With her shell flipped and her body exposed, she was now full of openings, yet Feng Luotian did not storm his way to attack the spider queen. Why? Because under the suppressive principle, how much damage could Feng Luotian deal with his current cultivation? He could only leave it to Xiu Yao to finish her off and get ready for another plan just in case.

Xiu Yao instantly leaped up high, holding the sword with his two hands. Upon accumulation of Theríon, the sword was entirely superimposed by dark shadow aura: “[Calling of Darkness]!!”

The encompassing darkness from everywhere in this place rushed toward his sword and merged with it, boosting the shadowy aura to an even higher level.

The darker the surrounding area was, the stronger this move became. Since there was nothing but darkness in this cavern, [Calling of Darkness] could exert its full potential.

Xiu Yao dropped down aiming at the center of the spider queen’s sternum. Following the merciless stab was a burst of darkness exploding from inside her body, causing blood to splashily gush out from within along with the queen’s thunderous screeching scream.

Retrieving and raising his sword, Xiu Yao walked in the direction of the queen’s head, planning to deliver another [Calling of Darkness] to finish the job.

However, the pain she was suffering and the accumulating aura on Xiu Yao’s sword made the queen instinctively flee away by shooting her strongest silk out of her spinneret gland, located at the ending tip of her abdomen, at the wall and hurriedly contracting it to drag her body out of its peril.

Not expecting the spider queen to be able to move, Xiu Yao who was focusing on his skill stumbled down from her body and landed on the ground.

As for the queen, after reaching the wall, she quickly crawled her way back to the ceiling, since she thought there was the safest place to be right now. Her black blood dripped down like rain as she tried to use her webs to patch around her wounds.

Never would she anticipate that attaching on one of the hanging corpses approximately close to her right now, there was a figure waiting to take action once she returned to the ceiling.

With a little movement, Feng Luotian swung the corpse back and forth to build momentum. Thanks to the commotion of their battle, it was only natural for the hanging things to sway.

Time passed by as Feng Luotian together with the corpse stealthily swung with more and more momentum. Realizing what Feng Luotian was about to do, Xiu Yao moved away from the center of the cavern and readied his skill. He could not help but comment: “This junior brother of mine is quite smart, isn’t he? How could he know that the queen would be retreating up there?”

Not waiting for any mishap to occur, Xiu Yao darted himself at the queen’s head. With the power of [Calling of Darkness], he slashed down and cut her head off with one swing of his sword. After a couple of wriggling motions, her remaining legs eventually curled up and stayed still forevermore.

Remark: Actually, spiders do not have heads. They have a cephalothorax. This is the part of the body that all the legs come out of, and consists of eyes, fangs, brain, and so on. But to keep it simple, I used the word ‘head’ here which includes the part where eyes and fangs are located. Severing it would cause so much trauma to the cephalothorax that the spider would be killed immediately. Read more in this reference link if you are interested.

While Xiu Yao was standing proudly and waiting for his junior brother to come and praise him, Feng Luotian completely ignored the guy and headed straight for his prize.

Starting with the head, he removed the spider queen’s fangs together with the venom gland and put them away. Although the Diamond Shell Spiders were not specialized in poison, this was still a venom from a Four Talons monster. While it was not lethal and could not be used in battle, it could provide some attributes when using in pill-making.

Continuing to the abdomen, Feng Luotian climbed over her dying corpse and stopped at the gap between the queen’s body and shell. He activated his [Underworld Physique] skill and detached her body from the shell. While the shell contained an immense weight, the body was not that heavy as its span was only a dozen meters or so. It was really hard to believe that this ‘little’ body could support the mountainous weight.

After that, Feng Luotian flipped her shell-less body with the back pointing upward, then he jabbed both arms into her abdomen, and with a full exertion of his power, he literally tore and split her abdomen’s flesh to two sides until he saw a long trail of the shiny scarlet stream from one end to another. Unlike the human’s heart, the spider’s heart stretched from the part where its cephalothorax and abdomen connected until it almost reached its anus.

Feng Luotian gave a bright smile while he carefully took it out of the body. This six-meter-long red lump of meat was the main goal of Feng Luotian as the Diamond Shell Spider Queen’s heart was a Demirium grade pill-making material. This was another treasure that could fetch a great deal of price from any alchemist. However, Feng Luotian did not plan to sell it to anyone. Once everything was in order, he would refine it into a pill by himself.

After storing the spider queen’s heart into his spatial ring, Feng Luotian walked to Xiu Yao who was now staring at his junior brother for quite some time. With the sight of Feng Luotian’s figure entirely covered in black blood and the stench it gave off, Xiu Yao waved his one hand then used another to cover his nose and mouth: “Stop right there, Junior Brother! Say your business and don’t get any closer!”

Feng Luotian found it funny because there was actually a way to silence this chatterbox, then he thought: “Speak of which, didn’t he also get the blood spray when he landed an attack at the queen’s sternum earlier? Why would he … Oh! When did he change his clothes? I never expected that he would be someone of strict hygiene.”

With a closer look, Xiu Yao’s clothes had already been changed to a new one. That surprised Feng Luotian with the unique personality of his senior brother.

Feng Luotian answered as his mind got back to business: “I just want to ask if you have a way to flip this shell upward, Senior Brother. The queen’s monster core should be at the top of the shell.”

Xiu Yao answered while still covering his nose and mouth: “I can do that, but go and change your clothes first while I’m at it!!”

Feng Luotian could only smile wryly then walked toward one corner and changed his clothes. Once he turned back after switching clothes for a new one, Xiu Yao had already accomplished the task.

This mesmerized Feng Luotian further: “How could he do it in such a short time, and without any sound at that? This guy is much stronger than he looks. Maybe his only weakness is his simple-mindedness. I should have watched when he flipped it before I changed my clothes!!”
