XG 52 - Don’t smear dirt on my work!
After the meal, Wong Xue Guo went back out to the spacious yard and continued exercising. As it was just after a meal, she just sat down and played with the dumbbell at her own pace until she finished her digestion.
With how many hours she spends on the spacious yard, it was lucky that there was a shade extended from the roof, or else her fair skin will turn into the same shade of a lobster.
Although it was just two days of self-training, Wong Xue Guo felt that her flesh became firmer. It might also be some mind tricks on work so that she would be satisfied with her hard work and continue to work harder.
Kang Xunsu silently watches his little employer, wondering how she could persist this much when the only exercise she used to do was walking up and down the staircase. He does not remember what the school would have for sports lessons, but he heard the lessons were set at a rather easygoing pace for students, especially when it comes to the rich kid’s school.
Seeing how Wong Xue Guo adapted to her new exercise without much trouble, it was at this moment she had proven to have inherited her parents’ insane stamina and seemingly endless determination.
“No need to cook. Brother Lam and Ta Kei will bring back dinner for us,” Kang Xunsu told Chen Yibo before he went to prepare tonight’s ingredients.
The two men that were mentioned were under Charles Wong’s gang and specialized in gathering information. They always wander around the island to gather information. Although Brother Lam’s appearance was menacing and screams ‘trouble’, he could socialize well with people.
Hearing that, Chen Yibo nodded and re-joined Wong Xue Guo to continue training.
Watching at the side, Kang Xunsu offered a little reminder. “Little princess, I admire you for your hard work, but training this intensely would not be good for the long term. Don’t overwork your muscles and accidentally hurt anything important.”
“I know my own limits. I can still go on.”
Before going to bed, Wong Xue Guo always massaged her limbs and even soaked in hot water to loosen her muscles. She does not know if it was the correct method to protect her body, but she did feel much better the next day.
Before the apocalypse, she would have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the same time. But now that training was added into her life, she skipped breakfast and only had two meals per day. Hence, when Brother Lam and Ta Kei had not returned after the sky turned dark, her stomach had long started complaining about the lack of food.

Gazing out at the dark sky with the moon shining brightly, Wong Xue Guo went to search for Kang Xunsu. “Did they encounter trouble?”
“Ta Kei said they will be running a bit late. They found a great scoop.”
Wong Xue Guo: Are they paparazzi now?
Knowing that she would know what the scoop was when they returned, she did not question further and went to drink water to coax her growling stomach. Sinking her body onto a couch, she lazily scrolled through social media for the latest news.
The Internet was a mess now, with more news about the virus appearing in many populated areas. But what alarmed most people that frequently visit social media was most older bloggers had suddenly stopped posting anything, not even a reply.
Everyone guessed the bloggers were either dead or in some places they could not connect to the network.
Some people had asked around if there was a safe base and begged to share the location. There were also a small group of people scolding the scientists, believing that they were the main cause of human infectious rabies.
Wong Xue Huo watched a clip where the police officer ran away from his job, ignoring civilians' pleas to help. She silently roasted the person filming this for not running away and joined in on scolding the police officer, which she could hear clearly from the video.
While she was watching worldwide news, Chen Yibo focused on Korea.
He finally got news from his elder brother, who was still in the lab with their father. They could not leave, as it was their main research laboratory, and they had the obligation to find a way to reverse the process of activated genes.
Her stomach once again complained about the hunger, causing her to lose her mood to read the depressing news. She glanced at Chen Yibo who was looking down at his phone, then at Kang Xunsu who was doing the same.
“Brother Xunsu, do you know what happened to Miu?” Wong Xue Guo asked. It also grabbed Chen Yibo’s attention.
She wanted to ask about Miu since she had not seen her for almost the whole day. No one had told her about Miu either, and how she coped with the death of her son.
“That woman? She’s locked in a room with Lan Yan talking to her. Then they went out together. I don’t know what happened after that.”
Where would they go? To bury Kiat’s body?
“Fuck. Canada is in the red zone." Kang Xunsu was also surfing the net with Wong Xue Guo's mobile data. "Aren't they going to have winter soon?"

Aurora was also lounging on the sofa, a rare chance of seeing her taking a short break from work. "Winter has come late in recent years and it's still not December yet until next week. The safest place is still Antarctica, but relying on Winter country is not a very good idea. It’s best to go to less populated places."
"They are back! Food!" One of Charles Wong's subordinates exclaimed outside.
Perhaps it was Charles Wong’s orders, most of his gang members were not allowed to hang out inside the house. Thus, most of them were spotted hanging outside the villa aside from meal time, but still remaining within the compound. They were also working as bodyguards while doing so.
"8.45 p.m. They are taking their own sweet time," Aurora commented, slightly irked at them for starving the young miss.
Aurora was not the only one grumbling, as Ta Kei and Brother Lam were immediately surrounded by their grumbling buddies as soon as they stepped into the villa.
Brother Lam got annoyed by the complaints. "Hey, buying dinner isn't our main job, okay! We happen to be outside, that's why we are buying it!"
"Yes, Brother Lam is working!" Someone helped to speak for him. "What important news do you get?"
"Did you lose your brain or something? I have to report to the boss first ah!" Brother Lam scolded as he removed his sunglasses. The surfaced vein from annoyance on his bald head was especially eye-catching.
"Of course! Let us help you carry the food!" A guy with a thick mass of poodle-like hair and round body reached out for the bags with a flattering posture. His hair was even a bigger mess than Noodle’s.
"Darn you, Kwan Cheng!" Brother Lam smacked the poodle guy's arm. "You only know how to eat! Did you guard properly!"
"I did! No danger approaching the young miss!" Kwan Cheng answered earnestly, his poodle hair shook from just a slight movement, which was also the same for his round belly.
"Brother Lam, the young miss is watching," Ta Kei informed.
Brother Lam paused and followed Ta Kei’s gaze to the window. Those people inside could not hear what they were talking about, but they could see what they were doing with the number of light bulbs installed around the outer wall.
When they first arrived at the villa, among her father’s gang, Wong Xue Guo first noticed Hong Yan and Lan Yan, while the others were unconsciously ignored. Their sense of presence was not as fierce and domineering as Charles and the siblings.
But now that the three fierce people were not in the picture, she was more attentive to the other members. She had seen Ta Kei last night, who stood out with his investigative skills with the aid of his laptop.
As for Brother Lam, he wore a red floral print shirt similar to those she had seen from Hong Kong movies where thugs love to wear. Except Brother Lam does not wear gold accessories and there was a red tiger tattoo on his bald head which was quite a memorable sight.
With a stiff smile, Brother Lam waved in the direction of the window where the young miss was staring at them with a pair of curious eyes. Whispering softly, he scolded his comrade, “Why don’t you tell me earlier!”
Ta Kei was used to Brother Lam’s fierceness and did not mind it. “Let’s go in first. Young Miss must have been hungry waiting for us.”
Startled, Brother Lam quickly makes his way into the villa. “Silly me! Young Miss is hungry! Kwan Cheng, reheat the food!”
Kwan Cheng followed with wide eyes. “What? Did it cool down so fast? Brother Lam, did you buy it too early and then continue spying?”
“What spying?” Brother Lam scolded Kwan Cheng and passed all the bags to him. “I’m investigating! Don’t smear dirt on my work!”
“Right, right! My bad! I will reheat the food!” Kwan Cheng dashed to the kitchen and offered a smile at Wong Xue Guo when he passed by the living room.
Kwan Cheng happily transferred everything into plates while inhaling the scent that teased his stomach. Only after settling them onto the plates did he belatedly discover something was wrong.
Steamed fish. Steamed egg. Steamed tofu. Steamed chicken.
“Why are they all steam dishes?” Kwan Cheng asked Ta Kei in disbelief. “Did you and Brother Lam get the wrong bag?”
“It’s correct,” Ta Kei said. “Boss said not to buy fried food.”
Kwan Cheng, who was used to eating fast food and fried food for all his meals which were followed by his gang members, was suddenly enlightened. “Right, we can’t let the young miss eat badly! Oily stuff will harm her body!”
Wong Xue Guo that had slipped into the kitchen to take a peek: “…”
She wants to eat fried food too!

Lost In Translation
If you're one to travel the roads, you may have heard of me. You may have heard my Names in the stories, the songs, and the whispers of the road. Perhaps you've even seen me during my travels, speaking to a bird of blue light, or on a city street, performing small acts for coin and repute. Or perhaps you may know me as the Skystrider, who walked with the wind. Or the Voiceless, a man of song without speech. You may know me as the Tutor, who taught the Lion of Summer how to fight, or the Traveler, who has walked all the roads of the earth. I am all of these things. And people have branded me a myth. But people don't understand what a myth is. They haven't heard the songs lost to our tongues, nor have they seen the things I've seen. They haven't gone to the places I've gone. My feet have walked the plains, the seas, and the clouds. I have spoken languages unspoken; tongues lost to time. I have sung to the earth, held the moon in my arms, and walked the roads that your heroes hesitate to even mention. I have outwitted Demons. I have danced with the Fae. My songs have been heard by lords of wind and ash, and my steps have echoed in the bellies of gargantuan beasts the likes of which you have never seen. These are what real myths are. And me? I'm no legend. I'm just the bard stupid enough to poke the real ones with a stick. Discord link here. I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed! Awakening
This story was previously known as "The Awakening".~*~"One... two... three... one... two... three... a million... is that number right?" A figure less voice echoed."Hello? Who's there?" Caliope asked, focusing on that voice."One... two... who? A million... a billion... no, it's more... a legion..."Silence. She had seen too many horror movies and heard too many stories about that single word to overpass its meaning. The voice went quiet, yet she was still unable to see where it came from. Her eyes focused on the far end of the path and all she could see were more trees. She turned to the opposite side and found just the same."One... two... billions... but always back at one..." the voice resumed it's counting."Where are you?
