《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 030

The dinner was like one large family gathering. Every one of the knights acted like best friends or better. No one was sad or even remotely hostile towards the other. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind staying here forever. The environment that these knights gave off was nice and calming. Even Mordred was casually getting drunk on wine and beer with Elijah and the other knights. The older Mordred that was in the Pendant would never act like that from what I’ve seen. She was far too withheld when it came to that. Perhaps age just made her more tame and less willing to be out there? I wasn’t exactly going to ask her though so I’ll let it be.
Within an hour though the knights were either drunk or going to bed. Mordred was passed out drunk like a few others in the room so she was carried off to her room by Elijah. Arthur had already gone to bed and Merlin was nowhere to be found so I went to my room to sleep. When I arrived at my room and had closed the door to what I thought would be some privacy. To my surprise though, Young Medea was standing in my room with her head bowed.
“Is there anything you need?” she asked in a voice that seemed far too forced for comfort.
“Not really. Is everything okay?” I asked with a concerned tone.
“Perhaps I can help you get into some night clothes or warm your sheets?” she offered in the same forced voice.
“I’m fine, really.” I replied with the same concerned tone.
“Please give me something to do? If I don’t do my job right then head maid Shera will be mean to me.” she asked in a manner that almost seemed like pleading.

“How is she mean to you? Is that where you got those bruises? From Shera?” I asked. The girl nodded hesitantly as she somewhat tried to cover up the bruising on her arms.
“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure she is never mean to you again. For now can I look at those bruises?” I said with a worried smile. Despite her hesitance she held out her arms.
“Elysif, can you take a look at these?" I asked in a hushed tone to the pendant. A moment later I saw several string-like blood strands floating in the air. The sight of them started to scare Medea a bit but she didn't move. The blood strings slowly wrapped themselves around her arms. After a few seconds they unwrapped themselves and disappeared from wherever they came from.
Without any kind of warning a small flask with a clear liquid appeared from the pendant. I barely caught it before it hit the ground. On the flask was a note that read: "pour this on her arms. It's a diluted form of my healing salve. I don't have access to most of my supplies so this is all I can give you for now. By the way, thanks for the food."
Taking the plug out of the top of the flask I held it over her arms. "This is going to sting a little bit." I said before pouring the contents on her arms. She hissed in pain as the liquid sizzled on her arms. As it did the bruising quickly started disappearing until all of them were gone.
"Does it hurt still?" I asked once the sizzling stopped and the bruises had completely vanished.
"No, it doesn't. Thank you!" She said happily before giving a hug out of nowhere. Since I was squatting so that I could be at eye level with her the hug put me off balance and I ended up falling over. Thankfully she let go of me just as I started falling back so I ended up just hitting the back of my head instead of taking her down with me.

"Ow." I said as I rubbed the back of my head. As I Stood up I could see that Medea was now checking the back of my head for damage like some kind of helicopter parent when their child gets the slightest bit hurt.
"Are you okay?" She asked as she checked for injuries.
"I'm fine. It's late so why don't you go on to bed. If the head maid asks, just tell her that you helped me get ready for bed or something like that and you left once I fell asleep." I said.
"Okay, I'll see you in the morning." She said with a somewhat hesitant smile before going out the door.
"You are way too nice to her." I heard Elysif say before she appeared out of the pendant.
"Yes, but I think I would do the same for any child. Tomorrow I'll have to talk to that head maid as well." I said with a slight tinge of anger towards Shera.
"You probably would but you should remember that she is my mother. A horrible violent woman who only cares for herself." Elysif said as if she was having some kind of dramatic flashback.
"Yes, but what if I can show her how to be a good person?" I asked.
"You and I both know that will not happen. Nothing we do can affect the future other than to make what has already happened happen. Turning her into a good person will never work." Elysif said.
"You're probably right but I'm still gonna try out of spite for that damn time god." I replied before stripping off my shirt and starting to remove my pants.
"Fine, I'll go along with it for now but if you do anything that I don't like then I'm putting a stop to it." Elysif said before walking up to me and disappearing into the amulet. After that I simply shrugged and climbed into the bed.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
