《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Witch Trials - Part 041

After I convinced Elysif that I was okay and we realized that we couldn’t get the mask off. We started taking care of the wounded. Ida and Collin were both unconscious with no major damage. The same could be said for Mordred but Compton was a little bruised up. It seems that in the middle of the fight Iscarat had knocked out John and Aaron so we didn’t have to worry about them.
Compton, despite being the most beat up, was the first to wake up. Since Elysif didn’t have her bag we weren’t able to properly clean his wounds but they were small enough that they could wait so all we did was bandage them up with some cloth. He, as he should have been, was concerned as to how Aaron and John were knocked out when they weren’t even fighting. For some reason though Elysif decided to lie and told him that the Masked Man knocked them out.
“What happened?” Mordred asked groggily as she sat up. Upon seeing me, she stood up and raised her sword towards me.
“Mordred, he isn’t the Masked Man.” Compton said in hopes of calming her down. I guess he wasn’t conscious for the face reveal.
“Shut up, Compton! I’m taking Lou Barret into custody and he will be put on trial.” Mordred yelled as she began coming towards me. Elysif walked in between me and her to block her path.
“You will not do any such thing.” Elysif said.
“Get out of my way, child! I will hurt you if I have to.” Mordred spat in anger.
“I doubt it. If you couldn’t beat my mother then I can most likely beat you myself.” Elysif said pridefully.
“You impudent little shit! Compton, take him!” Mordred yelled. She was even more pissed than I thought was possible. As she yelled this, Compton grabbed me from behind. I knew I could stab him with my knife from where he was but I had no desire to hurt him. Elysif turned to see what Mordred had ordered Compton to do only to be hit in the gut with the pommel of her sword. Elysif threw up from the impact before passing out.

“Elysif!” I yelled.
“I will ask you only once. Are you the masked man? And if so, then why did you kill my father? If you do not answer then I will kill her.” Mordred asked with a threatening and hateful glare that made me feel like she was willing to commit any atrocity on a whim.
“... I-” I started to say something before Iscarat walked over.
“He is the Masked Man. I saw it with my own two eyes.” Iscarat said nonchalantly.
“So you saw what was under the mask as well. I guess I owe you an apology then Iscarat. I had assumed you still hated me?” Mordred said.
“I do, that is why I am telling you the truth. What you just saw was the birth of the Masked Man. the path has already been beaten down and there is nothing that can change it.” Iscarat said.
“What are you saying?” Mordred asked curiously.
“You never saw him without the mask and it can never be removed by human hands so that must mean that Lou Barret is now the Masked Man but he wasn’t before. Everything that has happened has happened for a reason and nothing can change the past.” he continued.
“I don’t follow.” Mordred said.
“Neither do I” Compton added. I agreed because I wasn’t exactly sure what iscarat was trying to say either.
“The person before you has yet to kill your father and as such has committed no crime. There is nothing within the law that would allow you to judge him. Now, before you think that you can just kill him and everything will be fine then I implore you to try. “ Iscarat said with a grin.
“You fool! I will prove to you that I can and will end his life.” Mordred yelled as she stepped forward while pulling her blade back to strike me. Iscarat’s grin grew even bigger as Mordred walked towards me before she tripped on a small root. Her blade stuck into the ground in front of me as she tried using it to catch herself.

“What did you do?” She yelled at Iscarat.
“Nothing. The universe just will not allow you to kill him. You can do whatever you want to him but he’ll still end up in the past.” he said with a devilish smile.
“Damn it!” She yelled out to no one in particular.
“I believe that we should take them back to Warwick. You can figure everything out there.” Compton said.
“You’re right, Compton. Take one of the prisons and put Iscarat and Elysif in it. We’ll have the traitor ride with us back to Warwick.” Mordred said, feeling slightly defeated.
“Yes, Ma’am.” he said as Mordred grabbed me by the arm.
“I suggest you not try and escape.” she said to me.
“I still am not entirely sure what’s going on.” I replied.
“Shut up.” she said as she slapped me up the side of my head.

Luna doesn't remember much about herself. The faces of her family and friends, even her own name, she can't recall anymore. All this happened after she came to the world of Arkon. But wait, no matter how I look at it, isn't this too much like an RPG?! *Am influenced by many light novels, and some stuff I read on this site... I especially stole a bit of stuff from "So What if it's an RPG?!" since I read that the most recently. Translations can be found on scrya's site. Akatsuki no Yona also big influence =w= *Cover art is not mine, credit goes to... idk where credit goes to cuz I found it off google after searching Ashe from LoL fanart :P

Dreamland
Dolores is a lucky girl with a high-level avatar in a very popular game. She did not level it up; she got it through some fortunate circumstances. She is not interested in fighting and levelling; all she wants is to have some fun and follow her own fantasies. If only there would not be all those idiots who intend to kill her, capture her, or simply use her. And those flaws in the game! Wait, what? Those pesky game characters now appear in the real world? And they can do magic? How did this happen? Adding to her troubles, her crush does not even look at her. As Dolores tries only to survive and hide between 'normal' people, she encounters stranger and stranger things that force her hand and, in the end, she has the answers to a lot of questions. It is a slow-developing story. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope to share it with you, dear reader if you also enjoy it. On the other hand, putting it in an acceptable form requires much work and energy. I intend to bring it to its end and not let it unfinished. I hate it when I encounter unfinished stories, so I understand the feeling. This is not a classical isekai story. There is travel between the two worlds, and the game world seems to be so very real... well, this is one plot of the story. This is not an MMORP game story. Part of the action happens inside a game world, but it is treated as a real world. Updates on a weekly basis, at least Monday and Friday, with additional bonus chapters as time and energy allow. Cover art: White Flower as A Dark Fairy by Darkrealmsmaiden Yolanda gracefully allowed me to use her dark fairy as cover. There are many more beautiful works of art to be discovered at her site: https://www.deviantart.com/darkrealmsmaiden Additional Grammar Trigger Warning: As a non-native speaker, I do my best. Unfortunately, this is not enough for people with a low tolerance for warped sentences and... they may want to skip the story :( Well, you have been warned :) I appreciate it when a reader points out a sentence that needs rework. That may spare a follow-up reader some pain and helps me understand where my English grammar problems are. * We thought we made the best game in Earth's history We thought we made the best interfaces ever seen We thought we made it - lifelike But it far exceeded our expectations. Dolores, I hope you're happy now. I hope you're alive now...
