《The day I became World Administrator》34. Grimoire

Isaac had a lot to do today. But the first was about his magic reactor prototype. During the experiment, he was able to observe some errors and possible corrections, in particular at the level of maintaining the stability of the combustion chamber as well as solutions to increase its capacity.
Once far enough away from the two teenagers' encampment, a copy of the rune began to emerge before Isaac began to study the knots and their logical connections. It was not the best way to go. He had to code each logic gate directly into the rune and draw it manually.
If he were to make a comparison, it would be the same as having to create a circuit board and manipulate a computer's hard drive directly inside to create a program.
This method was slow, tedious, and left a lot of room for careless mistakes as well as silly mistakes like forgetting a line. Fortunately, Isaac had had an idea from his visit to the village. "Definitely, this escapade was fruitful" he thought.
In the same way that the celestial prayers had been inscribed in the pages, it was possible for him to enter in a grimoire inscriptions capable of casting spells and in particular of tracing runes in his place.
Isaac sat down on the grass and closed his eyes before focusing on his aura.
He had long ago understood that mana was a particular form of energy that bent certain laws of physics as he knew them. In doing so, he was able to create runes like the one creating rock from elemental particles of earth present in the air and the ground.
At the same time, he had also learned a skill inherent in mana that was now going to come in handy: Creation of matter.
As previously specified, energy is not lost, it is transformed. By this same principle, there is no real creation but a transformation of energy. Here, the energy used was different. If he had to create a grimoire, it had to be extremely versatile and powerful to be able to perform all the tests he wanted to create.
The young man then stood up and began to rise into the air.
The rocks that continued to float around him then began to disperse and came to position themselves in a circle on the rune. Once the rocks were arranged, Isaac activated the rune and passed the first, then the second, and finally the third phase carefully.
He had been able to test the central rune and had confirmed that it worked, but in order not to take any risks, he himself added two lockdown arcanes above the entire device to foresee a possible breach.
Once the reactor was in place and the reaction started, spiritual energy began to form in the center and Isaac began his experience. He focused on his aura and approached the reaction. He felt the power and heat that the energy radiated through the strands of energy, but did not have time to dwell on it.
He preferred to quickly finish what he had to do and avoid an explosion as soon as possible. He began to reform and manipulate the spiritual energy as he could with a paste. After a certain degree of concentration and under the right conditions, the mana could take on a liquid or a solid form.

He had seen it with the liquid produced by the mana flower and the pebbles he had found under one of the flowers in the garden. A pure concentrate of solid mana. He hadn't figured out how to do it yet, since when he tried to concentrate mana it created spiritual energy, but he still had time to figure it out.
His aura began to contract spiritual energy, creating all kinds of reactions that were held back by the containment barriers in the combustion chamber. He was pleased to see that the structure was still stable and went on to start compressing the energy still being fed back by the runes even more.
Once satisfied with the concentration of energy, Isaac moved on to the second step and gathered the natural particles present in the surroundings before blowing them into the combustion chamber and mixing them.
The energy sphere took on a different color and suddenly turned neon green, like a bar of enriched uranium. "This thing looks more and more like a nuclear reactor," he said to himself.
Satisfied, Isaac turned around and went to look for a mana flower bush a little further, after having deactivated the outer barriers, and dug it up with a part of earth then came to deposit it under the combustion chamber in the center of the rune of logic. .
Once the plant had taken root, Isaac deployed his aura and began to integrate the plant before he began to manipulate the mana circuits within. Once the circuit totally invaded, he weakened the lower containment surrounding the combustion chamber, creating an energy leak.
The energy now able to flow a little more freely passed from layer to layer before reaching the outside. Immediately, Isaac's aura seized the energy and breathed it into the plant.
The latter received a burst of energy and suddenly began to try to grow before being stopped by Isaac. He began to rearrange the vessels of the plant circuit which this time was much more flexible due to the sudden energy boost and shifted their orientation, forcing the plant body to shift and follow the vessels.
For nearly twelve hours, Isaac continued the operation by breathing in and then manipulating the plant by changing its shape while densifying it with energy.
When he was done, the plant was no longer in the shape of a plant at all. It had shrunk greatly and had now taken on the form of a book under the will of Isaac.
Instead of destroying the plant to make paste and produce leaves to infuse them, Isaac decided to go with a method he had seen on League of Legends' Lore site, especially regarding the peoples of Ionia.
Where most people would attempt to chop wood into planks, the Ionians would try to take a tree and guide its growth to form their home. Over the years they would get a house from a tree without harming it. They had achieved an ideal level of harmony. Although it was not rare to wake up with a branch above them, it was a very original way of constructing buildings.

Isaac had taken this method to an extreme to create his spellbook. The cover and each page of the grimoire was the plant with a blue flower over the front cover emitting a fairly heavy mana scent. After all, it was still the same plant.
What's more, with the spiritual and natural energy growth boost instilled in, the flower was producing a greater amount of mana than before which gave Isaac an idea.
Since the book itself was a plant, it had a mana circuit, it could also produce mana. Isaac therefore traced a rune of logic directly related to the plant before pairing it with a rune of containment.
The rune of logic was in fact a lock with ten nodes arranged like a digicode on which it was necessary to infuse mana in a given time and in a predetermined order in order to be able to deactivate the containment rune inscribed inside and directly fed by the flower. making the barrier surrounding the book almost impossible to break.
Of course, impossible to break without destroying the book at the same time. In doing so, if anyone wanted to consult their spellbook, they would have to know the combination, otherwise they would be stuck.
Isaac was happy with his grimoire.
He entered the password then the barrier surrounding it deactivated before he opened it. The pages were still slightly green. After all, it was a plant, he had simply tried to depigment their surface by manipulating it but had not totally succeeded.
The pages were empty.
He was about to go on and write runes and inscriptions inside the pages when he suddenly looked up at the sky and widened them. "It's already nighttime ?!" he thought.
Time had passed so quickly that he had never seen the day pass. "Rebecca !!" he says to him.
- "Shutdown!" he said, picking up his book.
The reactor rune began to tidy up the rocks and then died out as Isaac flew into the air and headed for the camp where he had left the young woman.
Once there, he looked around. The fire was lit and a new pot was placed on it, but no one was present. Puzzled, Isaac looked around and activated his mana vision to see if they were close before he found them.
The two lovebirds were hidden in the bushes and seemed to laugh slightly when they noticed Isaac's gaze on them and shivered. Seeing that their hiding place was spotted, they got up and left smiling and laughing lightly.
- "We wanted to surprise you ... we thought you wouldn't see us" said Rebecca shyly looking at Artiel. "It was his idea," she added.
- "To relax the atmosphere a little" he resumed in his defense, looking at Rebecca with an accusing look to which the young woman did not react.
Isaac laughed lightly when he saw them before seeing three logs set in a circle around the fire, obviously serving as a chair. He sat on one of them before being followed by the other two who were looking at him in admiration. "Why are they looking at me like that?"
- "I'm sorry, I forgot you -" he started before being cut.
- "Did you complete your experiment? What was it? Can you show me?" Rebecca said immediately.
- "I've never seen so much power! It was like when we arrived! I'm sure that with you, Rebecca will be invincible!" he said, making Rebecca blush a little.
A little surprised, Isaac was silent for a moment seeing their impatient gazes before showing them his spellbook. Puzzled, Rebecca stood up before looking at the blanket directly and her eyes widened.
- "C -... is it alive too ?!"
- "Not quite" replied Isaac. "It's a plant," he finally added.
- "A plant ?" replied Artiel, curious.
- "Yes. A plant. It's a plant that I manipulated to take the form of a book" he said, attracting the admiring gaze of the two young people who looked at the book with so much admiration.
- "The elves are so afraid of hurting plants that they dare not even cut them down to make books? Wow ..." Artiel pushed creating a feeling of discomfort in Isaac.
"It wasn't the original goal, but it's enough," Isaac thought with a small smile. Rebecca on her side then approached her hand to the blanket before suddenly being pushed back by a thin white layer.
- "Hm? Is that ... a barrier?"
Isaac nodded positively.
- "Only I can open it. For the moment, it is empty" he said.
- "You take all kinds of measures to try to protect your knowledge" said Artiel looking at Isaac. The magical oath and now that, this elf was taking too much care to keep his knowledge from scattering.
- "Knowledge is a weapon for many. Especially when it comes to magic" answered Isaac. On this point, the two teenagers could only nod with approval. "Especially since my acquaintances are capable of destroying the garden fence" he added.
They shuddered for a moment at the thought of the power required to break down a thousand-year-old barrier and swallowed as they imagined.
Proud of his grimoire, Isaac decided to let it float in his aura before glancing up at the boiling pot with a smile.
- "May I taste what you are cooking here?" he asked looking at Artiel.
The young man immediately smiled and stood up before taking a ladle and opening the pot with it. He put the lid on the grass, then removed the pot from the heat, looking at its contents.
- "It's ready, but it's hot ... We will have to wait--"
Without waiting, Isaac gathered elemental particles of water and air and gathered them around the pot creating a fine mist of ice around which disappeared the next moment, cooling the contents of the pot.
- "I'm not a very patient person" said Isaac with a smile.

GameWorld: Earth's Apocalypse
Be careful what you wish for. The old saying holds true for many people, but none more so than Jaxson Stratford. An avid video game player and reader of post-apocalypse novels, Jax always wished for the chance to attain power and abilities like the heroes of the stories he read about. Then, he received his wish in the form of The System’s arrival. However the truth of reality in this new System dominated world, is something far worse than he could ever imagine. This story is similiar to many others on the site, but the 'System' is something I've thought about for some time. That being said, it is still being fleshed out, so don't expect the story to be amazing, but rather an entertaining read.
