《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 037

Gwaine came back with another pitcher of wine. He sat down and quickly poured himself a glass which he took a big gulp of. Slamming the cup on the table he let out a large sigh of enjoyment. The knight to his left leaned against him as did the knight on the right who crushed him between themselves.
“Why?” Gwaine asked with a groan as he pulled his cup towards his face for another sip.
“Cause we felt like it.” the one on the left said with a laugh.
“Whatever, just let me eat in peace boys.” Gwaine asked politely.
“We also want a chance to speak with the new kid. You can’t just hog him to yourself so that he can keep an eye on your back.” the one on the right added.
“I have no such intentions of using him as a meat shield. I am just talking with the man who sat across from me.” Gwaine said.
“Who are you two?” I asked.
“Sir, Brunor.” the one on Gwaine’s right said.
“Sir Eric.” the one on Gwaine’s left said as well.
Brunor was a taller man with a rough cut beard over a chiseled chin. His eyes were a dark brown as was his hair and he looked like he was from the middle east. His clothes resembled a robe that was cut towards the knees while his pants went the rest of the way down and to top it off he wore a bloodied bear skin coat. Eric on the other hand was wider and more baby faced. He was also pale, had hazel eyes, and short red hair. He was dressed in a similar tunic and pants getup that a majority of the knights wore.
“Good to meet you both.” I said to them both.

“You as well.” Brunor replied with a knod.
“So what’s your story?” Eric asked.
“Um, what do you mean?” I replied in hopes that I could come up with something believable while I asked them this… I did not.
“I think he means, what did you do before Arthur made you a knight?” Brunor asked.
“I was a peacekeeper of sorts… I killed monsters that attacked humans and made sure humans were doing things to avoid giving monsters the reason to attack.” I replied.
“So you’re like Arthur and Merlin of sorts.” Eric said.
“How so?” I asked, hoping this would give me some insight about Merlin.
“Arthur is trying his best to make peace with neighbors or monsters as you call them. The reason he does this is so that he can fulfill a promise to create peace so that he and his wife can live the rest of their lives among both humans and neighbors. Both of them are related to the Elder God’s somehow and because of that they can’t be accepted by humans that fear the neighbors.” Brunor explained.
“The thing is Uther Pendragon also ruled under that promise to Merlin. Some believe that Merlin created Camelot to fulfill his goal of peace. He simply is using the King to be a figure head. That said, I respect his goal and I know he’s not a bad guy.” Eric added.
“It does sound like a good goal to have.” I said.
“That’s because it is. Many of those here are related to the neighbors somehow. The others are related to those with power around here and all of them respect Arthur.” Gwaine said.
“I get it. I have a lot of respect for Arthur.” I replied earnestly.

“Good. Want some more wine?” Gwaine said as he held out the pitcher.
“Sure.” I said as I held out my cup.
We ate for a good hour and many of the Knights passed out at the table. I however, couldn’t get drunk, and I drank more than most of the knights passed out at the table. I swear if this is some kind of curse put on me by Tim, I will do everything in my power to strangle the little time gremlin. Since I didn’t really have anything else to do before bed and I felt like relaxing I went back to my room and took off the pendant.
“Are you going to sleep, Sir Micheal?” Medea sked.
“No, not yet. Could you show me where the bath is.” I asked her.
“Of course, it’s just down the hall.” She said as she led me towards it.
