《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginning Of The End - Part 011

A couple hours passed by before I was awoken by the informant. He seemed a bit annoyed that he found me sleeping upon a pile of books. Though, he didn’t bother saying anything about it. Instead he simply sat down in front of me and waited until I seemed like I was listening.
“Galahad has allowed us to use our resources to search for Tartarus. We don’t know how long this will take though. There may even be a chance that we never find it. I hope this is understandable?” the informant said with a tired face.
“That’s more than enough. Thank you. I’m going to disappear for a while and I’ll reappear here in one year to check up on the progress.” I said before closing my eyes and focusing on the exact spot I was sitting, a year into the future.
“Wait, what do you mean by that?” the informant asked right as I disappeared.
Opening my eyes again I saw the same library. Nothing was different except that it was pitch black. I stood up and began stumbling around the bookshelves in order to make my way to the door from memory. As I did though the door opened up to reveal a woman in her late thirties holding a torch. Without much need for words she touched the torch as close to the oil bowl as she could in order to illuminate the room.
As the light filled the room, the woman’s features became more apparent. She was dressed in a similar way to the last informant but it seemed a bit nicer. Her almost black hair reflected the light from the burning lamps along with her glazed over eyes. She seemed to carry an aura of a nun but there was something off.

“Hello there. You must be Sir Micheal? I’m an informant for the church under the orders of Sir Galahad.” she said with a bow.
“Yes, hello. Um… where is the informant that I had met last time?” I asked with a confused tone.
“Oh, well, you see, he has passed away.” she answered with a concerned tone.
“What! How?” I asked.
“He was in Greece when he got afflicted by a nasty illness. Such a poor fate. He was bedridden for weeks before he died.” she said as she shook her head.
“... I see.” Well, was he able to find anything about Tartarus?” I asked.
“He was. However, he wasn’t the only one looking for it. It seems that Merlin was also looking for it. Thankfully we were able to find it first. We’ve done our best to hide any information that he could use to find it. That said, he may still find it despite our efforts as we can only do so much without bringing attention to ourselves.” the informant replied.
“Thank you. If I could get that information then I’ll be on my way.” I said. She let out a discouraged huff before handing me a rolled-up piece of parchment.
“Galahad expected this so he had me bring it with me. It’s a map of the surrounding area of Olympus. Just go to the marked spot. We have some other informants who can guide you the rest of the way.” the informant said.
“Thank you. You have no idea how much this may help.” I replied gratefully.
“You’re welcome. If there is anything else you need then don’t hesitate to ask.” she said with another bow before waving her hands. Suddenly, the flames burning in the oil bowls and pipes all died down before going out completely. The only light left was coming from her torch.

Since this probably meant that she didn’t want me in here anymore I sat down, closed my eyes, and focused on Greece. Well, not exactly Greece. Since I had no clue what Greece even looked like at this moment. I just thought about the architecture. Mainly the pillars and buildings that you would see on a postcard or some kind of museum picture. When I opened my eyes again I was sitting on a boulder next to a large rectangular temple-like structure with pillars holding it up. Looking around I could see that I was on a rocky hilltop.
“I guess we’re here.” I said out loud. Just as I did Lily appeared out of the pendant.
“This looks interesting! Where are we?” Lily asked as she looked at the building.
“Somewhere in Greece but I’m not sure where.” I said as I rubbed the back of my neck and looked around. It wasn’t a bad place to be really. It kind of looks like a good place to bring a lunch or something. After looking around for a minute I decided to take a look at the map. Lily was still looking around while I did this so I didn’t pay her much attention.
Looking at the map, it seemed like it was… in the middle of the city? Looking at the map, again and again, to see if I was seeing it incorrectly but it seemed like the entrance to Tartarus is in the middle of the freaking city. Oh, that lady did say that someone would lead me the rest of the way. I guess this is just a meeting spot. There were some scribbles on the bottom of the page but I couldn’t read it because it was in French.
“Compton, can you read this?” I asked. Several minutes later after I kept calling for him, he finally came out of the pendant.
“What?” he yelled.
“Can you read this?” I asked as I handed him the map. With a sigh, he angrily took it and read the words scribbled on the bottom of the map.
“It says that the city on the map is Athens and based on what I see, we are at the Acropolis. I think I killed someone near here once.” he said as he handed the map back to me.
“Thanks.” I replied as I tried to ignore that last part.

The Flame in the Forge (A Slice of Life Isekai LitRPG)
Thrown into a world he doesn’t recognise, Niall Vendra has to adapt, learn and fight to survive. Physically, emotionally, personally. If Niall wants to save his family, then the man he was needs to transform. Surrounded by Minotaurs, Fae and Magic, Niall will have to reinvent himself as both a warrior and an artisan. Growth won’t be fast and it won’t be easy, but with patience and hard work, Niall can earn the Skills, Abilities and Classes to battle his way to the top. The Flame In The Forge is a LitRPG Isekai/Portal fantasy. You should expect slice of life with conflict and an overarching mystery to be solved. Niall will be both a crafter (primarily, but not exclusively, as a blacksmith) and a fighter. There won’t be a harem. But don't worry, there will be both flames and forges! I should be clear that while this is very much LitRPG, it's story led and I have tried to make it feel believable. So, for example, the first blue box doesn't appear until chapter 6. I hope that the payoff is worth it. Compared to some LitRPGs you may find the pace rather gentle at times. There will be some periods where it feels like Niall is eking out every level and others when, for good reasons, he makes a significant leap. My goal though is to give you a satisfying story, so that dictates when and how Niall's stats and skills change. I can reassure you that I fully intend for Niall to become immensely powerful, but I want you to feel like he has earned every level in a realistic way.
