《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 93 : Sparrows Pay a Visit

Mei Hengkong instantly dashed out through his quarter’s window. If he could fly, why bother walking? The same went for Xiu Yao and Feng Luotian. Although they could not fly, the fourth floor of the Peacock Pavilion was not that high. They would still be completely fine even if they dropped to the ground head first.
The moment they all reached the ground, they found six people waiting for them right outside the pavilion. They were the Sparrow Lord and his Supreme Elder, together with his two sons and the twins. They must have flown here crossing over the wall and bypassing all the security checks at the school gate, otherwise, the ones at the pavilion would get a report first before they would be able to reach here.
Mei Hengkong ‘courteously’ welcomed his guests by bellowing: “You got some guts coming here, you lot of sparrow bastards!” Then he waved his hand and released his suppressive force on the group of six.
Prior to this, Feng Luotian did not have a thought of peaking at his master’s cultivation but now seemed to be the appropriate time to do so.
Name: Mei Hengkong
Level: Six Wings
Bloodline: Thousand Illusion Aurora Peacock
Bloodline Ability: Illusion Clone
The user can create an illusion clone with the cost of Theríon. The higher level of the clone, the more Theríon it costs. Create an illusion clone at the same level as the user will cost their maximum Theríon capacity.
A thought flashed in Feng Luotian’s mind: “Six Wings! Master’s even stronger than Uncle Mei. This is another unexpected surprise. Luckily, we have him on our side.”
While Mei Hengkong only meant to intimidate them, the force alone could kill those under the Wing Realm without a doubt. Nevertheless, Sparrow Lord and his supreme elder joined hands and unleashed their Theríon together to completely block the incoming power.
“Let’s see what kind of strength their strongest forces are holding!” Feng Luotian proceeded to scan the rest of the sparrows.
Name: Sikong Jie
Level: Four Wings
Bloodline: Flying Shadow Lightning Sparrow
Bloodline Ability: Lightning Mark
The user can place the mark on any object as a waypoint to teleport oneself to it. Theríon consumption is corresponding to how far away the user is from the mark when they teleport. Name: Sikong Jing

Level: Five Wings
… Name: Sikong Jian
Level: Four Talons
…
The commotion caused by the previous aura and the battle of suppressive forces brought out more than a hundred people from within the pavilion, including the Peacock Lord himself, forming a circle around the standoff between Mei Hengkong and his guests.
Those with talents who were sensitive to Theríon came out of their training session and joined the fray. All of Feng Luotian’s brothers and friends were all gathering in front of the pavilion. At the sight of Feng Luotian’s figure, except Ying Lizhua who arrived behind his master, and Wei Ci who was still nowhere to be found, they all immediately approached him while he nodded back in greetings.
Mei Yue’er: “Luotian, you’re back! Are you hurt anywhere?” Her eyes turned a little misty.
Feng Luotian: “Yue’er, I’m totally fine. Thank you for worrying about me.” He used his finger to gently remove the tears from her flawless face.
The warm gesture from Feng Luotian froze Mei Yue’er in an instant. She had never received this kind of treatment from him before, so she would need some time to get used to this new feeling.
Feng Luotian turned to Sun Wuji: “Brother Sun, thank you for reporting back to the pavilion. I already know about their decision to deal with the situation. Although it’s a little disappointing, at least we will be prepared when the time comes.”
Sun Wuji nodded: “Mhm. Because of that, we all bitterly trained ourselves to raise our strength as fast as possible.”
Feng Luotian swept his eyes to look at their current cultivations. Indeed, their cultivations had increased by a fair amount after only one week had passed.
“Even though Brother Sun and Yue’er are still at the same level as they were at the entrance exam, they are on the brink of breaking through. What they lack is a comprehension of their Theríon. With my help, they will immediately step into the next level.”
“Sister Tu has become late-stage Seven Fangs. As expected from someone from the Vermilion Kingdom! With the age one year younger, she’s still able to catch up to us pretty fast. A little push will be able to become Eight Fangs as well.”

“As for Brother Ying, that’s still as expected from him. Nine Fangs Fighter already, huh? He must have used his prize from the exam to cultivate.”
“Unfortunately, Brother He Chen’s talent can’t be compared to ours at all. He’s at Six Fangs since the exam with a little advancement. Anyway, he’s still a friend. I must find some way to make him hold a stable career before I left this place.”
“Brother Wei is not here? The fact that he hid his cultivation during the exam and First Elder accepted him as a disciple is a little fishy to me. If Brother Wei is really in a co-op with the Yin Clan as well, I need to get to Talon Realm before he is, otherwise, I’d have no chance standing on the same ground.”
Not getting any response from his brother, Sun Wuji asked: “What about you? Did you find anything new after we parted a week ago?”
Feng Luotian: “Let’s face these sparrows first, and talk later.”
They had a lot to talk about after a week of his absence, but they unanimously decided to put that for later and returned their focus to the present circumstances.
After resisting the suppressive force from Mei Hengkong for a long while, Sikong Clan’s Supreme Elder, Sikong Jing coldly said: “Mei Hengkong, we didn’t come here to speak with you, so stand aside and be quiet!”
Mei Hengkong furiously harrumphed: “Hmph! Who do you think you are, Sikong Jing?! This is the Peacock School and I am its Supreme Elder. Lost sparrows like you lot must leave immediately or else I’ll make you stay here forever since we still have some score to settle for what you did to my granddaughter!”
Facing Mei Hengkong’s domineering attitude, Sparrow Lord softly chuckled: “As an upright city lord, surely you won’t let your elder bullying others for no reason, right, Peacock Lord?”
Peacock Lord was now obliged to step in: “Lord Father, please.”
“Hmph!” Upon his son’s plead, Mei Hengkong retracted his Theríon and released them from the force.
Peacock Lord walked forward to face the visitors: “What business do you have with us?”
Sparrow Lord cupped his hand and greeted Peacock Lord with a proper manner: “Hello, Peacock Lord. I think you should already know the answer to that question. God’s Son, who is still in your protection, severely injured my son causing him to lose an arm. It’s us who should be asking for a reason. We’ve come here to demand an answer and compensations!”
Feng Luotian stepped out: “How shameless can you be? We still haven’t redressed the fact that you tried to assassinate Peacock Lord’s daughter. Now, you come to demand something from us only for an arm. How ridiculous!”
Sparrow Lord raised his brows: “Oh, God’s Son! I don’t know what you’re talking about. If what you said is true, please bring out some evidence before you speak! If you don’t have any, then shut up!”
Feng Luotian turned to Peacock Lord signaling him to throw it to their faces. As for Peacock Lord, even though he already knew what was going to happen and nothing was going to change, he had to do it anyway.
While Peacock Lord sighed in his heart, his complexion turned to an angry man as he pointed his finger at the group of sparrows: “You, shut up!! We have already found the evidence a long time ago. At the place where the Wight Wolf attacked my daughter and her friends, on one of the tree branches, there are Theríon traces. And those traces matched with the auras of your subordinates: the twins behind your back! And don’t you dare deny what I’ve said because I’ve checked this evidence out myself. If you do, I will request them to present us with their wisps of conscience containing the event of that day that will explain why their auras were there!”

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. You should put it on." ____________________________She was a shy girl from the city with no spine and a list of problems so long that it could touch the floor and roll off her shoes.
