“What do you mean?” Elysif asked with uncertainty written all over her face.

“I was told about the whole thing. Now let’s get to Mama Louise’s.” I replied sternly.

“What’s going on? Are we not going to see Mama?” Rebeccah asked.

“Well we need to go see someone else first okay. It will only take a little bit.” I said to Rebeccah.

“Okay… will Mama be okay with this?”

“Mama will definitely be okay with it.” Elysif said.

“Alright then let's go.” I said as we started walking towards Whitechapel.

Upon arriving at Mama Louise’s brothel Rebeccah was asked to go with one of Mama Louise’s helpers who happened to be good with kids. Elysif and I however, were told that Mama Louise was waiting for us along with Iscarat and we were warned that she wasn’t in a very good mood. As we were warned Mama Louise was in fact fuming. She berated Elysif about her actions like a mother would scold a child. It was rather demeaning. I was also scolded in the same manner for not coming to her sooner.

“What were you thinking?” Mam Louise asked.

“I was hoping to make amends. I’m sure my mother and I could come to some agreement.”

“Are you delusional? Your actions ultimately led to your entire family being slaughtered at the hands of the Agency. Do you really think that simply apologizing would make it better?”

“It would have been over without any blood being spilled had they not resisted and killed several agents.”

“That may be true and I know you to be righteous in that but our mother will not see it that way. Hell, even the other Covens don’t see it that way. Only the few who were there knew that you were right.”

“But-”

“No, Scott has already left for the Agency headquarters and is currently receiving their aid. You are to stay here along with that child you decided to bring with you until we can assure your safety. Lou I want you to accompany her until my spies have located the witch.”

“With all due respect Mama Louise-” I interjected.

“Excuse me?” Mama Louise said, as she seemed like one false move could make her snap.

“I believe it would be wise to have Rebeccah lead us to her mother. Then we could stop her.”

“Obviously Scott has allowed you to take on some of his bad habits. We cannot stop her with the people who are here now. She is capable of wiping us all out the moment we walk into her territory. Wherever that may be. As such we will wait until Scott returns with backup from the Agency. Until then we must be on guard and search for her from a distance.”

“I agree.” Iscarat said.

“But we can’t just sit here and do nothing. I have to take responsibility for my mother.” Elysif rebuttled.

“And how will you do that? That hag you call your mother has committed atrocities you can’t even begin to imagine. I’ll be damned if I let her take this city just for the sake of her selfish desires. So I suggest you do as I say if you wish to begin taking responsibility as you put it.”

“Yes ma'am.” Elysif said sternly before walking out the door to Mama Louise’s office.

“Lou, please keep an eye on her. She doesn’t know how much she is worth to her mother. We cannot let her take Elysif or that child back or we risk losing.” Mama Louise said.

“Why is it important to keep her away from her mother?”

“Elysif doesn’t know it but the ritual that her mother is trying to do is actually an alternative version to the original. The original required one mage to activate. This one requires three blood magic users. We now have two of them.” Iscarat explained.

“So that’s why you want her to stay here. She is just too important to risk losing. We felt a bit of luck when you brought in her sister. We are now a step ahead of her.”

“I see. I’ll keep an eye on them.” I said before heading out.

“Oh and one more thing.” Mama Louise said

“Yes?”

“Be careful if you meet her mother. She may end up killing you if you get in her way.”

“Duly noted.”
