《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 99 : Leveling Up the Team

With a boom, Feng Luotian burst out his Theríon, making it clear for Sun Wuji to see and causing his eyes to widen like a saucer.
He could not help but exclaim out loud: “Brother Feng, you! You’re already an Eight Fangs Fighter. How? Don’t tell me you made a breakthrough in this past week?!”
Feng Luotian made a small grin: “Let’s talk about that later and focus on the job, shall we? Unless you want to die early.”
“Oh! Okay.” The shock caused by his brother’s cultivation speed completely distracted his attention from the current predicament. Alas, Feng Luotian’s words snapped Sun Wuji back into reality.
Feng Luotian started using TRUTH to control his Theríon to finish the modification process.
In his past life, with an abundance of experience and knowledge, Feng Luotian could even help a cultivator in the immortal realm, the level much higher than Fang Realm, leveling up with his TRUTH, so there was no need to mention how easy it was for him to carry out the task at hand.
Although his current TRUTH realm was at a much lower level than he was at before, it was more than enough to level up some Fang Realm Fighters without breaking a sweat.
Before Feng Luotian’s Theríon began to remodel Sun Wuji’s Theríon, Feng Luotian said: “Brother Sun, pay attention to how your Theríon is modified. Otherwise, you will have a hard time stabilizing your strength after we’re done with this.”
Sun Wuji heavily nodded.
Like giving a diamond to a mindless beast, they would not know what to do with it. If Sun Wuji did not understand in what way his Theríon had become after Feng Luotian played with it, even if he somehow managed to break through from his brother’s help, he would not be able to fully utilize his newly gained strength.
While what Feng Luotian was doing was heaven-defying and could practically level up everyone in the city, not everyone could be fine after carrying out this process.
To understand how their Theríon was modified in a short period of time, one must have a strong understanding of their Theríon, and above all else one needed a high-level comprehensive capability, meaning they must be extremely talented, in other words, one of those rare geniuses.
That was why Feng Luotian decided to start off with Sun Wuji, Mei Yue’er, and Tu Lingxi, who he acknowledged as being talented. As for He Chen, he could only wait for the guy to have at least 90% comprehension before he helped him with the breakthrough, or else, it would leave a scar on his cultivation path hindering his growth.

Feng Luotian’s Theríon started to seep into the golden sun and stony helix coiling around it, then began its modification.
The process only took around five minutes before Feng Luotian retracted his Theríon back to his body: “It’s done, Brother Sun. You can put your Theríon back into the soul core now.”
During the modification process, Sun Wuji already gasped numerous times just by watching his brother doing his work, but once it was complete, he became even more bewildered by the scene. He could sense that his Theríon had become a league stronger than before.
Sun Wuji quickly controlled his Theríon, guiding it back to his soul core. And with a deep and resonant sound, he released the aura of the Eight Fangs Fighter. After rechecking his internal condition, there was no mishap and injury occurring, indicating the perfect accomplishment of breaking through.
Looking at both of his trembling hands together with the aura that was exuding from them, Sun Wuji could not hold in his excitement and wonder: “Brother Feng! You’re amazing! You can really increase my cultivation while I’ve not yet fully comprehended my own Theríon. Just how did you know how my Theríon should be in the next level when I did not? And stop with your book jokes, there should not be any book within this continent, much less this city, containing the information about one could level up other’s cultivation. Are you really Brother Feng? Even since that Wight Wolf incident, you seemed off by the knowledge and the cultivation speed you have. And …”
Feng Luotian held out his hand to break Sun Wuji’s ceaseless questions, or else, he would not be able to answer them all. He replied: “I have wanted to tell you the truth ever since that incident, but you would not believe me even if I begged you for it, so I have to prove my ability and knowledge first before telling you this.”
Sun Wuji stayed silent and waited for his brother’s story to finally answer his long-awaited questions.
Feng Luotian continued: “For now, let’s just say that I have obtained memories of a Divine Immortal after I was eaten by the Wight Wolf that day.”
“!!” As ridiculous as it may sound, Sun Wuji had no choice but to believe Feng Luotian’s claim because that would explain how ridiculous his knowledge and cultivation speed had become.
And after some pondering, Sun Wuji guessed that it should be that destructive light descended down from the grand formation and killed the Wight Wolf that gave Feng Luotian the memories.
Suddenly, Sun Wuji realized something from Feng Luotian’s words, so he asked: “What do you mean by for now? Is there something more than that?”

Feng Luotian casually answered with a smile: “There are a lot more than that, Brother Sun. But I’ll tell you after you get into the Lord Realm.”
Sun Wuji frowned in confusion: “What’s the Lord Realm?”
“…” Feng Luotian could not help but inwardly sigh at the lack of knowledge in this world: “The Lord Realm is the realm above the Tail Realm.”
Sun Wuji jumped in shock and frustration: “What? Tail Realm is already a legend and no one from this city can become a Tail Realm Exalt for more than a hundred years. And I have to become the Lord Realm before you tell me everything?! Do you want to keep a secret from this brother until the day he dies, Brother Feng?!”
Feng Luotian laughed at how clueless his brother was: “Hahaha. Don’t worry, Brother Sun. I promised you that, in at most five years, you will become one of the Lords surpassing all Exalts in the continent.”
“WHAT?!” Sun Wuji’s stupefaction kept bursting non-stop today. He felt like his world of cultivation had been turned upside down.
Feng Luotian waved his hand and ordered like a big boss: “That’s enough! Call Yue’er in. I’ll help her breakthrough to Nine Fangs.”
“Fine! In five years, whether I can become one like you said or not, I’ll demand an answer from you!” With that, Sun Wuji stormed off the house.
Seeing Sun Wuji walk out of the residence with an angry expression, everyone rushed at him and asked what was going on. Of course, Sun Wuji would not just speak the story he just heard from Feng Luotian, so he said: “Nothing. Sister Mei, Brother Feng is calling you inside so that he will help you break through to Nine Fangs.”
Mei Yue’er furrowed her beautiful brows: “Stop with the nonsense. Why do you have to act like Luotian can do something like that? Just tell me what happened inside just now.”
Sun Wuji chuckled: “You don’t believe me, huh? Then look at this!” He burst his Theríon showing his current cultivation.
Everyone’s eyes widened in shock and thrill.
Mei Yue’er frowned even further: “Just how? Last time, you said that you’re only halfway through the comprehension. How come you are already Eight Fangs?!”
Sun Wuji plainly pointed at the house’s entrance door: “Just go inside. And you will get the answer.”
“!!” That stopped Mei Yue’er from asking any more questions. She quickly entered the house. And ten minutes later, she walked out with the same expression as Sun Wuji, because their conversation happened to be the same as Feng Luotian also told Mei Yue’er about his memories and that she had to wait before he will tell her everything.
Before anyone started asking, Mei Yue’er said: “Junior Sister Tu, Luotian is calling for you.”
Tu Lingxi timidly asked for confirmation: “Senior Sister Mei, can he increase our cultivation just like Senior Brother Sun said.”
Without further ado, Mei Yue’er released her Theríon. She actually became Nine Fangs after ten minutes with Feng Luotian. She said with a smile: “Go and experience it yourself. You’ll get stronger in just an instant.”
Tu Lingxi lightly nodded and entered the house.
Because Tu Lingxi was just a late-stage Seven Fangs, rather than a peak stage, the process with Tu Lingxi lasted much longer than the other two. Feng Luotian fetched some leftover monster cores from his spatial ring and helped Tu Lingxi refine them using TRUTH to accelerate the process.
After reaching her peak stage, with zero comprehension toward her own Theríon of the next level, Feng Luotian needed to do the full remodel by himself. Nevertheless, it took around ten minutes for Feng Luotian to finish his job.
Because Tu Lingxi was not his sworn brother or sister that had been with him ever since he was a kid and he only knew Tu Lingxi for a couple of weeks, although Feng Luotian had some trust in her, it was not complete trust. He would not divulge anything unnecessary about the memories from his past life.
As for the fact that he could increase one’s cultivation, Feng Luotian asked Tu Lingxi not to tell others about it, which she gave him her words that she would keep it a secret; however, Feng Luotian decided to use his TRUTH ability to place a seal Tu Lingxi’s memory of this event so that he would know if she tried to tell or create a wisp of conscience for others about this event, without her noticing of course.
It was somewhat cruel to do this, but it was necessary for Feng Luotian since he really wished for Tu Lingxi to be one of his team members with complete trust toward her. After some time, if Tu Lingxi proved herself to be reliable and trustworthy, he would certainly remove this seal out of her mind.
