《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginning Of The End - Part 007

While Compton worked on reading Elysif, Lily, and I decided to play around. There wasn’t much to do but there was a deck of cards among Iscarat’s things so we were able to play a few games before an informant returned. Though,as soon as he returned and saw that there were now four of us he set down the basket of bread and cheeses before leaving so that, from what I assumed, was to get more food.
When he returned, he brought even more food as I assumed and ended up leaving us be. However, he did seem a little off put at the sight of Lily since she had wings and all. But it wasn’t enough of an issue for him to care. Thus, we were left alone again with Compton doing all the work and the rest of us playing games. He didn’t seem to mind though. In fact, he seemed to like the job a lot.
“How goes the search? Anything interesting?” I asked as I brought him some bread and cheese. He set the book he was looking at down before giving me a look of self loathing.
“Awful. Either it’s the same information we already had or it’s not worth even knowing about. For example, Merlin is capable of making exactly two-hundred and fifty soldiers to fight for him but if he tries to make more he’ll pass out.” Compton said.
“That actually seems like useful information to me.” I replied.
“It would be if it wasn’t for the fact that he can make significantly more than that in the future. Whenever he and Mordred fought Iscarat there was a rumor that he created over four hundred soldiers during their fight.” Compton said with a disgruntled tone.
“Didn’t Iscarat win that fight?” I asked.

“Well, yes, but also no. He won but was so tired afterwards that he offered a truce so that he wouldn’t have to fight the rest of the Agency that was there. Thus, they formed a treaty.” Compton replied.
“... I see. Though aren’t you learning how to use his sorcery pretty well? If you could master it then perhaps you could stand a chance against him by yourself.” I said hopefully.
“Probably not. It took Iscarat years to master it and he was the one who invented it. He knew the ins and outs of it by heart while I can barely come up with the formula to throw things.” Compton said as he closed his eyes and a stack of books fell through a hole before falling from the ceiling at high speeds.
“Well, that doesn’t mean you can’t learn. We still have a lot to do so you’ll have plenty of time to master it.” I said as cheerfully as possible.
“Thanks.” he said before picking up the book he was reading through and trying to translate it as best that he could. The bread and cheese I brought for him still waited for him by his side. Since he was diligently going back to his work I left him be and went back to playing with Elysif and Lily.

Meanwhile, Elijah Langston sat in his bed staring at the sword he had hanging on the wall. At this point it was no more than a decoration but it still brought back old memories. Memories of when he could actually do something to help people. Though those days had passed long ago. As he lay there reminiscing he heard the door open.
“Father, there’s someone here to see you.” Arthur said as he walked inside.

“No more visitors please. The last one took it all out of me.” Elijah said with a tired tone.
“Even an old friend such as myself?” he heard the familiar voice of Mordred ask. The sound of her voice perked him up quite a bit.
“No, no, please come in!” Elijah said ecstatically as he sat up and straightened himself out on his bed. Mordred then came in looking no different than she did before. She hadn’t even aged a day.
“What brings you here? I thought that you and Merlin were traveling around to quell the neighbors' uprisings and deal with some of the Danes?” Elijah asked.
“That's true. However, we heard you weren’t doing well so we decided to come and visit.” Mordred said with a smile.
“We?” Elijah asked as he looked out the door to see Merlin waiting outside. As his gaze focused on Merlin he could see the wizard's face shift into a cruel smile as he lifted a finger to his lips. Elijah took a big gulp out of fear before looking back at Mordred.
“Yeah, Merlin and I. Though, you said you had another visitor?” she asked curiously. Elijah began to panic at the question but kept himself controlled for the most part.
“Oh, nothing. Just someone on a pilgrimage. Nothing more. How goes your search?” he asked in order to change the subject.
“Oh, that… So far we have yet to find any information on the Masked Man. it’s like he vanished into thin air. However, we still intend on finding him.” she said with a downtrodden expression.
“I see… Could you promise me something?” Elijah asked.
“Of course, what is it?” she asked.
“Protect my family. Do not let anything happen to them and please take my sword with you. It is only a decoration at this point so I have no use for it. Though, I would have the hilt fixed. It seems the pommel has started to come loose.” Elijah said with an almost worried tone. Mordred only smiled at him as if he was the last person she could count on despite him being the one to ask the favor.
“I’ll do what I can.” she replied.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.
