Chapter 68: Terrifying punch and simple reason
Hearing Minato's explanation about the events that occurred in Konoha right after Fugaku became the Hokage. Tsunade couldn't help but pity how unlucky that man was.
As a new Hokage, he had to deal with one tragedy after another, and now Konoha was at the risk of being destroyed during his rule, making him the unluckiest Hokage probably having it worse even more than Minato.
So, hearing that the situation was being pushed towards an all-out war against Konoha, Tsunade finally understood the severity of the situation, and surprisingly she willingly said with a sigh "I will go back with you to Konoha and help you face this war, but whether my help can change the outcome or not, I can't guarantee it"
Hearing her answer, Minato was overjoyed. After all, who wouldn't? When you have the support of such a great healing ninja on the battlefield. Add to that the help of her summon Katsuyu. It will help greatly reduce the casualties of Konoha's ninjas in this war and raise their morale.
The only unfortunate thing is that there isn't enough time to find a way to recover Minato's and Kushina's bodies or make new ones for them leaving them limited with the power they could exsert with only the Spirit Transformation Jutsu and its possession application.
Otherwise, Tsunade could have played a bigger role in ensuring Konoha's survival. Unfortunately, time waits for no one unless you can command it...
Meanwhile, I was quite surprised at Tsunade's response once more 'How come she agreed so fast unlike the way she reacted in canon, was it because of the urgency of the situation? or is it just because she's isn't in the same emotional state like she was during canon? well either way less work for me'
I shrugged before I looked at Shizune who seemed nervous at going to war ' This girl is probably only 18 at this time and she only became a ninja after she started following Tsunade so she probably never experienced much conflict in her life especially under Tsunade's protection so hearing that Tsunade's going to such a terrible war is probably nerve-wracking for her'

It seemed that Tsunade also noticed Shizune's current state and I couldn't help but think 'Here begins the drama...'
"Shizune you will stay here and hide until I come back from the war, understood?" Said Tsunade trying to appear like a stern teacher.
Shizune became flustered when she understood that her nervousness was noticed "W-what are you saying Tsunade-sama? I will follow you no matter where you go"
Even though she was nervous, she finished her sentence with a determined look clearly meaning what she said causing a look of satisfaction to appear on Tsunade's face causing her to puff her chest from the pride she felt for her student.
'I raised a good girl' before she noticed from the side of her eyes a small kid that was yawning at their interaction as if he was watching a boring show causing some dark lines to appear on her face which Shizune misunderstood as Tsunade dissatisfied with her answer so she quickly said.
"Tsunade-sama please let me come with you, even though i still have a lot to learn from you, i can still offer great help during this war, please let me accompany you!" this time she said it with even more determination and even bowed.
Tsunade looked at this silly girl with a warm look she rarely reveals and said "idiot, of course I am taking you with me, it's a good chance for you to gain some experience but you won't be going to the frontlines understood?"
Shizune tried to say she can fight but a glare from Tsunade shut her up and she said instead "Y-yes Tsunade-sama"
*Yaaaawn* "Are you done now?" I said with my hand covering my mouth as I yawned ( I wonder how many people yawned when they read this)
Minato looked at me helplessly, while Tsunade finally couldn't hold herself back anymore as veins appeared on her forehead and she directly threw a punch at my head.

Seeing the scary punch coming my way, my bored expression disappeared. Instead, only seriousness replaced it as I could feel the air bending from the force, speed, and friction resulting from this punch and I didn't want to imagine the consequences of it hitting me anywhere on my body not to mention she was targeting my head.
I quickly tried to sidestep to the right to dodge it but surprisingly, Tsunade didn't slow down her punch at all and changed its direction mid-air.
'What terrifying control and reaction speed. However, you still can't react as fast as me' i thought before I tilted my head to the left and dodged this terrifying punch while sending some chakra to my face to protect it from the wind generated by this punch.
*BOOOM*
The wind from that punch slammed into the ground causing a small indentation on it making me feel a shiver running down my spine. However, two people were feeling even more of a chill than me.
They are Tsunade and Shizune as Tsunade simply looked at her hand and thought 'Did a kid just dodge my punch?' Even though she was holding back and was intending to stop right before she hit him using her great control to disperse the wind from her punch without affecting him. The result caused her a deep shock 'The Uchiha clan are really terrifying and this kid didn't even use a Sharingan'.
Shizune looked at the ground and some fear started rising in her heart, not because of the power of Tsunade which she already knows about. NO, it was from the kid that could dodge such an attack so skillfully at such a young age 'This kid is a monster, just how strong is he going to be when he grows up!!' this thought made her pray silently that he doesn't become another Orochimaru...
"Tsunade-sama, please calm down, we can't get Bakorio injured here, his help will be greatly needed during the war" Minato stepped between us to stop this conflict
"What do you mean by this?" Tsunade regained her calm and frowned hearing a kid will have to join such a cruel war.
After all, being skilled is one thing but it doesn't mean a kid has to be forced to do such a thing like killing or surviving for his life at such a young age.
Minato who understood this simply shook his head and said "I understand what you are feeling right now but we are very lacking in manpower, I will explain to you why we accepted his request to join the war later, but for now we need to go back to Konoha first"
Hearing that there was a reason for me to join the war, Tsunade gave me a deep look and asked me "Why do you want to join in the war?"
'Why huh, I never thought I would get attached to the people of this world to the point I would go to a war to gain experience and risk getting traumatized... however, I believe it is worth it' i thought before I simply remembered the faces of a woman and kids and said with a sigh
"Because my heart was touched"

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.
