《The First Corridor of Old Works》Chapter 94: He Watched a World Pulled out of Shadows

He was a dream slave.
Glanced out the eyes of his own Cyclops – Phinz-Twoan - Massimo Diap'leptico Rampposz found himself - he was - here:
Phinz-Twoan trailing behind, still seeing him purposefully, determinedly out that one planet-eye, he was, Massimo, here:
[The rushing, as of a growing tide, a consciousness, really, something new that had to be incorporated - this sensation of a great vast movement beneath his conscious self – this was quite obvious, but at the same time a vast momentum, it ceased.
And Pry was fully aware that it was Massimo Diap'leptico Rampposz. And soon his thoughts, and not long after that, he assumed, he felt himself glanced out the eyes in a fashion he did not yet understand, of Phinz-Twoan - he'd know who Massimo Diap'leptico Rampposz was; what all of it was, to whom he reported, what was Old Works and New, and -]
Where was he?
His thoughts strangely blank Pry watched through Massimo's head. He watched a world pulled out of shadows, out of clouds, of memories. A real space? But obviously so. Or...? Was this merely how his world was built out? Was this merely how a consciousness, late in the game, was incorporated into the total story, as employed - the way they were employed, in the fashion that they were, in Old Works? Was it that?
Or was Massimo; thoughtless, blank, in some sense interiorly, blank in exactly the same fashion as the world he inhabited. Was this merely, as he'd already, thought, watching this occur, himself interiorly, he didn't know, the final process by which Massimo was incorporated/inserted, into the quest/the-story/the whole? The whole thing. Them?
Because Massimo walked through his own mind. The vast man. The King Actor. And there was nothing there.
But -
So that -

Before him. Them. Him.
It was Pry.
Massimo saw before him -
Two things happened simultaneously.
A phrase. One phrase. And one concept; not necessarily connected, and the same time not not.
The concept was this. Pry realised – this was merely an idea, he had no idea, connected to Phinz-Twoan? - that part, if not most, at least at this point, of Massimo's consciousness was shielded, that was the word, shielded from him.
He was as much a part of this/it/him, as Art/Pheel. This was another concept, imparted in some sense to him – via who knew what; whatever divine – he didn't know - anything - that concept or others. - He was as much a part of this as any of them – and yet his shield. Was there. What was it? Why? What did it mean? The obvious spontaneous questions that arose, simultaneously, quite naturally as a consequence. But then, that phrase there - it was three times because a room at the same time: the same thing as the phrase that accompanied the original conception. This:
Maybe something could be done in the dreamunits of Hortag.
It was like this, the room:

The Electric Messiah
Volume Two of the Ontogeny series. A time of unprecedented crisis has come. During a mission to the edge of the known world, Brigadier Weyland James discovered that humanity faces a threat so terrible that the sane mind can barely conceive it. Failure to meet this threat would mean the end of human civilisation, mankind thrown back to a life of wandering savagery, easy prey for the true masters of the planet who see humans as mere animals, theirs to use and exploit as they see fit.Hope exists, if all mankind can unite, putting aside their petty differences for the greater good, but the truth is so unbelievable that the Brigadier faces an almost impossible task in convincing the leaders of the human world. His task is made even harder by the fact that several governments have been infiltrated by agents of the enemy, who are using their influence to sow seeds of war and chaos. The Brigadier is not mankind's only hope, though. In Helberion, a small group of scientists, struggling to make a major scientific breakthrough, is being hampered by assassination and sabotage. Is this the work of the enemy of mankind? King Leothan hopes it is, because it would mean that the enemy fears this new science, that it could be used to create a powerful weapon against them. A weapon that could be the Saviour of Mankind. The Electric Messiah... This is the sequel to Ontogeny. If you haven't read that book yet you must read it before you read this book.
