《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 94 : Confrontation of Wing Realm Masters (1)

Sparrow Lord narrowed his eyes after hearing Peacock Lord’s revelation. He turned back to face the twins and asked: “Did you two do something like that?”
The Twins respectfully bowed and answered: “Yes, Clan Chief. We summoned the Wight Wolf and ordered it to kill Young Miss from Mei Clan.”
“Woah!!” The blatant admission from the Twins caused a ripple of shocking sound amongst the crowd.
“You!” Both Peacock Lord and Mei Hengkong did not expect them to blatantly admit their crime right away. They anticipated that they would have to force them to hand out the wisps of conscience before they went any further, so they became furious as they both felt that they were made fun of at the moment.
Feng Luotian frowned as he thought: “They must have come prepared, or rather …”
Sparrow Lord continued interrogating his men: “Who ordered you to do it?”
“No one, Clan Chief!”
“Why did you do it?”
“Because we think if the Young Miss of the Mei Clan was gone, Young Master Sikong Jiu would become the most brilliant star amongst his generation. We only did this for Young Master. And he didn’t know anything about our selfish action.”
“Did you realize the consequence if you were caught?”
With a little pause of hesitation, the Twins firmly gave out their answer anyway: “Yes, Clan Chief!” They gritted their teeth and closed their eyes, preparing for what was to come.
Sparrow Lord: “Die then!” He raised both of his hands and formed two golden-lightning spheres, one in each palm. He ruthlessly hurled them toward the Twins’ stomach.
Once the attacks hit, they were blasted up in the air. The lightning engulfed the Twins and electrocuted them until every part of their bodies turned charred black from the burn. Blood seeped through every pore on their skin. And with a thudding sound, they dropped to the ground, lying still without any movement.
This was exactly like Peacock Lord and others in his council considered to happen if they were to reveal the truth. And they would not be able to blame the Sikong Clan any further.
Sparrow Lord cupped his hands toward Peacock Lord, Mei Hengkong, and Feng Luotian, and co. With an apologetic face, he said: “I must apologize to everyone that my men did something like that behind my back. But rest assured, because I’ve redressed the grievance for you. Since the culprits are dead, may we go back to the previous matter?”

Feng Luotian could not help but think: “What a decisive and ruthless man! To achieve his goal, he didn’t hesitate to kill his men just like that. It seems we have no choice but to let go of that lion tail blade.”
The surrounding crowds were also shocked by Sparrow Lord’s ruthlessness.
Sikong Jiu walked toward the twins’ lifeless bodies and retrieved them into his spatial ring.
Anyone who was witnessing this thought that it was a gesture of wishing to give them a proper funeral because they were once working for Sikong Jiu. Everyone thought so except Feng Luotian who had a light flash across his eyes, watching Sikong Jiu’s every movement.
Peacock Lord narrowed his eyes and sternly inquired: “What do you want for your son’s lost arm?”
Sparrow Lord smiled with an evil grin: “The same with my men. Since they targeted other person’s lives, they must give away their lives. God’s Son took away an arm, so he must lose an arm as well!”
His demand caused a frown to appear on the face of every person on the Peacock School’s side. Mei Yue’er and Sun Wuji burst out in rage ready to curse something but was held down by Feng Luotian: “Calm down, you guys! They didn’t come here to take my arm. Just wait a bit.”
Peacock Lord negotiated: “We won’t be handing his arm to you. Is there any other thing you want?” However, as a matter of fact, he already knew what they wanted.
Sparrow Lord also knew that Peacock Lord already realized what he wanted, but still, he acted ignorance: “Is there any other thing in your clan that is worthy of my son’s arm?”
Peacock Lord sighed and retrieved the lion tail blade from his spatial ring: “How about this peak Titanium forging material? It could be forged into at least five Titanium armaments. Surely, it can replace your son’s lost arm quite well.”
Sparrow Lord’s eyes sparkled at the sight of the item: “Oh? Do you have something like that? Since that’s the case then we will gladly accept it.”
Feng Luotian turned to his friends: “See?”
Sun Wuji commented: “So, they’ve come to rob that item off us.”
Feng Luotian nodded: “Obviously! And with those twins dead, we don’t have any leverage to refuse them any longer, or else, I really have to give them my arm.”

Sun Wuji angrily snarled: “This is unfair! You and Sikong Jiu agreed on the bet and consequences even before you fought. Either side should accept whatever happened afterward.”
Feng Luotian spread his arms, meaning that it was useless to point that out: “The world of adults is more complicated than you think. Surely, if something happened to me, Master would go to their place to demand something from them as well.”
Sun Wuji could do nothing but sigh at where this was heading.
However, Sparrow Lord did not move forward to receive the item, instead, he implicatively looked at Peacock Lord and smiled: “But before we finished our business, I’d like to test something out first.”
Peacock Lord furrowed his brows: “What do you mean by that?”
Sparrow Lord did not answer but raised one of his hands. His hand seemed to be unarmed without any weapon, yet he flicked his fingers directing to Peacock Lord, then Sparrow Lord’s figure disappeared.
At the next moment, Sparrow Lord was standing in front of Peacock Lord with something stabbing into Peacock Lord’s abdomen. That something was invisible at first, but after a few seconds, it gradually manifested itself into a dagger. A [Lightning Mark] on top of an invisible dagger, who would be able to dodge something like that?
“My lord!!” All of the Mei Clan’s members screamed at the sight. As they were about to charge out and help their lord, Sikong Clan’s Supreme Elder released a suppressive force upon them to freeze them in place.
Mei Yue’er also shouted out in worries: “Father!!”
But before she dashed out to help her father, Feng Luotian pulled her back: “Don’t fret. Uncle Mei is not that weak to be done with so easily.”
Feng Luotian was exactly right. The stabbed Peacock Lord slowly transformed into particles of light, evincing that it was just an [Illusion Clone].
Witnessing the scene, Sun Wuji exclaimed in surprise: “How did Peacock Lord do it?! I doubt that the previous Peacock Lord was the clone since the aura radiating from him was that of the Five Wings Master. It couldn’t possibly be the clone.”
Even though Feng Luotian certainly knew the reason behind this, he acted as if he did not know and let Mei Yue’er, one of the Mei Clan’s members, do the explanation instead of him this time.
Mei Yue’er commenced her elucidation after pondering about it: “It’s the skill called [Body Replacement], a perfect compatible skill with our [Illusion Clone] ability. The skill allows the user to swap places with their clone at any time and with any clone they wish.”
Sun Wuji raised his brows in astonishment: “Woah!! There’s a skill like that? Sister Mei, can you do it too?”
Mei Yue’er shook her head: “No. This skill required the user to be at the Wing Realm at the very least. And it’s very hard to learn since there’s a concept of space we need to understand. Presently, I think only my grandfather and father should be the only ones in the clan who can use it freely.”
Sun Wuji: “Oh! So that means Peacock Lord prepared another clone somewhere just in case. After that Sikong’s clan chief tried to sneak attack him, he replaced himself with the clone. That’s wicked! With that kind of skill, it’s no wonder why the Sikong can’t hold a candle to the Mei Clan, because the Sikong’s [Lightning Mark] is static and probably limited in numbers, while your [Illusion Clone] can be programmed to move as you wish like a moving teleportation waypoint!”
Mei Yue’er harshly retorted: “Are you stupid?! How can the world be that easy? Not to mention that [Illusion Clone] ability will cost much more Theríon than placing their [Lightning Mark], the [Body Replacement] skill also spent much more Theríon than their teleportation. And even though we can spam low-level clones, one Theríon Sonar and one suppressive force or other kinds of sweeping attacks could obliterate all of the clones while the [Lightning Mark] would still be on the subject they placed it.”
Feng Luotian added: “In the end, it all comes down to the battle of wits.”
Sun Wuji scratched his head: “Is it that complex?”
Mei Yue’er: “Just wait and see.”
