《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 24 : TU LINGXI

Feng Luotian sighed as he thought: "They are workers under our clan, yet they seem to know nothing about it. And they don’t even have any protection from the Clan. What’s Father doing all this while and let this all happen?"
Normally, the worker branch of the underworld would be given protection strong enough for them to survive in their environment, together with supplies and skill tomes to cultivate their workers. When their strength became sufficient, they would move to the new location to guide stronger dead souls.
However, observing the current situation, no support was provided to this village, not even a stable home to live in, while also being attacked by bandits whose existences could be considered lower than ants compared to the Demon God Clan’s cultivators. The Clan’s most useless formation could be set up to prevent even Wing Realm Masters from entering, much less someone in Fang Realm.
This made Feng Luotian confused and angry at the same time.
Noticing Feng Luotian became silent all of the sudden, Wu Ya asked: “What’s wrong, benefactor?”
Feng Luotian lamented: “Nothing. Just thinking about why you all have to live in this condition.”
Wu Ya smiled as she received his sympathy: “Don’t worry about it, benefactor. If it was not that we were occasionally attacked by the bandits, we are really happy with our lives.”
Wu Xin tugged Feng Luotian’s sleeve: “Come on, big brother!! I’ll take you to meet the village’s head.”
Feng Luotian asked: “Oh? You’re familiar with the village’s head?”
Wu Xin was skipping as she led the way in a cheerful manner: “Of course, he’s my father. Hehe.”
Feng Luotian finally understood her meaning as he turned to Wu Ya: “I see. That’s why she said it will be fine as long as we say it.” Wu Ya smiled and invited Feng Luotian into the village.
Feng Luotian was led to the biggest hut in the village. Along the way to that hut, Wu Ya passed the basket full of healing herbs to the healer of the village to treat those who were injured by the Bandit Troupe.

Upon entering the hut, a bulky man greeted Feng Luotian with a friendly attitude. Behind him, there were many muscular villagers standing in a circle. They were likely to be having a meeting just now.
“Benefactor, I heard you saved my wife and my daughter from those bandits. Please accept this lowly one’s gratitude.”
The village head, Wu Neng, cupped his hands and deeply bowed to Feng Luotian. He was a Seven Fangs Fighter, the strongest cultivator within the village.
This caused Feng Luotian to quickly receive the gesture: “You don’t have to do this, Village Head.”
Wu Neng insisted: “No. If you were not there, I might not have the chance to see my family again, so you deserve this, benefactor.”
Feng Luotian could only do as he said: “Okay. I will humbly accept your feeling. Please be at ease.”
Wu Neng gave another cupped hand: “Thank you, benefactor!!”
Feng Luotian interjected: “Please call me Luotian as my name is Luotian. Feng Luotian. I don’t like being called a benefactor all the time.”
“!!” Everyone in the room froze. Feng Luotian was confused by their reaction: “What’s wrong?”
Wu Neng asked: “Your surname is Feng, benefactor?”
“Yes. My name is Feng Luotian. Is there something wrong?”
People from the village were looking at each other without saying anything until Wu Neng replied to him: “No, nothing. We probably got the wrong person.”
Wu Neng then changed the subject and invited Feng Luotian to join their meeting: “Young Hero Feng, please sit with us.”
Feng Luotian did not mind not getting the answer from their previous reaction. Since they did not wish to divulge it, he would not push it. After he sat amongst the circle of people, Feng Luotian noticed another girl who was around 13 years of age.
She wore regular clothing without any accessories. She might not be considered to be beautiful like the goddess Mei Yue’er, she was quite adorable by her childish twin buns on her head along with her shy and timid appearances. Nevertheless, the light within her eyes was fierce enough to put out any thoughts of her being easy to bully.

Wu Xin caught the glance Feng Luotian beamed towards the girl. She ran behind him and whispered: “That’s Big Sister Tu I was talking about.”
Feng Luotian mumbled: “Mhm. As I thought.”
Name: Tu Lingxi
Level: Six Fangs
Bloodline: White Bolt Floral Rabbit
Bloodline Ability 1: Void Jump
The user can jump from anything without ricocheting or impacting the jumping ground.
Bloodline Ability 2: Petal Prance
Increase the user’s jump speed and jump force when jumping from a flower petal.
"Two bloodline abilities?!"
Feng Luotian was surprised, but not like the way he expected. He thought that he would meet a rare flying ability, but he met a bloodline that had two abilities instead, where the rarity between the two was about the same.
"I see, it’s no wonder she can fly."
Actually, she could not actually fly, but she used her ability as means to travel in the air.
Tu Lingxi noticed his gaze and returned it with a simple nod; Feng Luotian nodded back and the meeting resumed.
Wu Ya started: “I have something to report. When I was picking healing herbs with Xin’er, we accidentally met with the Troupe’s third squad. I defeated six of them whose cultivation was lower than Three Fangs, but I could not fight their squad leader and vice-leader, I ran. Afterward, they caught up and we were almost killed by Xiong Fan. Luckily, the Young Hero Feng saved us and killed him along with his vice-leader.”
After a short moment of silence, a commotion broke out amongst the crowd.
“Young Hero Feng killed Xiong Fan?”
“How’s that possible? I can’t even sense any cultivation from him.”
“And he looks just fine too. That means the battle must have been short and easy.”
Tu Lingxi looked at Feng Luotian in a new light. She too could not sense even one single ripple of Theríon from him. How could he kill someone at Six Fangs, and without injuries at that? Tu Lingxi herself could not defeat Xiong Fan, much less kill him uninjured.
Wu Ya smiled and added the fuel to the fire: “He used only two moves to twist Xiong Fan’s head off.”
“What?!”
“That’s bullshit!!”
“Who dares say my wife is bullshit. You’re looking for a beating.”
“But that’s not possible. He looks only 13 or 14!!”
The commotion got even louder and longer than before.
Tu Lingxi believed Wu Ya, as they were close: “Amazing!!”
The village head, Wu Neng asked: “May I know your real cultivation level, Young Hero Feng?”
Feng Luotian flatly answered: “I’m a Five Fangs Fighter.”
"Hiss!!" Everyone in the room could not help but take a full cold breath. Some of them even got goosebumps. Wu Ya, who told the story to tease the crowd, also did not expect this. She thought his cultivation would be much higher.
Wu Neng spoke as he cupped his hand: “You have my utter respect, Young Hero Feng.” And the rest of the villagers followed the suit.
Wu Neng resumed the meeting: “Well, let’s turn back to the main topic. With their third squad annihilated, their force should be considerably weakened. Nevertheless, with their Troupe Leader being an Eight Fangs Fighter, we still have no hope to contend against them. The only thing we could do now is to stay in a defensive position. The moment we saw the Troupe Leader, Sister Tu here will ambush their base to set their hideout on fire. This way the Troupe Leader won’t have an easy mind leaving his place.”
After Wu Neng finished, the rest nodded their heads.
But suddenly, Feng Luotian interjected: “I disagree.”
