《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 043

That ended the practice for the day and it seemed to bearound three or four in the afternoon so I went inside the castle with Medea. We did as we did the day before and went over basic English. I felt really dumb going over the sounds of each letter and how to write it with her. That said, she seemed to enjoy it to a degree so I didn’t mind. After I had spent a good two hours going over the alphabet I went to take a bath before dinner.
Since no one tried to stop me this time then I assumed that it was okay. I decided to bring the pendant with me though, just in case. I walked inside and took off the pendant first. Laying it on a bench I started to undress. Just as I was getting my pants off I looked over to see Compton standing beside me. He two was getting undressed.
“Can I help you?” I asked sassily.
“No, I can get in the bath without help.” he replied to counter my sass.
“Okay then.” I said as I continued to remove my clothes.
The bath water was just barely warm as I got in. It didn’t send a chill up my spine nor did it seem hot. In fact, it was nearly perfect for my sore body. The running had made my legs completely sore. Compton was not against the water either but he did make some rather unhappy noises as he entered the water.
“So why do you want to take a bath here?” I asked.
“Mordred is currently taking a bath in the pendant so I figured I would join you out here. However, now that I’ve been in here, I really think I should have just waited. The bath in there is significantly warmer. That said, I really wanted out. I have done nothing but read, eat, and sleep for the past few days.” Compton replied.

“You have a bathtub?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
“Well, any thoughts on Merlin? You did work with him for a bit.” I asked.
“I don’t know. He always seemed like he wanted to create peace. I never really saw him in a bad light until he tried to kill us.” Compton said.
“Did he ever give you any indication as to what his motives may be?” I asked as if I was grasping at straws.
“Not once. The only thing I can think of is that he is trying to summon his dead wife.” Compton stated.
“Isn’t that the Lady of the Lake?” I asked.
“Yeah. according to Mordred. She was killed by Sir Balin due to a disagreement. Wait, can you stop her from dying?”
“I could but the universe would just correct it and she’ll get killed some other way according to Tim.” I said discouragingly.
“That makes it harder. Could you perhaps learn a bit from him as to what he may be motivated by while you are here?” Compton suggested.
“I’ll see what I can do. He seems to be busy though as I only saw him once since we got here.” I said.
“Alright. Though, I have to ask. Do you have a thing for anyone?” he asked.
“I don’t really know. Elysif keeps calling me her lover even though I never agreed to it so I guess we’re dating. Though, I’m not really sure.” I said.
“What about Mordred?” he asked.
“Nah, she’s too old for me.” I said jokingly.
“No, I’m being serious.” he replied with a chuckle.
“I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.” I said.
“Well, whatever. I figured I could ask and hopefully you would have an answer but no, you don’t have a preference at the moment.”

“Well, what about you? Anyone you want to be with? Any preferences?” I asked.
“My only preference is that they’re breathing and somewhere around my age.” he stated.
“That’s not very specific.” I replied.
“Well, I was a traveling Agent so I got to enjoy a lot of different preferences while I was away. Not a single person was to my displeasure.” He said with a bit of pride.
“So you’re easy?”
“What? No!” he replied angrily.
With that I got out of the bath and began throwing my clothes back on. Compton did the same since he didn’t know the way to the room. Once he was dressed and inside the pendant I went back to the bedroom and went to sleep.
