escape. All the other wolves who have only a brain from my cells are engaged in the life support of the nest with enough meat for life

What's strange is that when I tried to make them feel pain using the connection worm, they didn't feel anything, although they felt the pain from the attack of my cells from the inside. Maybe it's the mana inside them that somehow blocks my effects? Although this question interests me, but not as much as zhangolos.
He follows us and watches us walking slowly from behind. It's unclear what he wants to do. There is a high probability that he has a high combat capability.
As I remember from the book *Basic Knowledge about Evil Spirits*, zhangolos can use illusions to take on the appearance of close ones, tend to torture and chase the victim for a long time for fun, and then strangled to death. I wonder how there can be so much power in this body, given that the book says that their bodies are mostly made of mana and therefore vulnerable to priests.
There was little information about combat abilities. Only that their power is stored in the eyes. I have already notified the militia and Tornhelm's group about this. From time to time they cast glances at him. They are ready to act in the slightest danger.
- Come into the cave. - Tornhelm ahead showed the brigand where to go. They reluctantly entered, followed by the militia, the mercenaries entered last.
- What is it?
- My God! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!
- Don't even think about running. -Tornhelm unsheathed his sword and pointed in the direction of the panicked brigands with the neutral face. - Anyone who dares to disobey will die.
…

At the moment when my comrades and I began to feel the connection and the ability to communicate with our minds, we thought that this was God's power. But now we are told that it is thanks to this creature? A lot of conflicting feelings were born in me. What should we do and what will happen to us?
Thinking about this, I hesitantly raised my spear towards the brigand who was ordered to go towards the *nest*. He approached the nest with uncertain steps, tentacles came out and swallowed him. Even though he was screaming and moving his limbs, he was sinking deeper and deeper inside. After about a minute of silence, the nest mouths that appeared said
- They don't deserve me to waste my time on them, throw them all at the same time.
As he said, all the brigands fell to the ground and began to moan in pain. I looked around in confusion, my comrades and mercenaries are still on their feet.
- Throw them into the nest. All at once.
- Okay, have you heard? Take them and throw them all.
Obeying Tornhelm's commands, I picked up a lying one who was not grabbing his head as if it was strongly aching. He didn't even resist when I threw him in the nest.
-* Clap!*
With a loud flop, he almost fell, but the tentacles caught him and began to drag him inside. The same thing happened to others.
- Aaaaaaa! Ahhh!
- Help me! How painful!!
- I don't want to die!
After the brigands' bodies had completely disappeared into the nest, we could hear their screams. It was so heartbreaking that some of us threw up.
Taking a deep breath, I continued to throw the bodies there. Slowly but surely we throw everyone. Finally, we left the warriors and the nobleman.
- Should I throw them too? -I asked the young master
- Yes, there is no need to spare them. Only be careful with a noble, he may die before being absorbed
Nodding, I called a friend and together you lifted the body of a nobleman. Carefully passing the nobleman to the tentacles, we moved on to the warriors. While brigands didn't resist because of headaches, seems like warriors are okay.
- No! Don't come near. Don't come near! - Keeping as indifferent a face as possible, I picked him up and also threw him into the nest. I heard painful screams from behind, but I tried to ignore them with all my might.
After we were done with everything, we sat down and began to wait for new orders. After a couple of minutes of silence, I heard a strange sound.
*Crack*
The sound is like something broke. We looked around warily, but we didn't hear anything.
*Come back to the village.* - The young Master gave us an order through the connection. Tornhelm nodded and led us outside.
Although we all wondered what it was and why he ordered us to leave when there is an evil spirit, still did not dare not follow the order. And to be honest, we really wanted to leave this place. I hope we don't go back there.
