When they arrived at the classroom, the room was built like a gym. It had a huge open space perfect for practicing magic, the room was lit by glowing stones that were attached from the ceiling, it sparkled a white brilliant light. Ezekill observed that there were carved runestones also attached on the wall, but the shapes were different from what he had seen in the tower. The students were all seated neatly in rows, quietly waiting except for the Rascal, and the hooligans that seated from further back. A cacophony of laughter could be heard, the order was disturbed by their laughter.
I see, no wonder why no one stopped them from doing whatever they want. That rascal is quite strong. He thought.

Roy glared at them with malicious intent, he still hadn't forgotten what had happened at the entrance. Roy then continued his march towards the front, Ezekill soon followed.
The rascal looked at Ezekill, when both eyes met he smirked. The rascal was wondering about why there's a brat in Practical Magic, and why he is here. He thought that some rich brat crawled inside the sacred school. This school was supposed to be a school for strong mages, especially humans. He immediately blocked his way with his leg, Ezekill sighed and closed his eyes as he tried to control his annoyance. Ezekill sidestepped to evade him, Rey ticked his tongue because Ezekill avoided his scheme. Ezekill continued to move forward, approaching Roy, who was sitting in front, and taking a seat beside him.
“Hey, I was wondering did Ms.Elena talk to you?” Ezekill said.
“Yes we talked, she was insistent about taking the magic lecture at the earliest time. So I took it.” Roy replied.
“So she really did something.” Ezekill said.
“So what's the problem?” Roy asked.
“No, nothing, I was just wondering.” Ezekill replied.
The annoying laughter continued, he couldn’t stand it any longer Ezekill stood up and confronted Rey.
“Will you shut the fuck up?” Ezekill said.

Ah, I couldn't control it. Ezekill thought.
He covered his face as soon as he realized that he said something that could bring trouble.
[Rey's opinion about you decreased by -10!]
Rey stood up and laughed for a few seconds, he stretched his arm forward and constructed a magic circle on his hand. He blasted Ezekill with a fire bolt, Ezekill took it like a man while he constructed a magic circle to protect his nearby classmates from the explosion, especially Roy. An armor like stone covered Roy, the explosion made the armor cracked.
“Who the fuck do you think you are, you little shit!” Rey roared.
“He's dead.”
“Yup totally, he made Rey mad.”
“Finally some action.”
His hoodlum friends murmured, a smart looking girl who looked troubled as chaos ensued inside the classroom, she shivered in fear. Roy stood up defending his friend, Roy prepared himself for a brawl that was about to happen. The other students who weren’t involved, stood up and moved away from them.
Alright, here we go. He thought.
Roy conjured a longsword, along with three small throwing daggers. Ezekill lowered his head and just stood there, he inhaled and exhaled.
Calm down, calm down, just breathe there's no need to cause trouble. He thought.
“Oh, you want a fight?” Rey smirked.
“You brat, are you just going to let your guard do all the work!? How typical of rich cowardly brats!” He howled.
“He just downgraded me to a guard,” Roy said.
Rey appraised Roy's stats, Roy felt unpleasant as soon Rey's appraisal ability started to work. It felt like someone was peering into his soul. Rey didn't bother appraising Ezekill as he thought that he was just a weak brat, ignoring his pendant.
“Forget it, he's too weak for my taste. How about you boys?” Rey said.
“What did you say!? Did you just call me weak, fi-” Roy howled but he was stopped by Ezekill again.
Ezekill grabbed his chest to block his march and prevent him from moving.
“It's not worth it, trust me.” Ezekill said.
“Why!?” Roy roared while lifting his hand with the intention to throw the dagger.
“Before you throw that dagger, the student's book states that an unsanctioned duel will get you expelled and prevents you from enrolling again.” Ezekill calmly explained.
Roy's tensed face softened as he proceeded to calm down, he lowered his hands and cancelled his conjured weapons, it vanished into white particles.
“Be patient, I'm not letting him go.” Ezekill said in a soft whisper.
“Cowards.” Rey smirked.
Rey and his minions returned to their seats, while Ezekill smiled and tapped Roy's shoulders. As the chaos toned down, everyone showed a face of relief and slowly came back to their seats. The smart looking girl approached Ezekill, her hands were held together and she stuttered when she talked.

“A-are you o-okay?” She had a concerned tone.
“Yes, thank you for your concern.” Ezekill smiled.
“Thank you for protecting me hehe, I'm amazed that you cast magic so quick.” She returned Ezekill's smile.
“I can heal you if you want, I specialize in healing.” She added.
Ezekill nodded, accepting her offer. She told Ezekill to sit down, and Ezekill complied. She began to construct her magic circle, a green magic circle appeared in her hands. Ezekill felt itch, and warm she pressed her hands against his chest.
“Luckily our uniforms are enhanced with magic, you only got bruises from the impact.” She said,
“I see, that's why my uniform is still intact.” Ezekill replied.
“I'm Yvonne, what's your name?” The blonde long eared elf asked.
[Yvonne's disposition increased by 5!]
“Ezekill, and the person next to me is Roy.” He replied.
Rey was so sure of himself, calling Ezekill a coward and a fool for stirring up trouble but not man enough to face it. He kept provoking Ezekill, letting him hear every word he had said.
“He told me to shut the fuck up but who's keeping his mouth shut now!” He shouted.
“Be a man, you coward! Own your words up fool!” He shouted again.
Ezekill tried his best not letting his anger get the best of him, he gripped his pants as emotions escalated. Yvonne's troubled face had resurfaced, as she saw Ezekill was about to explode. Yabai was written all over her face. As she moved her head to the side, Roy had the same expression.
Unfortunately Elena had arrived, Ezekill immediately stood up and asked Elena permission to initiate the duel.
“Professor, I want to have a friendly match with this individual.” Ezekill smiled as he pointed at Rey.
The hooligans bursted out laughing.
“Huh!?” Rey bursted out laughing.
“He really wants to die,” said the background hoodlum.
Despite all of this mockery, Ezekill remained calm in front of Elena.
“Fine, you had your chance, you better man up because I won't let this go.” He stood up and cracked his head.
The hooligan gave Rey his staff, it had a red crystalline cube at the top of his staff.
Elena sighed, the guy just signed a death sentence. Elena knew what was going on based on what she heard. So she allowed the duel to teach punks their place.
Rey never saw Ezekill downed a three stronger mage than him.
Rey marched towards Ezekill, he gazed at Ezekill with threatening looks. Elena told the class to clear the way and give space for the duel. Everyone did what Elena said, they stood up and removed every object that got in the way.
This guy just did what MMA fighters do in a face off before the match. Ezekill thought.
Ezekill sighed, as his face was too close, Ezekill responded back by staring his eyes.
“Okay okay, back off, move back by a thousand Acktametre or just move as far away as you can.” Elena said.
“When I say back off, it means the two of you.” Elena added.
Ezekill and Rey moved away from each other.
“This isn't a fight to the death duel, no fatal magic, one must yield or when the shield breaks.”
“Understood?” Elena said.
Both nodded.
“Good, now touch and pour mana into your pendant.” Elena said.
Ezekill and Rey held their pendants and began pouring mana into it. It began to glow sky blue hue, and two magic circles began to construct around their body clockwise. After the construction the magic circles moved upward and downwards at the same time.
[You have been buffed, you gained Shield 500/500]
“Now, begin!”
Ezekill just stood there, while Rey raised his staff above his head, a magic circle manifested on his feet, he pulled his staff downwards before it hit the ground. Rey's vision on Ezekill blurred, his eyes widened as he lost visuals on Ezekill. “What!?”
A second later, the sound of explosion came the terrible echo, the marble floor cracked in every step Ezekill had made. Ezekill's fists materialized in front of his eyes and zoomed into his cheeks. He felt the force behind it, the hook took a hundred hit points on Rey's shield.
[Rey von Unheim
Shield: 400/500]
Rey's ears were ringing as he was falling to the ground while still in shock. Ezekill's fists hit the jaw before Rey dropped to the ground. The uppercut made his body straighten and lifted him above. Another hundred hit points were deducted.
[Rey von Unheim
Shield: 300/500]
While he flew, a thought crossed his mind. I made a mistake.
Ezekill grabbed Rey and squeezed by Earthen grasp, unable to do anything. Pain brought on by the tightness around the throat was only the beginning. His consciousness was waning but self-preservation kicked in, he struggled trying to get out of the grasp. Elena saw that his life was sapping out as his eyes were slowly rolling out. Elena decided to end it and declare Ezekill as the winner.

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Aethernum—Cradle of Yore
Diary Number 999, year I-don't-care, location home. Parenting. Of all I've found clear answers except for this most mundane topic. And not for the lack of trying. My library, so humongous my good friends told me one after the other there is no book it doesn't contain helped little. There are crumbling tomes of ancient magic, vocabularies depicting the evolution of the magical language itself, grimoires and holy bibles of cults long past, rows and rows filled with scrolls bearing the efforts of my magical research, contracts, diaries, letters and more. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.
