XG 49 - As a gift for discovering me

“Kiat!” The pale-faced Miu wanted to go over to her son but was stopped by one of Charles Wong’s underlings. The grip on her shoulder was heavy, where a weak woman like her could not budge.

"Not even one day. I’ve overestimated your patience," Charles Wong said.

“Mr. Wong, what do you want to do with my son?!” Miu cried out anxiously. “You said you would take care of my son if I agreed to work for you!”

“That is on the premise that he is still your son.”

“Mr. Wong, what are you trying to do?!” Miu wailed and scratched the hands that restrained her. Being scratched, they wanted to slap the senseless woman but they still remember she was still useful to their boss so they just restrained her hands.

“Hey, auntie.” Hong Yan tapped his baseball bat lightly on his shoulder. “We are just helping you to avoid recognizing your wrong son, ah. No wonder you did not notice, with how out of the mind you are almost all the time.”

Lan Yan removed the string around Kiat’s neck and reused the string to tie his hands behind him, as well as another string around his leg. Wong Xue Guo was stuck in the middle of shock and awkwardness when she saw where the blue-haired lady had produced the second string.

It was from her clothing, which has several strings inserted into the small holes in a zigzag pattern at her side fashionably. This lady’s clothing choice was a stylish yet deadly type, dressed in a way where she could use her accessories as weapons too.

Even her glossy high-heeled boots have strings too.

Kiat laughed, not bothering playing around anymore. “How did you know?” He raised his head high, staring straight at Charles dauntlessly. “And when? I’m pretty confident with my acting skill… until I no longer want to play.”

Miu’s squirming action finally came to a halt when she saw her son’s reaction. Her pupil shook at the strangeness of her son, her mind buzzed with frightening confusion, unable to think clearly about what was happening.

Charles Wong answered, “When you point your gun.”

“What?” Kiat laughed in disbelief. “What’s wrong with pointing my gun at you? Do you think this kid had not held a gun before? With his lowly history?”

“The kid named Kiat would not hold the gun as if he’s familiar with its weight and how to use it properly.”

‘Kiat’s acting was already exposed the moment he held the gun and pointed it at Charles Wong. A kid like Kiat would not be at ease and possessing familiarity in handling a gun that only reached his hands a few days ago.

“You have checked this family before you approach,” Kiat accused with a sneer.

One of Charles’s underlings, a thin man with crooked fingers, reported, “In the past week, only a person unknown to everyone in this island approached Kiat and Miu. That man, with a gun, tried to assassinate Miu, only to die from an accident while fighting with Kiat. The doctor’s report said the man died from the fall that hit the back of his neck, snapping his spine… but that’s rather strange. How could a kid be able to push an adult man, whose body size was more than double than the kid’s?”

The man with crooked fingers eyed Kiat as if he was a strange being. “Also, Kiat should have died from the fall too. How can a person with internal bleeding in his head still be able to move normally?”

The doctors were clueless about how he was able to move without a problem. They would not have believed the boy had a brain hemorrhage if not for the scan. They had estimated Kiat would die in twenty-four hours if it was not treated. But the boy does not have money and his only guardian was a lunatic.

With the boy’s insistence to discharge, the doctors closed an eye and let him leave. They pitied him, yet unwilling to fork out money for his operation that has a high failure rate, especially for an unhealthy patient.

“Hehehe… Ahahahahaha!” ‘Kiat’ laughed rather happily for a person that was captured. “Yes, how can I still move?”

“What are you saying?! My son! What have you done with my son!” Miu’s lip shook in fright and remorse.

She was aware that there was a man who slipped into their house with a gun, but she only knew of it after it ended. Even after knowing it, she still did not pay much attention to it since her son was fine, with her mind still busy thinking of her parents.

But what were they saying now? That her son had a brain hemorrhage and should not be alive? That her son before her eyes… was not her son?

“No… No.” Miu shook her head in denial. “You are just trying to harm my son with lies!”

“Ta Kei, say it,” Charles Wong commanded the Crooked Finger man.

“Hehehe, no need,” ‘Kiat’ chuckled in amusement. “As a gift for discovering me, I will tell you. This boy is indeed dead.” He turned his head to look at Miu, who was still trying to deny everything. “Miu, ah, because of you, your son had to settle everything from you, including protecting your pathetic life at the risk of losing his. Do you think a kid could kill a grown-up man, or that lucky to think the fall could kill that man? What makes you think he would be lucky when he has a useless mother like you?”

‘Kiat’s grin widened, his eyes bulging further with joy as he watched Miu’s expression change. “Yes, your son is dead, allowing me to use his body freely! It’s all your fault! It's all your fault!”

“Ahhhhh! Lies! Lies!” Miu yelled and went into hysteria. She would have lost control of her power if Charles Wong had not grabbed her chin in a painful grip, holding her back to reality.

“Possession. The person using your son’s body is still on this island. Instead of running around looking into what happened in the past, you should do something useful, such as finding out where his real body is, and avenge your son. Do it for your son.” Charles Wong moved Miu’s head to look straight at Kiat, whose mouth was occupied with a tablecloth Hong Yan had stuffed in. “After your revenge, you can go as crazy as you like. Do you forget about your parents?”

With tears covering most of her sight, Miu struggled to hold her powers back as she sobbed. “Kiat…”

Suddenly, Kiat's eyes curved into a crescent moon, before slamming his head onto the floor heavily. He had slammed himself thrice before Lan Yan forcefully grabbed onto his hair, halting his movement. But ‘Kiat’ had done the damage before his soul left the body.

The sight of Kiat’s bloody and mangled face sent Miu into another hysteria and someone knocked her out before she went crazy. “Fuck, that bastard is sick!”

The green-faced Wong Xue Guo thought the same too. The one possessing Kiat’s body completely wished to ruin Miu’s mind. It would be very difficult for Miu to recover if she was weak-minded. One does not know if she could be considered having a strong or a weak mind with how obsessed she was in finding her parent’s murderers.

Kiat’s body was brought away by one of Charles Wong’s underlings, and the others went back to what they were doing before. Their big boss also left, without asking if his daughter was alright or not.

Instead, it was Aurora and Kang Xunsu that were attentive to her well-being and vocalized it.

“Little princess, you okay?” Kang Xunsu micro examines every single detail from Wong Xue Guo’s expression.

“... Somewhat? That is completely disturbing.” Even her face was still greenish.

“Yep.” Kang Xunsu had seen family members that were held hostage to threaten their family had chosen to kill themselves, but not killing themselves to break down their own mother’s mind. If that bastard aimed to mess with Miu’s mind, he might have already achieved his goal.

“Noodles, help clean up the blood. L.L., where’s the storeroom?”

“I will go get it.” L.L. was lazy to give directions.

“... I will help,” Wong Xue Guo offered weakly.

“Why don’t you go to sleep? Leave the rest to us,” Aurora told Wong Xue Guo with a careful tone as if she was speaking to a fragile vase.

Aurora eyed Chen Yibo with numerous cuts on his arms. “Mister Yibo should rest too. Your injuries need to be treated.”

Wong Xue Guo does not think she could sleep well after seeing that. And the sound of the flesh banging on the ground still echoed in her mind. She had seen a lot of gore scenes, but that was only from the movies which she knew were not true events. But maybe she will be fine since it was not as gory as those in the zombie movies?

She discovered that she had overestimated her mental durability when she tried to sleep that night.
