《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 038

“Well, now I I’m alone again…” I said to myself with a sigh. I really wanted to talk with her for a bit. Though I couldn’t just ignore how tired she looked. Now that I think about it, if she’s been staying up to watch over me then I should probably be more grateful to her for it. I mean, I was just complaining to myself about how much work I have to do and yet I never once thought about how much everyone else was doing.
I guess I’m not that good of a person after all. Mordred is finally getting to spend time with her dad instead of being around me all the time, Compton is doing the best he can to learn what Iscarat left behind and carry on his legacy, and Elysif is finally getting some much needed rest after staying up to watch my ass. What have I been doing? The bare minimum.
“Man, I really need to be less selfish.” I said to myself.
“What are you talking about?” I heard a voice say from inside the pendant. Before I could react, Lily appeared out of the pendant with a confused look on her face.
“I mean, I should start thinking about what everyone else needs rather than what I need.” I stated to the confused fairy.
“But don’t you do that already?” she asked as she tilted her head to the side before sitting down on one of the unburnt logs among the pile of rubble.
“I don’t really think so.” I replied.
“But you have been teaching Medea how to read without ever needing to or being asked. You have been working to fight for Arthur even though you have no need to. Everyone else is relying on you to beat Merlin not because they asked you to but because you wanted to help. You could have done anything else but instead you’re sticking with them and helping them.” Lily said adamantly.

“But-” I started to say.
“No! I may have been forced to be your servant but that doesn’t mean I’m going to let you beat yourself up over something that isn’t true. You are a good person whether you think you are or not.” Lily interrupted with an angry tone. Once she had finished her rant she looked like she was pouting.
“I’m sorry. I guess you’re right.” I said, now feeling like I’ve made her mad.
“Damn straight!” she said with a smile. It didn’t look right for someone of her size to say that phrase nor did it seem to match the era she was in. she probably learned it from one of the others which made me worry for her. I hope Mordred and Elysif haven’t been teaching her anything bad. As for why I’m not including Compton in that is because he is far more mature than either of them; and Mordred’s lived for over thirteen hundred years. You would think she’d be the mature one.
“Please don’t use that phrase. It doesn’t suit you.” I said as I lifted up a burnt log and began carrying it out of the building. Lily got up and followed after me.
“What do you mean it doesn’t suit me?” she asked in the demanding tone of a child. “Hey, hey, don’t ignore me!” Although I wasn’t technically ignoring her, I did find it amusing how she kept chasing after me when I was obviously doing something so I didn’t answer her. Once I set the log down though, it was a different story.
“It doesn’t suit you because you’re not from the era in which that saying was invented and I find it kind of funny when you say it due to you looking like a child.” I said truthfully. She wasn’t happy with my answer.

“You’re an asshole!” she yelled at me before flying off. Knowing how well she got along with Medea she was probably heading towards her.
The day continued on as usual and I ended up clearing out two houses before the sun set. I was tired and felt like crashing so I headed to my room where I planned on sleeping the moment I got there. However, when I opened the door to my room I saw Elysif, Medea, and Lily all sitting on the bed talking. They all stopped and looked at me the moment I walked in like I was some freak of nature.
“Micheal, I have some questions for you.” Medea said as if she had caught me in a lie or something similar.
“Um… okay?” I replied.
“First of all, I heard that you were mean to Lily. why?” Medea asked as she crossed her arms. It was actually pretty adorable.
“I wasn’t trying to be.” I said. Although I was just messing with her and wasn’t sure why this was a big deal.
“You can’t do that. It was mean. Second, who is this woman? She said that she’s your lover and she has the same voice as the thing you were talking with this morning.” Medea asked in a way that made her sound jealous. Elysif just rolled her eyes and Lily looked like she would rather be anywhere else at the moment.
“I never agreed to that.” I said as I nudged my head in a way that I hoped Lily would understand. Thankfully she did and Lily blew something in Medea’s face. Medea’s eyes fluttered for a second before she fell on the bed asleep.
“Thanks Lily. sorry for messing with you earlier but I’m too tired to deal with that at the moment so I’m going to sleep.” I said before falling on the bed.

REAL
An ancient hunchback named Finnel is the principal of a school where students’ special abilities might be called magical, supernatural powers. Or, maybe those students’ heightened attributes are more like honed talents any ordinary person could discover and dedicate to developing. Either way, at Finnel's school, even the most otherworldly of traits always finds its source in something REAL . . . in actual human capacities, like intuition, empathy, awareness, strength... REAL is a series of ongoing tales, each centered around an individual student at Finnel's school. Framing slice-of-life authenticity with cool powers and uplifting humor, REAL maintains a light, fun tone while never shying away from digging down deep into weighty themes like identity, connection, and meaning.
