《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Witch Trials - Part 044

“I don’t think this is how a trial works.” I stated as we sat down.
“It isn’t. Our style is a little bit different from normal. Since we are merely peacekeepers for something that the governments of the world would rather not involve themselves in, we sit down in a closed off room with the thought to be perpetrator. One person defends them while the one who was affected by the perpetrators' misdeeds discusses what happened. Each person must speak in turn and although you have someone to defend you, you have every right to speak your side of the story. A judge, also known as me, will decide whether they need to be punished and what kind of punishment should be used.” Merlin explained.
“That makes some sense.” I replied.
“Alright then, let’s begin. Mordred, please state your side of the story.” Merlin said.
For the next hour Mordred explained everything as best she could as some of it was quite confusing. She even went into detail about Merlin finding her father with a knife in his back and how the only person who could have done it was the Masked Man. eventually getting to the part about Medea and how she tried summoning the masked man along with Elysif and Iscarat defending me after she found out I was the Masked Man. Eventually she had Compton release Iscarat and Elysif from the magic prison he had been carrying around.
After hearing her side of the story he had Elysif and Iscarat give their sides of the story. There wasn’t much of a difference in Iscarat’s story other than the fact that he had a hunch I was the Masked Man this whole time. When asked why he thought that he simply stated that he had met the Masked Man on many occasions and knew a fair bit about his powers. Elysif’s side of the story was also similar to iscarat’s and Mordred’s but it seemed like she was asking my side more than the others.

“Well, that was three testimonies with very few differences. Lou, let’s hear your side of the story now.” Merlin said.
“Those three testimonies were just like I remembered it. However, I was not awake when the Masked Man appeared so I didn’t see whether he was me or not. To be honest I am unsure about a lot of things due to a lack of knowledge on the Masked Man.” I replied
“I see, Compton, do you have anything to say on this matter?” Merlin asked.
“No sir, There is nothing to refute since all of their testimonies are accurate. However, I would like to point out that so far Lou Barret has done nothing wrong yet and is to be considered a great aid to the Agency. Since he is technically innocent as he is now I would suggest that any punishment be reduced to that of service to the Agency. He is just far too great of a resource.” Compton said confidently.
“Then you and I are on the same page. My official verdict is that Lou Barret is guilty of crimes against the Agency in the future. Since we cannot charge him with such crimes we are instead going to keep him in Warwick as an asset to the Agency. This is merely a matter of protection rather than a punishment.” Merlin stated.
“Now that you have finished that I have a few things to say.” Silva said from behind Merlin. I could see that Merlin was in absolute shock from that phrase but he said nothing nor did anything. He simply waited, for what exactly, I have no idea.
“Silva!” Compton and Mordred both said in surprise and unison as they stood up.
“Yes, yes, I faked my death. It’s good to see all of you. However, I’m here to request a trial of my own.” Silva said.

“Oh really, and who exactly are you putting on trial?” Merlin asked.
“You of course. For the murder of King Arthur Pendragon and countless others as well as the attempted murder of myself.” Silva said to Merlin with an innocent style smile that hid a lot of malice.
“Merlin, what is she talking about?” Mordred asked with a concerned look.
“Why don’t you tell her yourself, Merlin? About how you have been secretly killing people to keep her alive and the fact that you have been using her since the beginning. I could also go into detail about what you have been planning but where’s the fun in that?” Silva said with the same smile.
“Silence, you insolent child!” Merlin said as he snapped his fingers. Two small pools of ooze appeared on the floor and from each of them a fully armed Trojan looking soldier emerged. They charged at Silva only to be cut down in a flash of silver and turned to ashen dust. SIlva raised her sword to Merlin with an almost comical chuckle of pure pride.
“Is what she said true, merlin?” Mordred said as she too drew her sword with a face of absolute shock and heartbreak. The one person who she saw as family anymore couldn’t have betrayed her like that right?
“It is true.” he said shallowly and with another snap of his fingers hundreds of blades shot out of the ground.
