《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 062

We fought her for what felt like days. It probably had been as the sun kept setting and rising as we fought. Elysif’s attacks had no effect but Compton’s sword seemed to be causing her some concern as she kept dodging it. I also attacked with the practice sword and like before I ended up getting an appendage blown off. Compton seeing my appendages get blown off caused him to scream and I had never heard him scream before that but I have to say it was amusing despite my pain.
Eventually Titania just stopped.it was almost as if she had fallen asleep while standing up. I tried to attack her when she did but as soon as I got close a tree grew from the ground and wrapped its branches around me like a cage. The branches twisted and turned until I was forced against the tree and held in place. It was then that Oberon walked over and picked up Titania in a princess carry.
“What the hell Oberon!” I yelled.
“Ssh! She’s tired from fighting you so much. We’ll call it a draw for now. Do what you wish and relax for now because I’ll be coming to fight you again after this.” Oberon said in a hushed tone.
“Can’t you let me out of this?” I asked as he started to walk away.
“Of course.” he replied in a hushed tone. Once he was out of the clearing the tree started to morph open before returning to the ground as it had appeared. Since I too was tired I fell to the ground and laid down.
“How long was I fighting?” I asked with a tired tone.
“We fought her for nearly a week without stopping. I think this place is really messing with us.” Compton said.

“How are you two?” I asked.
“Tired but alright. Elysif passed out an hour ago and I’m on the verge of collapsing.” Compton stated with a yawn.
“Okay, well I’m going to sleep now.” I said as I drifted off to sleep right where I was. When I awoke I was on the tree bed with Lily staring in my face. Everyone else was sitting at a table eating and drinking.
“He’s awake!” Lily exclaimed as she ran over to the table.
“Good morning.” Mordred said.
“Yeah, about time you woke up.” Elysif said.
“Cut him some slack. He got his arms and legs removed several times. That’s got to be tiring and traumatic.” Compton said.
“I hope you can tell me in detail how that felt.” Iscarat said disturbingly.
“How long was I out?” I asked, ignoring Iscarat.
“Nearly three days. We were actually getting worried. ELysif however, assured us you would be fine.” Mordred said.
“Well, that’s a long time. Did you save me anything to eat?” I asked as I sat down.
“We didn’t have to.” Compton said as one of the leprechauns walked over with a plate of food and another brought a pitcher of water. I thanked the leprechauns and began scarfing down food like I had a second stomach.
“At least you're eating so that means you should be alright.” Elysif said. Either she has forgotten about the fact that I heal up fairly fast or she is just genuinely concerned. Either way, I’m glad she cares.
“So what do you all want to do today? I’m feeling like hitting up that hot spring again.” Compton asked.
“I feel like taking a nap.” I replied as I continued eating.
“Don’t be a lazy bum!” Mordred said with a bit of anger. I think she wanted to go to the hot spring too.

“Don’t yell at him. He just got his ass kicked like he was a ball in some kids game. Don’t you feel any sympathy?” Lily asked. Now, I felt like shit. She just openly insulted me.
“I’m sorry, I just don’t want him to start getting lazy.” Mordred said.
“I get it but I just feel tired.” I said as I started drinking from the pitcher of water.
“Anyways, I’m going to the hot spring.” Compton said as he got up. “I even brought a towel.” he continued as he held up a large rag towel.
“I’m going too.” Mordred said as she got up. She was also already holding a towel.
“I might as well go too.” Iscarat said before getting up and following them.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
