《Exiled Aristocrat》Chapter 14: Martha and Olga

One of the first things I did upon entering the forest was a change of clothes.

I brought some spare clothes in my backpack.

This is one of the main purposes of the backpack I ordered from the merchant.

Coming back to the manor in clothes that are both soaked in sweat and soaked in the scent of the forest is a very, very bad idea.

Having finished changing my clothes I retrieved from my backpack the second reason I needed a backpack.

From the backpack, I retrieved two scabbarded daggers. From its appearance alone it was nearly impossible to tell that it was a dagger for its grip to the crossguard was shaped like an intertwined trunk.

I unsheathed the two daggers from their scabbards and crossed both of their blades together, a pleasant stifling sound followed as soon as the blade made contact.

“Beautiful.”

Only unsheathed that one could tell the difference between the two daggers, the blades were of different colors, one was black carbon while the other was red sangria.

These daggers were hidden in a drawer in a closet in the secret room which was also hidden in the library.

When I stumbled upon them, I immediately recognised them. These daggers were given to every official member of the clergy.

The red one is referred to as Anaka (Descandance) They are mainly used for ritual, In particular for rituals where blood must be shed. During a noble birth, the presence of a member of the clergy is required since it will be with this “Anaka” that the umbilical cord must be severed.

And the black is referred to as Faty (Death), there was no particular use for these daggers only that they were mainly used for human slaughtering. Despite being the “Shield” of humanity the clergy took part in many bloodsheds in the past. Nobility or common people alike, if they were to cause trouble to the church, it would be with these daggers that the honorable clergymen would fix the problem.

These blades most likely belonged to the ancestor who had renovated the barrack into the commonly referred to now as the manor Rosetta.

I don’t know if this Faty has been used to kill someone but I’m not letting go of a beautiful dagger like this for a murder that has been committed six hundred years ago.

“Right Martha ?” I said while glancing at the black one.

Yeah, I decided to give them a new name.

The black one Martha and the red one Olga.

After all, I brought them along with me in this forest for a reason.

If there is a God above, I’m sure he put these weapons there so that I would choose them.

A red thread was tying me, Olga, and Martha.

It absolutely had nothing to do with the fact that I had no other weapon fitting my frame in the armory.

From shields to greatswords,

From things that could be used to protect oneself to things that could deal damage could be found in the armory but there was nothing suitable for someone under 1m70.

I'm complaining but hey, these daggers are by far way cooler than any weapon in the armory.

I swung horizontally Martha and Olga and a pleasant “fuuuuh” could be heard in the air.

“Perfect,” I said with a self-satisfied smirk packed my stuff and resumed my journey to the inner part of the forest.

*****

While advancing further and further into the forest, I didn’t run, I just casually walked, first because I wanted to appreciate the landscape and also to imprint the path to home in my memory.

It would be very sad if I were to get lost in this forest.

After around thirty minutes of walking, I reached a place I felt to be suitable for what I wanted to do.

This place was around 1 km away from the barrier, it’s pretty far but as long as I don’t go beyond the 5 kilometers I shouldn’t encounter any monster.

Having said that, that doesn’t mean that I let my guard down, since I passed through the barrier I have enhanced my senses.

Yes, I was also able to do that.

As I once said, to enhance a physical attribute of any part of the body, all one needs to do is to attract the dark foggy thing and mold it into a membrane surrounding the part one wants to enhance.

Obviously, that method wouldn’t work if the objective is to enhance sense.

For a long time, I was stuck on how to enhance my senses until one day, while I was training to keep the fog into a fixed shape, I noticed my sense of hearing was strangely extremely sensible.

To enhance my sense of smell and hearing, all I had to do was to create a zone without any of the fog inside.

I call this zone the Aina expansion.

By the way, I could create an expansion of around 15m around me.

Thus if there were any monster spying on me I would immediately notice him.

As long as he is within the 15m.

Hahahaha

I know It’s garbage

But I have no choice but to do my best with the means at my disposal.

For the sight, I still haven’t found any way to enhance and for my sense of touch and taste, I don’t think I’ll ever want to enhance that.

“Okay, time to begin what I came here to do.But first”

I sheathed back Martha and Olga and put them inside my backpack.

My first purpose for coming here was to train myself without having to hold back like I was forced to do in the library.

Now I can fully unleash my full power.

I saw a glimpse of it on my way to this place.

I approached a tree.

A giant one like every three in this forest, it would require at least five me to hug its trunk like this one.

I assumed a fighting stance.

Enhanced my entire body.

Took a deep breath.

Clenched my fist with all my might.

“Shaaaaaaaaa”

And then with a scream, a threw my punch onto the big trunk.

Boom

My fist landed on the trunk and a 1m crater could be seen where my fist and the trunk made contact.

Making it even more surreal, smoke was coming from between the crater and my fist.

I withdrew my hand from the crater and inspected my fist.

There were no injuries.

“Yosha…” I shouted my lungs out.

This is technically my first real punch.

I mean the first physical one

All this time, All I’ve been punching was thin air.

Yes, this is definitely my first punch and the results are extremely satisfactory.

Being unable to refrain any longer from my jubilation, I began to dance happily like an idiot.

Little did I know that I had guests enjoying the spectacle I was giving.
