《Reborn as a Legend》Prologue -The Second Chance.

One empire fell, one after another. Kingdoms of the north fell like a house of cards, devoured by the Darkness. The kingdom’s of the north ignored the call of arms of the Diocese of Aucort, shrugging it off thinking it was some political scheme by the circle of bishops.
Little did they know it was not, it was never a scheme to gain power in the region. They did in the past, yes. But when the Goddess Eris warned the head bishop, and his council of bishops they stopped the political schemes. Instead they began to put their efforts in preparing for the Darkness. As the man sows, they shall reap.
The effort wasn’t all in vain, as the Argian Empire, Heptarchy of Ocria, Kingdom of Trairia, Lombian Theocracy, and so on had responded to the call of arms, it was a bit too late, the Empire, and Kingdoms were too hesitant until the horde ate the half of Aucort, and until it reached the frontier of Argian Empire.
Third Era 1535, the nations of Eris continent formed an alliance. The "Declaration of Mortal's United Front Against the Darkness" or "United Eris Front Declaration" was a pact treaty that was first set up by the Diocese of Aucort, with the main goal to unite all kingdoms in order to halt the advance of the Darkness.
Darkness engulfed the sun, the black fog of the darkness creeped in. Greater Shades, Shade lords coming closer, and closer it descended, tyrannical like a ravenous storm. The deafening shrieks of the Shade lords, caused trepidations on the entire line.
The United Army formed phalanxes, as they gazed into the abyss while catapults started shooting flaming barrels into the night. By the light of the fires, the size of the nightmare horde can be seen. The horde rushed down the two hundred thousand strong men of The United Army that was protecting the city of Mardon and slammed the defenders of mortal kind.
The nightmare slammed the phalanx formation engaging in fierce melee; the rhythm of metallic tings, shrieks, warcries could be heard, as the light shimmered inside the abyss, giving hope to the fragile vanguard of the mortal kind. The staves of the Eris Battle Priests shone above as they raised it above. The nightmares withered in ashes as the light hit.
Catapults raining down hell fire against the horde, in desperation of trimming their numbers down. Mages from the wall, constructed magic sniping the horde below. Mortal kind wasn’t strong enough, despite the efforts they put in. They were quickly overrun by the nightmares, who swarmed over and on top of each other and infantry formations like a tidal wave. A savage melee sees most of them surrounded: they were destroyed with their enchanted light weapons, but not nearly enough, as the Darkness dragged down and overwhelmed the United Front through sheer numbers.
“Administrator! the level of darkness is increasing in the Eris Continent!” Angel One said.
“Another Nightmare God had evolved! That’s the third one!” Angel Two said.
“Should we send an Emergency Quest to the Order of Layawin?” Angel Two added.
“No, there's no one in the Order who could kill three Nightmare Gods. Send our own Gods to destroy the threat, we can’t avoid divine interference now. ” Herana said.
“No Gods are available to defend the planet, all of them are defending the dimension gap!” Angel Two said.
“Administrator! Darkness is at forty percent! Ten percent more, the half of Eris continent will be devoured by the darkness!” Angel One said.
“I suggest regenerating a body for the codename Mustache-man!” Angel One said.

“Fuck, attacks on two fronts. That guy knows what he’s doing, I didn’t sign up for this.” Herana was in deep thoughts while stomping her feet.
Herana kept thinking about what to do, and analyzing the situation standing in front of the flickering screen while angels sat, operating like an agent inside a military headquarters. She turned her gaze at the screen that was monitoring the situation. She summoned a thick heavy book but she handled it like it was nothing.
“No, not him, not her either.” She was flipping pages of a book on the most successful individual profile on Earth.
She tossed the book, the book disappeared before it hit the ground, and she summoned another book about military talents on earth.
“Hmmmm good but too abusive, this one is drunk of power will stray from his purpose, not him either too reckless and rely too much on luck. Fuck! the breeding ground for Saviors my ass most of them are scums!” Herana said.
“I have no choice, I have to break a few rules if I want to save my children.” She murmured.
“Angel One! Open another screen on earth.” Herana said.
“Yes Administrator!”
Herana watched the screen that was monitoring each individual on earth, the screen switched at a fast rate. Herana was looking for an individual with pure white aura in them, an individual who had no attachment on his/her planet but was brimming with talent, and creativity.
“Stop! I said stop, go back to that individual that was emitting white aura around him!” Herana roared.
“Give me his life documents now!”
“But Ma’am, this will get you into trouble.” Angel One said in concern.
“Dicey situation needs another dicey solution. Just do it!” Herana howled.
Angel One nodded in concern, she pressed a key.
Please be something special! Please I’m in a sticky situation right now, my children will die at this rate.
A book appeared on her hand, so thin she thought.
She flipped through the book pages, she found only things like an otaku would like and how his life goes, it was nothing special, nothing notable until she saw something.
The way he played his game, how he beat everything that stacked against him, the odds were big, stakes were huge. She wasn’t being open-minded before. What if this guy applied his gaming talent into real battle plus his modern-earth knowledge, this type of individual was what she was looking for. A guy who can defeat the odds.
This was a risk she thought. I mean this guy was an otaku. He was overworking to feed his addiction. This was him, Herana decided to gamble putting everything to him, well not everything there’s at least three talented reincarnation in her planet and some of her children are talented too.
But there’s one problem.
He’s alive, and a healthy individual, a rare breed of overworking otaku salaryman. She can’t wait that long humans on earth at least have seventy years of lifespan and he’s not even half of the age. He’s a healthy twenty-two youngman. Another gumble, breaking the rules, she thought.
Again for the sake of her children, she didn’t hesitate to kill him. And reincarnate him to her world, she wonders how he would react by killing him for selfish reasons.
The roar of Angel One made her snapped back to reality.
“Administrator! The third Nightmare God had cast darkness! The darkness level is increasing at a fast rate! I recommend reincarnating Mustache-man now! If we don’t do something your children will die!” Angel One roared in a desperate tone.

“No, send an Emergency Quest to the Eternal Immortal King, and send our S to SS rank Divine Beast. Our Divine Beast and Eternal King’s army would give us enough time for our Reincarnated Heroes to reach their peak.”
“The Soul Department will make his body. This makes him the fourth talented reincarnation. If my gamble was right.”
“The Engineering Department will immediately develop a program for Alfrich Deus, and send a copy of his life documents. They’ll know what to do,” Herana said.
“Affirmative!” Angel Three replied.
Morning sunlight pierced the windows, the alarm was beeping. Alfrich Deus woke up and pressed the alarm button to turn it off. He yawned and stretched his arms and legs, he did a morning exercise. He walked to his fridge, took an egg to cook it, he also put bread on the toaster then he turned on the stove to cook.
I have to get that Mimi limited edition swimsuit figurine but this month’s budget is saying no. He thought while cooking.
After he cooked, he sat down on his table, the toaster tinged and he put the bread on the plate. He took his phone, he sighed while staring at the Mimi limited edition figurine. So cute but my budget! Aaaaaah He screamed inside.
He ate while scrolling down, chatting with his guildmates on the game he played.
“Pfft” Alfrich giggled unbeknownst to him on what would happen next.
After he ate, he brushed his teeth. He took off his pajamas while emitting a melodic hum from his mouth, and got into the shower. The shower head sprinkled water, he washed his face, his hair, and his body.
In clear weather the sky suddenly flashed, a lightning bolt fell into his apartment, and struck him inside his shower.
A sudden white light shone bright, Alfrich’s eyes adjusted, he slowly opened his eyes. A person appeared in his peripheral vision. She wore a black tunic dress, a veil, and she was dressed like a nun. Her skin was snow white, her hair was ashen grey. She smiled.
Alfrich lowered his head, the first thing he saw was a terrestrial planet similar to his planet. He lifted his head up; he only saw nothingness; a void completely dark with a few twinkle from the distant stars. He looked forward, he saw a massive beautiful bright star. The first thing that came to his mind was the classification of that star. It was a K-type dwarf star, from the books he read this was the typical star, one of the types of star who could support life. He was in awe for a moment. He snapped back to his senses and continued to look around, he looked at the back; it was the same void he saw.
“Hello, where am I?” Alfrich asked.
“You’re in my domain.” The mysterious nun replied.
“Huh? Your domain?” Alfrich’s mouth was wide open, he was bewildered.
“Err, I kinda accidentally killed you. My name is Herana” She smiled again.
“What!? You killed me? Then this is heaven?” He put his hand on his face, he couldn’t comprehend what Herana said.
“Aren't you angry? Well forgive me.”
“So you’re Herana and you murdered me. Ahh my Mimi limited edition Figurine!” He howled.
“Yes and it was an accident. Ahmm how about this? I’ll reincarnate you but I can’t put you back to your world.” Herana replied.
“A second life huh? Well I really didn’t do anything in my life,” Alfrich murmured.
For normal people, they would be in panic, threatening Herana for kidnapping them but for him, he immediately accepted it. Inside he wanted to die but was afraid of killing himself and what might the others think of him if he committed suicide. But somehow he got lucky, he was freed from his miserable life.In addition, seeing such a star would be impossible if Herana didn’t kill him, or he just wanted to die and try to find a logical reason why he died.
Alfrich Deus was a salaryman, he never had a purpose in his life. The life he had was a complete void, everyday he went to work, slept and ate. In his spare time he read, played video games, and watched TV series. He never had someone, not even a distant relative visits him.
He was a lonely soul craving for companionship and a family. A real companion, a family. He wants to experience things that he didn’t experience. This was his chance to finally feel alive.
The last thing he recalled, he was preparing himself to go to work. He was taking a bath and his vision suddenly went black.
Alfrich was lost in thought, thinking about his previous life he had, and wondered if his family missed him.
“Ahem, Alfrich are you there?” Herana waved her hand in front of Alfrich’s face.
“Ah, sorry I was kinda having flashbacks of my pathetic life. Hehehe” Alfrich scratched his head while smiling.
“I looked into your records, you had only a few points.” Herana flips the life document of Alfrich Deus.
“You never did much in that life did you? The biggest point you earned was being in the top class on chemistry in your highschool.” Herana added while wondering how such a person failed to get to his potential.
“What do you mean by points?” Alfrich deliberately tried to change the topic.
“Life points, the things you did in your life, you earn it through achievement, helping, killing. In layman terms the feeling of being alive and all. You earn points even if all you do is kill. The important thing is that you feel alive, have a purpose, then you earn points.” Herana replied.
“You never felt alive after graduating highschool did you?” She added.
“Well you’re right but I don’t want to talk about my past life right now.” He replied.
“Then your next life will be different. I’ll add an extra 100 points.” She smiled.
“What, you can do that?” He replied.
“Of course, I’m the freaking God! I do whatever I want!” She boasted.
“Then why can't you reincarnate me to my world?” He frowned.
“It's because I’m not a God of that world.” She lied while crossing her fingers behind.
“Enough talking, I have other things to do. You have 120 Life points to spend. You can choose what items, abilities, and races you want by spending points.” She waved her hands.
A blue box appeared in front of him, it was a list.

Alfrich's eyes shone with excitement, this was like a videogame to his eyes. Alfrich pointed his finger on the text Holy Calibur another blue box popped out. Holy Calibur an Ancient sword that the past heroes wield, it had the power to destroy unholy things and Encourage allies.
“Oh this is good but I think I won’t be facing undead all the time. I don’t really like situational items like this even in video games.” He murmured while an excitement showed in his face.
Alfrich tapped the second one in the list, Golden Gauntlet. The Golden Gauntlet can boost its wielder power output by two hundred percent.
“This one I’m talking about, an item that can be used in all situations.”
Alfrich selected the Golden Gauntlet. A prompt appeared.
[Do you want the Golden Gauntlet as your item? Yes or No.]
Alfrich touched the YES button and the 120 points on the right side of his screen was down to 100.
“Next is abilities, this one I think I’m going to spend my points on the most.”
“Hmmm Restart? Save point? Is this what I think it is?”
Alfrich selected Restart. You can Restart from the save point when you die. Warning you cannot use this ability when you get hit by Magic, abilities that attack directly to your soul.
“Oh, then this is a powerful ability but it cost almost half of my points. I’ll take it”
[Do you want to learn this ability? YES or NO]
“YES.”
[Do you want to learn this ability? YES or NO]
“YES.”
“So the other option with affinity is just affinity to an element. It doesn’t make me a complete master of that magic.”
Alfrich was suddenly curious about the True arcane core option; he tapped the True arcane core option. True arcane core, having True arcane core means your mana is potent.
“So it means my mana pool is larger? Or will my magic get more powerful? Or Both? I’ll have it”
[Do you want to have a True arcane core? YES or NO]
“YES.”
“I’m down to 40 Life Points. Magic theory I’ll guess without this I can’t use magic. I’ll take it”
[Do you want to learn this ability? YES or NO]
“YES.”
A prompt message appeared.
[Warning you have 30 Life Points left. Choose carefully.]
“A gacha in this world too? Wow damn what if I get a very good magic or ability and what if I get sucked.”
[Are you sure you want to spend 20LP on Random magic, abilities, and affinity? YES or NO]
“Errr YES. I need to fix my gambling addiction even here it haunts me.” Alfrich sighed.
“I’ll have to select a race first. The answer is obvious.”
[Do you want to be a Human? YES or NO]
“YES”
[Do you want to be a Human? YES or NO]
“What? I said YES!”
[Do you want to be a Human? YES or NO]
“What the fuck a bug? YES” He groaned.
Herana stretched, she yawned. Waiting for Alfrich to be done. “Are you done yet?” Herana tapped her feet, she was getting impatient.
“Yes.” Alfrich replied.
Herana’s eyes widened. She was shocked that 20 points were spent on random options. She cringed but she respected his choice, but she can’t afford that. It was a gamble for her too. If he got a useless magic or abilities then it would affect her too, he must be strong for the sake of everything.
“It was nice meeting you, Herana. Thank you for giving me a second chance.” Alfrich smiled.
“No problem, I was the one who ended your life anyways.” She smiled back at him.
“Oh before you go, the item you choose will be there when you get born.” She added.
Alfrich’s vision faded.

The WereLionesses Mate
She was running out of breath, but that didn't matter, all that mattered was getting away from him and proving him wrong. Branches scraped her face and her arms, her body burning hot; but cold from her sweat as the wind blew over her skin. Her pants soaked from running through the streams, her shirt ripped to shreds around her stomach from very low hanging branches. Her hair, a tumbling fiery mess of tangles, and waves slipping through the ponytail she had quickly fastened trying to tame her wild hair. Running and crawling on the ground through the forest floor, trying to get back to the camp grounds so Whhooossshhhh! All of a sudden a giant gust of wind flew past her nearly lifting her off the ground and throwing her into a tree. Where in the world did that wind come from? She thought, but she kept running like it had never happened. She jumped over a fallen log, ignoring the fact that she almost fell in the process. She zoomed past all the trees and sprinted over the roots coming out of the ground. She rounded another tree coming to a sudden halt at seeing him standing there with a drink in his hand laughing and joking. She stood there wondering how in the world he could have beaten her here; He looked at her then, He looked, well, handsome, his faced was clean shaven and his button up shirt was all unbuttoned minus the three at the bottom. She could still visibly see his bronze chest and the top of his ripped-hard abs. He walked over to her and smiled, showing all of his teeth, the smile reaching his eyes. His eyes were dark and stormy, their color was usually a nice honey brown but now his eyes looked mid-night black. They looked like they could kill a man at eighty paces, but could sweep a woman off her feet at the same time.
