《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 041

With that response I received a quick slap before she ended up getting back inside the pendant. Since she was gone I went to sleep and the next morning I received a knock on my door. Rather than waiting for me to answer it Medea walked in followed by Mordred. She was clad in her training armor and without wasting any time she threw me a set of training armor. The weight of this armor slamming into me made me groan in pain.
“Get up. I was asked to give you some training and it starts now. Put that on and meet me out in the practice field.” Mordred said before walking out. The door shut before I could even say anything in response.
“What’s going on, Medea?” I asked.
“Sir Mordred was asked by the King to train you and as such I have to help her get you ready.” she said.
“Oh, thanks. I guess I should get up before she gets pissed.” I replied before standing up and throwing the surprisingly heavy armor over my clothes. The weight of it was difficult to manage but I would have to get used to it. That said I still threw on my coat over top of it. It was cold out anyways so I would probably need it.
As I entered the training field I was greeted by a slightly annoyed Mordred. She almost looked like she wanted to watch me suffer. Was it what happened last night that set her off. It would make sense for that to be it since future Mordred was trying to stop whatever I did wrong.
“So what do we have to start us off?” I asked her.
“I’m glad you asked. First I want you to run thirty laps around the castle. That armor has two layers with sand between them so it will weigh you down a lot.” she said. No wonder they were so heavy.

“Wait, thirty laps?” I asked as I looked at the size of the castle. It wasn’t very tall but it’s diameter was something to consider.
“Yes, now I did ask Medea and my maidservant to make sure that you had water while you ran so you should be happy about that. After you’ve run then we’ll start swordsmanship.” she stated with a scary grin.
“Alright.” I replied before starting to jog counter clockwise around the castle. As I did Elijah walked up to Mordred.
“Do you really intend on training that man? He’s weird as hell.” Elijah asked Mordred.
“My father asked me to, so I figured I should. Plus, I think it’s fun to mess with this guy.” she replied.
“Speaking of that. Why didn’t you ever tell me that your father is King Arthur?” Elijah asked with a slightly scolding tone.
“Would you have believed me? I think it would be pretty weird to hear that the only female knight is also the bastard child of the King the Britons.” Mordred replied casually.
“Yeah, I feel like that would be the perfect excuse for someone to usurp the throne. Though, that isn’t your style at all is it?” Elijah said.
“I couldn’t care at all who is King. If Arthur decides to make me King then I’ll have to accept. However, I doubt that will be the case. It will most likely be my half-brother since he is the rightful heir. He is a good man so I would be happy if he became King instead of myself. Plus, I don’t think that ruling would suit me. I’m more of a fighter than a leader.” Mordred explained.
“I understand. That said, I have to know. Does that man know who you really are?” Elijah asked as he gestured at me.

“Sadly, yes. It seems the reason that father brought him into the fold was because he is a fortune teller. He happened to know who I was and that was proof enough for my father I guess.” Mordred said.
“This war has your father grasping at straws for help now. I feel bad for him.” Elijah said.
“I know. That said, this man is quite skilled. He also seems to have made friends with Gwaine.”
“For him to become friends with Gwaine that quickly must mean he has good character… or he’s gullible.” Elijah said.
“I don’t think he’s that gullible. Or else he would have set off my traps by now.” Mordred said.
“What traps?” Elijah asked as a large burst of flames shot up from the ground where I was jogging. Jumping away from the explosion of flames I fell to the ground in the fetal position.
“Good job avoiding it.” Mordred said from the training field.
“Fuck you!” I shouted back.
“Keep running or else I’ll start chasing you.” Mordred yelled back to me as she showed her sword. Elijah stood beside her in shock as she waved her sword around threateningly with a smile on her face.
