《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 038

I slowly stood up from being launched into the wall. I felt as if all my internal organs just got crushed which might actually be the case seeing as I was launched ten feet. Elysif got up and you could see the expression of shock on her face. It was obvious she had never seen Scott like he was now. Scott slowly began to walk towards me as his body began glowing a radiant green. This was the power of his runes.
Drawing my knife as I stood back up I readied myself for another attack but instead he vanished. Then I felt my neck snapping as I was launched once more. This time towards Elysif who was still in shock. Elysif gasped in horror as she watched my head nearly get cut off entirely. My healing effect kicked in very quickly as my head which was only head on by my spinal cord at that point reattached itself and returned it back to how it was before.
“Run!” I yelled to both Elysif and Erin who was also in shock. Elysif ran towards Erin whilst pulling a vial out of her bag. She threw the vial on the ground shattering it and causing smoke to fill the room. As this happened she grabbed Erin’s arm and pulled him towards one of the boarded up windows. She threw herself against it failing to break through. Instead it only shattered the glass. Erin realizing what she was doing morphed into his werewolf form tearing his clothes in the process and breaking it open.
As they escaped I could see Scott looking at me through the smoke. When I got back up though he seemed even more enraged and disappeared like he had before. This time though I made a guess and dove away from where he had hit me before. I was correct as I saw Scott appear right behind where I just was followed by a thunderous amount of force where my neck would have been. He disappeared again and suddenly I felt as if the entire earth fell on my stomach. Blood shot out of my mouth and from my lower body as Scott had slammed both his fists like a giant hammer into my stomach.

It was crushed completely. My internal organs weren’t so internal anymore. Scott stared at me, his teeth were gnashing together to the point I could see bits of his teeth being ground to dust. He could tell I was still alive as he grabbed my organs and wrapped them around my neck like a noose. I gagged as he slowly lifted me up by it. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts.
[You know if you die by asphyxiation then I can’t revive you. In the same way, if your head is destroyed I can’t revive you either.] Tim said.
“I know that!” I thought to myself as I desperately tried to get out of my organ noose. So this is how I die? Getting choked to death by my own organs.
Then I heard it. A gunshot. I looked over to see Erin completely nude holding my pistol with a smoking barrel. Did I drop it when Scott hit me? I don’t know. I guess that would have to have happened for him to have it. Wait, who did he shoot? I suddenly felt the noose around my neck loosen completely.
Scott had let go of it and began walking towards Erin. I desperately tried to get up but my body hasn't healed yet. I couldn’t move. All I could do was watch as Scott slowly moved towards Erin. He still had the gun pointing at him. Scared out of his mind of the monster who was Scott.
Then Scott did something I wasn’t expecting at all. He pat Erin on the head like a loving parent would when their kid did something good. Erin dropped the gun and tears ran down his face out of both fear and relief. Scott had returned to being sane again for a moment at least.

“I’m so sorry. I just hope you can move on now.” Scott said before he fell over.
Elysif ran back in to see Scott lying dead on the floor with Erin right in front of him. She then looked at me and looked disgusted. I used the only muscle I could at the moment and waved to her to show I was okay. She in return walked over and unwound my organs from around my neck before stuffing them back into my stomach. I don’t know if it helped but the healing process felt a little faster.
She then walked over to Scott and began listening for any signs of breathing. She shook her head after a moment and looked at Erin who was still sitting there. “Go home. Your family wants you back and I feel like you owe it to them.” Elysif said to him.
“You aren’t mad at me? You don’t want to take revenge?” he asked with bloodshot eyes.
“Oh, I want to kill you right now but Scott wanted this. I’ll respect his wishes. Also you may want to put some clothes on before you leave.” she said. He looked at himself and smirked.
“Ya, probably.” he replied as he got up. Elysif maneuvered the coat off of Scott and gave it to him. He took it and with a thank you left.
I could tell that this was a very sad moment for Elysif as she stared at Scott. If I could move I would try and comfort her. That was impossible though as I still couldn’t move anything other than my hands. She looked like a child who had just watched their puppy get run over. It was depressing to even look at her. Then she punched him as hard as she could in the gut. I stared in shock and horror. What kind of sick relationship did these two have.
“He’s gone, you can stop faking death.” she said.
“AAGH! You didn’t have to hit me so hard.” Scott said as he laid there as if he couldn’t move. Then he cried out again in pain.
“What the hell! You aren’t dead?” I yelled a little annoyed. My voice sounded raspy due to being choked a minute ago.
“No the runes hardened my skin enough to stop the bullet from killing me but it did make me come to my senses. Right now though my entire body is in pain due to overworking all of my muscles and I have no power left. Also my arm is even more broken because I used it even though it was already damaged.” he said.

The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.

The Animo Saga
Before history was well-recorded in the world of Ulakam, primordial animal spirits adopted humans, provided protection and developed deep spiritual connections with them. Millennia later, humans now host animal spirits and are split into tribes named for the species they host. Ulakam is slowly being consumed by a decades-long war pitting the main tribes against the smaller tribes and a group of bandits calling themselves "the resistance". Callida Animo was born into this world. Coming from a mixed family of generational soldiers, Callida joined the family business at a young age. In her words, she was practically bred, born, and raised to be a soldier. And she's good at what she does... which inevitably attracts attention that makes her unambitious self extremely uncomfortable. Love, loss, influence and growth. This is her story. Written episodically, this story focuses on relationships and character growth through a series of mini-arcs that connect to make a greater whole. (Honestly, the story would lend itself well to a TV series.) "Episodes" range from 3-7 chapters (at least so far), and average about 4 or 5 chapters. Author's note: I'm always thrilled to receive comments, follows, ratings/reviews, messages.... All forms of feedback are welcome and encouraged. However, I have no interest in begging readers for more engagement to get better visibility. I tried that with my last story and found the game soul-sucking. So! This constitutes my only self-promotion request. If you are reading this story, let me know what you think! I love engaging with my readers. We'll see if growing the readership organically is even possible. Thank you! 😘 Release schedule: Weekly on Wednesday afternoons
