《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 042

Once I had finished packing what lI could for Medea I went back to my room where Medea was waiting for me. She looked like she was also packing a bag happily. I didn’t want to have to tell her that she couldn’t come with me but it is necessary. If I didn’t tell her that she couldn’t come then she might be ready to go tomorrow and then hate me for ditching her without any reason.
“Medea?” I said. She turned to look at me with a smile on her face.
“If you’re going then I’m going too. I can’t just leave you with whoever that woman was to steal away your innocence. I’m almost done packing my bag.” she said. Did she just say my innocence? Hopefully she doesn’t understand what that means. However, I have a feeling that she does.
“Well, she isn’t going to take away my innocence as you put it. You don’t have to worry about that. Though, I can’t let you come with me this time.” I said as I sat down on the bed and set the bag I had prepared beside me. She looked at me with a confused look.
“What do you mean?” she asked like a child who didn’t understand why they were being punished would.
“Because last time you came along you were kidnapped and nearly lost your innocence yourself. I can’t risk that again. So you will be staying here.” I said kindly but firmly.
“B-but, I can be more careful! I promise I’ll be safe.” she begged.
“I’m sorry. There are things that may happen while I’m away and I’d rather you not be there for it. Just trust me on this, okay?” I replied.
“Okay…” she said as her entire body shifted from her original happy style to that of a more depressed one. Reaching out to her I gave her a hug.

“Don’t worry about anything. Though promise me that if you hear any bad news about me then you need to take this bag and run. Go into hiding wherever you can and use what’s in here to pay for whatever you need.” I said caringly. She hugged me in return and looked up at me.
“I promise.” she stated firmly.
“Alright. Now, when was the last time you had a bath?” I asked.
“Since we left camelot.” she said with a questionable look.
“So the same as me huh? Well, we both stink. Let’s take a bath, alright?” I said. However, as soon as I said that, Elysif appeared out of the pendant and whacked me across the head.
“Where did you come from and why did you hit him, you cow?” Medea asked with an angry tone after she fell back due to me accidentally throwing her in reaction to being hit.
“First off, don’t call me a cow! Second, you aren’t bathing with him. You can bathe with me instead. He can bathe on his own if he wants. I swear, I leave him alone for a single day.” Elysif said before biting her lip in anger and dragging Medea down the hall by her wrist.
“Micheal, help me!” Medea called out as she was dragged from the room. I doubted that Elysif would do anything to her. They’ll be fine... I hope.
“Make sure to scrub behind your ears!” I called out to them as I rubbed my head where she hit me. It didn’t really hurt but the fact that she hit me hurt my ego.
Since they had left to go bathe I followed in suit and found one of the open baths. I could hear Medea yelling at Elysif from the one next me. However, it was nothing more than Medea trying to figure out who the hell Elysif was so I ignored it. Climbing into my own bath, it was freezing. The water wasn’t warm at all and it made it difficult for me to enjoy it. So I took what looked like a large block of soap and began washing myself. It was coarse and hurt but it didn’t matter. It was better than being dirty.

After a few minutes in the bath I heard the sound of Elysif shrieking, followed by the sound of her yelling about how cold the water was. It actually made me chuckle a bit. The next bit made me burst out laughing though as I heard Elysif yelling at Medea with an ear wrenchingly high pitch voice for splashing her. I think they heard me laughing though as the next I heard was Elysif yelling at me to stop laughing.
I didn’t hear much after that. Though, it wasn’t like I was trying to listen in on their conversation. I could still hear them but it was so muffled through the stone wall that it was unrecognisable. Since I didn’t want to stay here long I finished cleaning myself and went back to my room. A good twenty minutes later Elysif and Medea came back to the room. Both of them looked a bit more comfortable with each other so I should be grateful
“Well, I’m going back in. I don’t think there will be many problems.” Elysif said as she walked over to me.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked.
“We just talked for a bit and had a proper heart to heart discussion.” Elysif said with a sly smile before grabbing the pendant around my neck and disappearing inside of it.
“What did she mean by that?” I asked Medea. She suddenly turned bright red and turned away from me as if she was incredibly embarrassed about something.
“Medea, what did she say to you?” I asked with a worried, yet somewhat demanding voice.
“...”
“Medea?”
“It’s nothing!” Medea said before walking over to the bed, climbing onto it and covering herself with the blanket. Knowing that I probably wasn’t going to get a straight answer, I didn’t push any further and went to dinner.

I Need Time
An action, adventure, mystery and strategy story about a strong male lead. Author note: First time author, good amount of buffer chapters (over 50k words) so I will not drop this book anytime soon. This book will mostly be from the perspective of the MC. On average +5k words will be published per week. I have not chosen some of the genres and tags as I do not wish to give away parts of the story. I added the content warning tags as there will come a time for profanities, gore and maybe "traumatising" content. Though, in my opinion the content will be mild if not light. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER***** Synopsis: A college ICT student transmigrates to another world filled with magic and learns magic from a dragon. MC uses modern knowledge to develop magitech technology. MC starts his adventure using the technology he develops! Saving princesses, fighting hidden criminal organizations, learning how horribly medieval peasants live, reasoning with uneducated narrow minded people, investigating the nature of magic and searching for gods... Story review: A fantasy/sci-fi story filled with some common cliches yet presents somewhat original ideas and a few unexpected twists & turns here and there. This novel also explores a few of the commonly ignored topics concerning medieval fantasy like hygiene, culture, education(ignorance, narrow mindedness) and the fact that everybody is short because magical crops cost too much. Modern knowledge in such a setting can often times revolutionize the world if the protagonist is not an idiot or weak willed or thinks something stupid like he should not intervene in a society that systematically practices unequality of opportunity, slavery and other nasty things, of course sometimes the protagonist can be just unlucky by being enslaved, etc. In our case we are granted a protagonist who had an initial stroke of luck, learning magic from a dragon instead of struggling for years without it or randomly dieing. After that his luck goes down the drain. It is arguable whether the princess is a good stroke of luck or not, I digress. Anyway the challenges the protagonist must face will grow and no more luck or helping hands. After gaining enough power and security the protagonist will change the world for the better or at least give it a stronge push onto the right track. He will make a lot of lives better but things are never so simple and there is much more to this world than meets the eye... Missing genres & tags: Fantasy, Sci-fi, Magic. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER*****

The Card Thief of Culnivar
Deep with the cozy kingdom of Daeton, among the generation-old farmlands and villages, a young farmer’s daughter stumbles upon a dead man. His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

Vanisher
Joshua Hall is an intelligent and promising college sophomore. But when he accidentally witnesses Sara Wilder, a new and quirky acquaintance, receive an eldritch mark of possibility from her mother, everything changes. Josh can now see marks, eldritch symbols of power brought from another plane of existence that empower the weak and the futureless, that are invisible to most. But that's not the only thing that he's seeing, as strange dreams haunt Josh's sleep and threaten to destroy his sanity. With his mind and body struggling to handle the impossible things he can now perceive, Josh has to decide: accept a mark himself, or attempt to forget everything. This is a bit of an experimental project for me, as it isn't my norm in genre or topic. Expect: -Slow build storytelling -Character details -Foreshadowing -Dialogue driven narrative -Dynamic action scenes -Some mild graphic descriptions of injury -Sexuality is a factor -No explicit content (at least not directly) -Mild body horror -Light cosmic horror Reviews and critique are highly encouraged. I am a civil and fair responder, don't be afraid to initiate a conversation. If you see this story posted anywhere outside of RoyalRoad or Inkitt, please let me know as those are the only sites I currently host on. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

The Traveling Dungeon
Dale had finally started to get a hold of his existence as a dungeon core. His dungeon was working, the challenges were popular, he had a large swath of texts on magic to work through, and his core was as protected as he could reasonably make it. Everything should have been perfect. Then he reached a tad too far, grabbed ahold of a new skill for the manipulation of Essence and so began his ascension to godhood! Which was a nice way of saying his soul was sucked through space, torn and shredded, and shoved into a conceptual body.ie, he appeared in the Hall of the Gods suddenly. Without clothing. This would have been simply an amusing anecdote if he wasn't then instantly yanked out of the Hall of the Gods by a person who appeared to be cos-playing a cross between a plumber and accountant. Oh, and he had a grip like iron and could freeze the other gods at will. A small detail, but a concerning one.Now Dale is forced to deal with being a God, a Dungeon Core, and act as the lynchpin in a divine universe jailbreak attempt.Oh, and of course, the Gods still have all the drama that you would expect. Naturally.
