《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 116 – Nine Levels Heaven Suppression Force (1)

As the crowd riled up when seeing He Chen’s remarkable performance against the Head Grabbing Demon, they thought the guy might be able to bring this demon down for once. However, even with the flashy attack, He Chen was immediately brought down by the demon instead.
From the human-shape hole, He Chen jumped up and retreated for a couple of hundred meters, having a streak of blood trickling from the corner of his lips.
Some might evaluate that He Chen had lost the previous exchange miserably. But actually, if he did not prepare himself by using the talisman that would increase his defense after gaining Theríon and swallowing the [Theríon Restoration Pills] to drastically boost that defense, one chop from Feng Luotian would directly detach his head from his body. Getting away with a slight internal injury exhibited how strong his current defense was.
He Chen thought: “So, that attack was still not fast enough.”
He took another ten [Theríon Restoration Pills] out and consumed them immediately. Under the effect of one of the talismans, his health regeneration significantly improved, healing his injuries at a rapid rate. Together with other talismans’ effects, his attack, defense, and speed also climbed up through the roof.
“It seems like I have to use everything under my sleeve to take you down, Brother Feng.”
With that thought, He Chen retrieved eight talismans with the same golden color and let them float and align into a circular shape in front of him. Consequently, he pulled out a 1.5 meters long calligraphy ink brush. The item exuded an aura of being a Titanium weapon. He Chen had requested it from his father before coming to participate in this Feather Ranking Competition.
Channeling his Theríon into the giant brush, its hair tuft began to give a radiance of pure white light. Using that light as its ink, He Chen drew a symbol at the center of the talisman circle. As he was drawing the symbol, all eight golden talismans were exuding in golden light giving the same aura as the Titanium Weapon. Clearly, this Titanium brush was a tool to empower the capability of formations.
When he finished his preparation a moment later, with a determined gaze, He Chen looked straight at his opponent and said: “Let’s see if you can stand still without moving this time around, Brother Feng.”
Of course, Feng Luotian also knew what He Chen was preparing. He just did not have a ranged attack to interfere with that preparation. Feng Luotian’s smile long vanished from his face. He now had to take this fight seriously because this little fan of his was quite extraordinary in the fighting methods.

He Chen held out his hand and spread his fingers on that symbol to pour every bit of his Theríon in it. The eight talismans began to spin at a breakneck speed, forming a circle around the symbol as they expanded until that circle became three meters wide. He Chen roared: “Activate!”
Three meters wide golden energy beam explosively launched from its pad.
Feng Luotian had no choice but to move away from the beam’s attacking range. Otherwise, he would become a real toast even with all of those activation skills active.
The beam mercilessly pierced through the arena formation and landed on another protective barrier in front of the stand in the Colosseum, creating a deafening boom in the process.
Feng Luotian lost more than 40% of his Theríon as he moved away from his original position about 1.5 meters. Because Feng Luotian’s Theríon capacity was much larger than He Chen, obtaining that amount of Theríon amplified his overall status excessively to another level.
With a newly gained velocity, He Chen disappeared from behind the talisman formation and reappeared behind Feng Luotian.
“[Diffusion Blade]!”
“[Combo Stinger]!”
Holding a rapier in his hand, He Chen activated two skills in succession. One was a weapon augmenting skill to steal more Theríon, and also the skill that Feng Luotian gave him two weeks before this competition. Another was a rapier skill, where he stationed himself and released hundreds of the rapier strikes within a few seconds. With his new speed, Feng Luotian should have trouble parrying his rapier bombardment even with that speed and eye ability.
And precisely as He Chen thought, Feng Luotian could only block and parry 95% of those rapier strikes. A couple of dozens hit him, stealing some of his Theríon in the process.
“What kind of battle is this? It’s too fast! I can’t follow with my naked eyes.”
“And that beam earlier, how did he release that level of attack?”
“Who is he? He can have a brilliant fight with God’s Son. He must be some bigshot from the famous family.”
“I know who he is. He is from the He Clan. The third young master, He Chen. But normally, he is not this strong. He would not be able to pass the entrance exam if not for God’s Son’s support. As God’s Son’s friend, he must have learned it from God’s Son himself. Hah! I’m envious.”
“But they just got to know one another less than a month. I don’t think one can change that much in a short period of time.”
“Maybe he worked really hard, wishing to catch up to his friend.”

“Mhm!”
The crowd intensively discussed the fight between Feng Luotian and He Chen, primarily impressed with He Chen’s performance.
As for He Zhan and He Chuan, they could hold on to their seats. Looking at each other, they asked at the same time: “Is that really our little Chen?”
At the end of the [Combo Stinger], Feng Luotian only had about a quarter of his maximum Theríon left. On the other hand, with the Theríon he gained from Feng Luotian, He Chen recovered from his peak state and was stronger than ever.
With a killing intent, He Chen stabbed his weapon straight to the head. Feng Luotian tried to catch the attack, but he could catch nothing but air. That strike turned out to be an afterimage while He Chen got around to Feng Luotian’s back and prepared to deliver another ultimate attack.
Feng Luotian was surprised: “Just how much did this boy study me? The way he used the killing intent together with the afterimage technique was similar to the one I used when I took Sikong Jiu’s arm. Seeing how dedicated he was, I think I might reward him with something.”
Behind Feng Luotian, He Chen was channeling Theríon into his rapier once more.
The moment his opponent turned around to face him, aiming at the heart, He Chen cast the skill: “[Divine Rapier]!”
Right after the decisive impact came the sonic blast of wind going around crazily. The crowd could not contain themselves from wishing to know the result of this exchange while cheering loudly for He Chen to end this demonic streak finally.
“Ding!” Blood dripped down to the ground, inducing the silence from the crowd. And yes, it was Feng Luotian’s blood.
However, upon closer look, his injury was not fatal at all because, in the end, Feng Luotian used his hand to grab the rapier and stop it from piercing through his heart. The rapier only managed to plunge one inch into his chest muscle. Hence, the blood came out from that wound.
Feng Luotian twisted his hand that grabbed the rapier, causing He Chen to lose it from his grip.
Losing his weapon, He Chen quickly made a fallback to calculate the situation.
Feng Luotian had not planned to use the rapier, so he stabbed it down to the ground beside him and said to He Chen: “Brother He, you have greatly impressed me today with your growth.”
He Chen promptly shook his head, denying the fact: “Not at all. Even when I took out everything I had, I still failed to take you down. You are really incredible, Brother Feng.”
Feng Luotian smiled and proposed an idea: “As a reward for your hard work, do you wish to see the extent of my power, Brother He?”
He Chen’s eyes were widely opened. They were full of expectation to see the new world in front of him as he heavily nodded.
Feng Luotian flatly said: “Prepare yourself, then.”
He Chen did not know what Feng Luotian was trying to do, so he slightly bent down his knees and his body, preparing to dodge or interfere at any moment’s notice. He thought that Feng Luotian still could not move under the effect of [Mana Crucifixion], limiting the options to either range skills or targeting skills.
However, Feng Luotian simply used his finger to draw a tiny formation with the size of a golf ball, then sent it into his soul core: “Brother He, you better have a good look because, at my current cultivation, I can only do it once a year.”
Immediately following the end of that sentence, Feng Luotian burst out every last bit of his Theríon. Nine layers of magic circles suddenly formed and appeared directly above He Chen.
These nine magic circles were radiating a suppressive aura akin to a suppressive force released by cultivators, but the extent of this formation was at least a thousand times stronger than any normal suppressive force.
Everyone in the Colosseum was looking toward Arena 1. All fighters on other arenas stopped the battle and stared at what was going on at Arena 1.
Peacock Lord fixated at the nine layers formation with wide eyes as he commented: “Even I cannot escape this formation unscathed. Tian’er, just who taught you this?”
With trembling eyes, Mei Hengkong added: “It’s powerful indeed. But there will absolutely be a backlash to this technique, and even the [Ultimate Battle Formation] cannot heal him completely. He might need a lot of time to recover from using this formation.”
He Chen had a bad feeling about those magic circles, so he tried to move away. Alas, his movement was bound by the suppressive force of those looming magic circles. The only choice left was to increase his own defense as much as he could to survive this attack.
There were still a few defensive talismans left inside his spatial rings, so he did not hesitate to bring all of them out and activate them.
A few seconds later, Feng Luotian softly murmured: “Nine Levels Heaven Suppression Force.”

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. Alternate Worlds
This is actually a group of short stories I did some time ago. The first group are 3 stories, all starring the same Protagonist but with different foes and ways of how the stories play out. Past this I have other story lines that I have done this with and will likely use this heading to put them out there. - Note: The Book Picture is the location of the Portal the car went through. There are 4 such statues set across from each other and then two of the large pillars, set across the street from one another. New Story Line: Lost is about a man lost in a world that Used to have summoned hero's, ones where the mages who did the summonings did not close the pathways properly, so sometimes people from all across time, space, and dimension end up falling in to their world. Some become heroes, some 'Demon Lords' and some something else. I have 3 versions of this story which I will put here, one chapter a day. 2cd version was massively flawed, which I only realized while sharing it. As such I am skipping it and moving on to the 3rd version. The 3rd Story of Lost is about a man who mysteriously fell in to a world based on video games, complete with leveled zones, levels of skills, professions and so forth. Being from a world like ours, with the knowledge of these things, gives him a decided edge and better potential than normal. --------------------------------------- New story - New Life, Old Soul is the story of a man who used desperate experimental magic to grant himself a new life in a new world. This is an Iseki story with a single twist as no outside force dropped or summoned this soul to its new life. Come and see what sort of world and life this willing traveler of Realities unknown experiences. I will try and post once a day, though times may vary depending on my the wierdness that is my life. ^-^ ------------------------------ Cosmic Chaos A Void Maker tried to destroy several realities, by forcing their crystal shells in to each other. The AOs of those realms fought back the best they could, including a desperate play of opening random portals between the divergent universes and the void. Several things, peoples, and animals fell through these portals. In the grand scheme of things very little of this had long reaching consequences. However, Some of these universes gained new time lines from these events. This is a story of one such event, of one very lost traveler dropped in to a very different world than the one he came from. Tags: Isekai, Gender Change (Male to Female), Magic, Drama (lets face it most of my stories have a bit of this in them even when I don't tag them thus, though I don't know how 'Realistic' the characters are.) -------------------------------
