But fighting the cult isn’t the only thing that drives Hatchet forward. These cultists use the essence of an Old God to reshape reality into whatever their imaginations can bring forth. Uprooted and forced to fight for the fate of the world, Hatchet is the planet Earth’s last line of defence. Book 2: Unnatural Selection Six months have passed and JD has spent every day waiting to be called on again. Changed by his experiences on Mori Island, he wants another chance to be part of the fight for our reality. Soon enough, that chance arrives. The people of a remote settlement on the Transylvanian Plateau disappear overnight. This tiny village nestled at the base of the southern Carpathians yields more questions than answers. Donning the moniker Hatchet once again, JD has to learn how to work as part of a team to fight back against another threat to humanity. But this time he’s ready.

I had recently enrolled in the military as a lowly footsoldier. Oh, before you could proceed any further, let me tell you about myself. I ain’t some patriotic soldier that’ll lay down my life for the sake of my country. Hell no! That shit is for the people with loose screws! I had only a few goals when I joined the army: March into battle, kick ass, and earn me some cash! Achieving glory on the way wouldn’t hurt. I just need the money to feed my little brother and sister. Their world is all I want to protect. The glory is for washing clean the stains that my father left on the family name. We became such a joke in the country that our mother abandoned us. I don’t know if he really did betray the country, but I don’t care. For my little siblings to suffer the same mockery and humiliation that I did is unacceptable! To protect the smiles of my only family, I would do anything. It's based on the medieval and steam era where magic is rare and alchemy is used widely used as a weapon by people. There would be lots of action, adventure, betrayal, tragedy, romance, etc. ahead. Warnings-The mc is a bit mean and foul-mouthed, introvert. There would be strong language and lots of monologue narration by the MC. The stories are fast-paced and progressing faster. The chapters update would be unstable, depending on my daily life. You would get fast updates... or slow.Also, English isn't my first language. Dead eyes. Lifeless dead eyes stared back at him. Tokoyami Fumikage was looking through a portal. Like a one-sided mirror, everything he sees cannot be seen from the other end. He was held captive by a villain of murderous intent, wearing a sadistic smile. The whole of Class 1A was at the mercy of the villain and Tokoyami had to experience first hand. He was scared to death, scarred for life, but he had to act.This fanfiction shows us the different ways the characters in the story suffers. They all suffered differently. Unfortunately, there will be no major pairings in this story. However, there will be minor fluffs here and there. [Italics = Thoughts Bold = Mostly Dark Shadow's speech (if combined bold and italics, it would be Dark Shadow talking to Tokoyami in his mind.) These types of wording may change sometimes, it may be used as a sound, for emphasis or for a double meaning. Since this is my first fanfic, I would totally love for constructive feedback.
