《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 005

“Yet the King has slept with another woman. I am not the only adulterer in this castle, Merlin.” she said as she let go of him and took a step back.
“I agree. He however, did not use it to take advantage of you. Unlike yourself, he was truly apologetic about it. Though I believe that he would never have tried to do anything against you had you not done the same.” Merlin said with a shrewd smile.
“I-I will not take this from you! My son will be King and there is nothing you can do to stop it!” she stuttered before walking off in a tantrum.
“I despise that woman. What Uther saw in her, I’ll never know.” Merlin said as he shook his head and headed inside the castle.

Nearly a month passed by before Merlin returned to the witches. He looked to be in a hurry so Arthur went with him the moment that he arrived. Taking several hours the two arrived at Camelot just as bells were ringing.
“oh, no.” Merlin said before kicking the horse and going into a full gallop through the streets.
“What’s going on?” Arthur asked as he desperately tried to hang on.
“The drawing of the sword has already begun but those bells mean someone has been named King.” That's impossible though unless Uther had another child.” Merlin said. Running up to the castle gate he yelled for the doors to be opened. Hearing merlin, the men near the door began to push it open.
“What is going on?” One of the court officials yelled. As soon as he did Merlin and Arthur came through the door on horseback which caused many of the people inside to run away from the door.

“Who do you name King?” Merlin demanded as he dismounted the horse along with Arthur.
“The son of Uther Pendragon, Martin pendragon.” A court official said from beside a man dressed in purple robes and wearing a crown.
“That is not the son of Uther Pendragon. The true son is here!” Merlin stated as he points to Arthur.
“What!” The court official exclaimed.
“Want me to prove it? Arthur, take the sword!” Merlin said to Arthur. The blade was still stuck in the center of the room untouched.
The Court was curious as to whether or not Arthur could pull the sword so they did nothing to stop him. They also didn't want to be killed for pissing off Merlin so that helped. Martin also stood still as he was curious as to what would happen. Thus, the only person who dated to move was Arthur as he walked up and placed his hands on the sword. Gripping it as best he could he lifted the sword from the stone floor with ease. Electricity came off the blade as it shone a bright gold.
"It is true." One of the Court officials said before all of them took a knee and bowed to Arthur. Martin removed the crown from his head and walked over to Arthur with a smile.
"I suppose that this is yours. I never really wanted to be King anyways." Martin said as he placed the crown on Arthur's head. Like the rest Martin then dropped to one knee and bowed before Arthur.
Arthur looked back at Merlin who gestured at the throne in a way that told him to go on. Slowly waking forward he made his way to the throne and sat down. Everyone rose as he did and Merlin called for the festivities to begin as a new King had been named. People began to enter the halls to meet the King and give him their congratulations. Arthur wasn't really used to it nor did he have any idea what was going on so he was acting super nervous as he greeted people. Had he known this was going to happen he probably wouldn't have accepted.

As the people in the streets began feasting and enjoying themselves Merlin was finally able to stand away from the crowds so that he could catch a break. At least he thought he could. The ex-Queen came up to him in a furious rage. He knew he couldn't just brush her off so he might as well do what he needed to.
"How dare you!" She exclaimed.
"I simply did what the King asked of me. Plus, your son didn't want to be King in the first place." Merlin said.
"That's absolute insanity. My son wouldn't want anything more than to be King." She yelled.
"I suggest you leave before you ruin the festivities." Merlin said as he waved over a couple of guards.
"I am the Queen and I demand that you make my son the King!" She stated before being carried off by the two guards. One of the Court officials walked up to Merlin And handed him a drink.
"I'm sorry for doubting you, Merlin. What shall we do with Martin and his traitorous mother?" The Court official asked.
"Martin has done nothing wrong so I believe we can give him some land and goods as an apology for making him believe it was his birthright. As for that hag, I want her stripped and tied to a cart. Parade her through the streets and continue going until she can no longer walk before cutting off her hands and feet and leaving her to die." Merlin said with an evil smile. The Court official stood there in horror at what Merlin just described.
"At least, that's what I would say if I wanted to forsake the late King. Just have her live with her son on whatever land we give him." Merlin said with a soft chuckle. Taking a sip of his drink, the Court official set his drink down and nodded at Merlin before going after the guards.
"Well, that takes care of that problem. Too bad I won't be able to see it from here." Merlin said as he drank some of his wine.

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
