《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 063

After all but Lily and Elysif left I finished eating before going over to the bed and lying down. Lily didn’t say anything and neither did Elysif but I could tell they wanted to say something. Their body language was just too obvious.
“Okay, what is it?” I asked whilst sitting back up and looking at them both.
“... I wanted to say I was sorry.” Lily said with a bit of regret on her tongue.
“How come?”
“I wasn’t helping you at all when you fought Oberon and Titania. It was just too scary for me to do anything.” she said apologetically. Despite the fact that less than two weeks ago she tried to feed me to a monster she actually seemed to care. I couldn’t tell if it was because she was being forced out of fear of Oberon and Titania or if it was because she was starting to feel like part of our group. Either way it was nice.
“Don’t worry about it. None of you can heal up like I can so helping me with that fight would have been a death sentence. Elysif, Compton, and Iscarat are the only ones who can really help with fights like that because they can attack from inside the pendant. I’m glad you care though.” I replied as I walked over and patted her on the shoulder. She went from being sad to really happy all of the sudden and flew off.
“I’m going to go to the hot spring with the others. You should come too because you don’t smell very good.” she said as she flew after the others.
“I can’t tell if she’s carefree or if she’s acting.” I said while rubbing my head. Though when I turned around Elysif was still sitting there. Now she seemed a little ticked off but at the same time wanted to speak.

“I know you want to say something. You might as well say it.” I said before sitting across from her at the table.
“I’ve just been thinking. Why is it that Oberon and Titania are helping us. They gain nothing from this and based on their actions when the other was hurt or tired, they don’t like to put themselves in harms way. On top of that, we have no plan for beating Merlin. Hell, we don’t even know what he plans on doing so coming up with a strategy is next to impossible.” she stated with a bit of annoyance.
“Yeah, I have been wondering that myself. It just doesn’t make sense. However, so long as I’m alive we have a lot of time to figure it out.” I said.
“That doesn’t help me. Also, I know that Mordred isn’t saying anything about it but she’s worried too. Compton is too.” she said.
“I get it but we can’t formulate a plan without knowledge of the enemy. Which we don’t have. Mordred has been lied to this whole time so it would be stupid to go off her information about him. Maybe Titania and Oberon have some information about him that they can spare. They do live in a forest that is immune to the effects of time so it wouldn’t be impossible for them to know exactly what Merlin is doing.” I said.
“True, but why would they even help us? This whole thing doesn’t make sense as I can’t find any reason for them to do what they’re doing.” Elysif said.
“I can’t think of a reason either. Does Mordred know why they were willing to do this?” I asked.
“No, she said that she asked nicely and thought they agreed because of the treaty they have with her father. She never really thought much of it until now.” she said with a downtrodden look.

“Well that doesn’t help us.” I replied before laying my head on the table.
“Though she is right.” Elysif said.
“Right about what?”I asked with a confused tone.
“You do smell bad. I would say you need to take a bath.” she said before throwing me a towel from beside her. “You could also use a haircut.”
“I’ll take a bath. As for my hair, I figured I might as well grow it out to see how it looks.” I said as I took notice of the fact that my hair was now down to my shoulders. “Though it shouldn’t be growing this fast.”
“I agree, maybe this place is causing it to grow faster. I’m not sure though but do what you want with it.” she said before picking up her own towel and walking towards the hot spring.
“Did you plan on all of us going to the hot spring?” I asked.
“A good strategist plans for everything so of course I did.” she said sassily as she walked away.
“Fair point.” I said before following her.
After the few minute walk to the hot spring we were surprised to see that Oberon and Titania were both in the hot spring already. Sitting beside them was a very uncomfortable Mordred and Compton. Then beside them was a surprisingly comfortable Iscarat. Lily was also sitting with them but she looked stiff as a board out of fear. As soon as we appeared though all but Iscarat gave us a look that we both knew meant, help us!

Molting the Mortal Coil
Reincarnated as a child in a new world a mild mannered programmer, named Sage, finds himself struggling to survive. The road to immortality is paved with danger, treasure, and conflict. This mystical eastern world is filled with Demonic Beasts, Treacherous Cultivators, and Extraordinary Legacies. Follow Sage on his journey to adapt to this new world, and find out if he can overcome the limitations of body, mind, and soul. Will he rise to the occasion and become a hero? Or maybe he'll turn to the dark side and end up a villain? Molting the Mortal Coil is more of a slower paced journey. It's not about endless battles and conquering the next bad guy who spits on the main characters shoes or sends him a funny look. There's also not a treadmill of tournaments or love interests. It's more of a slower burn with lots of, and hopefully not too much, world building. It's still supposed to be stuffed with action, but that won't pick up for a while since we start with a weakling. The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better. I plan to re-write and add more to the first 30 in the future, but if you can push through I feel it gets much more fun after! Updates will be weekly.
