《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 89 : TRUTH

Two hours had passed and the effect of [Spiritual Concealment Formation] began to wear off, Xiu Yao finally woke up.
He did not know where he was at first, but after looking around, he found himself already arrived at Divine Bird City safely. That shocked him beyond belief.
The last image he had was that he got hit by a strong suppressive force when he tried to leave and catch up to his junior brother after witnessing the horde of monsters standing in front of the stone gate. That could only mean one thing: the enemy was on him before he even made his escape.
Then how did he manage to survive after that?
Noticing Feng Luotian beside him, Xiu Yao guessed that it was Feng Luotian who saved him from that perilous situation, but that fact had given him an even bigger marvel. How could a junior at Fang Realm withstand such a suppressive force that could instantly knock him out?
Sensing Xiu Yao was looking at him, Feng Luotian opened his eyes from the cultivation and recuperation state: “Oh! Senior Brother, you’re up?”
Seeing a smile on Feng Luotian’s face, Xiu Yao could not help but ask in astonishment: “Junior Brother Feng, how in the world did you manage to save me from that kind of suppressive force?!”
Feng Luotian shook his head: “Not telling.”
“!!” His frankness totally stunned Xiu Yao. Normally, if you did not want to tell something, you could just make an excuse or a lie, but Feng Luotian admitted outright that he would not divulge anything about this matter.
Actually, not only Feng Luotian did not want to tell Xiu Yao, but the technique itself was also very hard to teach. It would take a whole day to explain and up to a few years or decades to actually be able to use it.
This technique was called TRUTH: Total Recognition of Utilizing THeríon. Contrasting with other techniques, TRUTH did not require much Theríon to use as it only needed one’s complete comprehension toward it.
TRUTH was generally used in the higher realms of cultivation as a tool to support everything in battles such as increasing the skill’s precision, control, efficiency, variation, and et cetera. Some also used it to guide Theríon to treat one’s injury, aka, healing, or even altering the content of one’s wisp of conscience so that its content did not always contain what actually happened. Some found it quite ironic since they had to use TRUTH to fabricate lies.
Being so handy and convenient, TRUTH was regarded as another path of cultivation one needed to train to achieve a higher standard in this cultivation world and was divided into realms just like cultivation realms.
Although, as previously said, TRUTH did not require much Theríon, there was still a minimum requirement for each level, except the first level.

Entering the first level of the TRUTH realm: Essence Realm did not have a cultivation prerequisite. If you were talented in TRUTH, then you could enter Essence Realm ever since you were just a Fang Realm Fighter.
Even so, there would be no one believing that there was actually a Fang Realm Fighter who was at the Essence Realm because the earliest one who could achieve the Essence Realm in the current record of all histories was at Three Talons.
Normally, one would have to be at least a Tail Realm Exalt before being able to enter the first level. That was the reason why Feng Luotian said that ‘one could not fabricate the wisp of conscience under the Tail Realm’ when he finished with the information from Huo Zhihao.
But then again, to the reincarnated Feng Luotian, it was a completely different matter.
In his past life, Feng Luotian had already entered deep into the TRUTH Realm. From all eight levels of Truth Realm, Feng Luotian already stepped into the sixth stage. Two more realms and he would achieve the highest level in TRUTH.
With that knowledge, he could enter any TRUTH Realm up until the sixth level right after he met the minimum requirement of cultivation. Of course, Feng Luotian had already entered the Essence Realm ever since he was awakened and became a One Fang Fighter.
Achieving Essence Realm granted Feng Luotian the ability to control and transform his Theríon to whatever shape and form he wished.
Encountering a suppressive force that did not contain any TRUTH, it was as easy as pie for Feng Luotian to get away from it. A suppressive force without any TRUTH always happened in one direction: pressing the Theríon down from above. And the cultivators without the knowledge of TRUTH would be using their Theríon to resist from below. If the resistance was weaker than the suppressive force, the Theríon they put up to protect them would instant crumble.
On the other hand, with the TRUTH, Feng Luotian just had to form a cone-shaped Theríon pointing directly above his head as a barrier to redirect the suppressive force away from his body. Calculating the right angle would result in Theríon reflection and cancel out each other. A thin barrier made of little Theríon would be able to resist the suppressive force of the cultivators one realm higher without a hitch.
As for the suppressive force of the cultivators two whole realms higher than him like the mysterious shop’s owner: Ming Zhuo or the Yin Clan’s elder: Yin Wuying?
The situation of the two using the suppressive force had to be described separately. It was not because Yin Clan’s elder was stronger than Ming Zhuo. It was because Ming Zhuo only tried to intimidate Feng Luotian, not intending to kill him like the Yin Clan’s elder.

The suppressive force containing murderous intents would of course give out more pressure and power, making it more difficult to resist; however, even though it mostly exhausted his Theríon to create a much thicker Theríon barrier, Feng Luotian could still get away with his full health intact.
Whether it was the suppressive force from the mysterious shop’s owner: Ming Zhuo or the Yin Clan’s elder: Yin Wuying, it was just a child play before the TRUTH.
Nevertheless, it would be an entirely separate circumstance if his opponents happened to be able to use the TRUTH as well. The suppressive force containing the TRUTH could come from any direction. That would require him to set up a Theríon sensing barrier prior to the fight and after knowing which direction the force came from, he then would have to instantly form another barrier to defend against it.
A battle between the TRUTH experts would be the comparison of their comprehension, experience, reaction speed, and mental fortitude, which was still too complex for any people within both Divine Bird City and Silver Fox City. Maybe there were one or two cultivators in the Vermilion Kingdom that knew how to train the TRUTH. That made Feng Luotian the only TRUTH master around.
With this advantage, why would he share this information with Xiu Yao? It was not that he did not want to trust his senior brother, but the situation had gone more and more awry every passing day. The more information he obtained, the less he knew about this city, the city of Mei Yue’er where he visited hundreds of times in his past life.
Before he could confirm the innocence of his senior brother, Feng Luotian decided not to reveal any intel if it was not necessary.
Seeing Xiu Yao became still without any words to say, Feng Luotian let out a light chuckle and said: “Let’s return and report to Master. Can you walk, Senior Brother?”
Xiu Yao: “What are you saying, Junior Brother Feng? How could the awesome me be unable to walk by myself? You’re belittling your senior brother too much. I can definitely … cough, cough, cough!”
Even though he said that, Xiu Yao’s body was still too frail to move around, so Feng Luotian approached and supported him back to the Peacock School: “Just shut up and be obedient, Senior Brother.”
On their way back, although Xiu Yao was once famous for being Mei Clan’s Supreme Elder’s disciple and all, after entering the Peacock School, he always secluded himself and trained by Mei Hengkong’s side. After obtaining enough strength to take on a mission, he received the direct command from his master to carry out covert missions and seldom showed himself in public. That was why no one recognized him anymore.
Opposite to that, just one week ago, Feng Luotian made his overpowering debut at the Peacock School’s entrance exam and on the day after that, he tore an arm off the speed star, Sikong Jiu, in the middle of the Sikong territory: the western area of Divine Bird City. Ever since that day, the only topic that flowed through everyone’s mouth in these past few days was God’s Son’s performance. Some who knew more details were gossiping about Feng Luotian being hunted by the twins and dropping dead in the Nefarious Valley. And there were actually some people believing the news and lamenting about him.
After Feng Luotian supported Xiu Yao out of that alley, people froze upon the sight. When they came back to reality, the clamorous shouting sounded from every direction.
“Isn’t that God’s Son?”
“Yeah, that’s for sure!”
“I heard he fled the twins into the Nefarious Valley. How can he be alive after a week in there?”
“Maybe it’s just a deception made by the Sikong Clan.”
“But why would they do that?”
“I don’t know. Just maybe.”
“I think he really survived a week in the Nefarious Valley. He’s God’s Son after all. He can definitely pull it off.”
“Who is the man beside him? His friend? Why does he have to put on a blindfold?”
“I don’t know. He does resemble one of the titled four suns. Maybe it’s him.”
“Which one are you talking about?”
“Why do you ask? We know the rest of the four suns quite well. That leaves the only one that hardly shows himself in front of the public.”
“Oh! The [Dark Sun]?!”
“Just maybe.”
“He seems to be injured. Should we help him? We might get to show our good side and curry a flavor for God’s Son.”
“Exactly what I’m thinking!”
Only a few moments and the crowd already swarmed their way to Feng Luotian and Xiu Yao. Giving out a wry laugh, Feng Luotian commented: “I should have taken you straight to the Peacock Pavilion while the concealment formation was still active. Now it had become more troublesome. Excuse me, Senior Brother. It’ll be a little rough but much faster like this. Bear with me!”
Placing Xiu Yao on his shoulder, Feng Luotian activated [Pinnacle Flash Lightning] and vanished from the middle of the crowd.
At the same time, a few shadows behind the crowd also disappeared and reported back to their master.
