《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 025

I watched as Elysif took a bowl out of her satchel and placed the garment inside of it. After doing so she set in on fire and threw some kind of salt like substance on it. The fire burned a bright green with several small explosions of smoke. After the fire completely burned the garment she scooped up some of the ashes and placed them in the bottom of a small compass that was covered in runes like my knife was.
“So that compass will point us in his direction?” I asked.
“Pretty much but it will not be able to tell us whether he is underground or not unless we get directly above him. Then it will start spinning like crazy. The same could be said if he was directly above us.”
“Well it’s better than what we had before. Wait, why didn’t we use this before when you were looking for me?”
“I didn’t have it then. We actually had Iscarat make us this while we were looking for you and he had never created with a search item before. By the time he finished it you had returned and we didn’t need it.”
“We could have used it to find the masked man or perhaps Jack the Ripper!”
“No, we couldn’t. We didn’t have any items of theirs nor did we have any of their blood. Maybe if we had them we could have but we didn’t.”
“Sorry.”
“Anyways, it says we need to go southwest. Let’s just hope he isn’t underground or worse, killing Scott.”
“Have we ever been that lucky?”
“Not even once.”
We both left the college and headed towards Erin. there was only one problem. You know when you play an open world video game and there's a marker on your screen that tells you where to go without a care for whatever may be between you and your destination? Well this was the same way. We constantly had to weave our way around building which caused the compass to spin in odd ways. We even got to the edge of a river which didn’t have a bridge anywhere near where we were. The item was useful but man was it annoying.

Three years after Compton left London, Silva walked into Monty’s and sat down beside Scott. She leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek before asking. “So how was your search today?”
“It was pretty good. There was a small territory dispute on the west side of London involving a gang of chimera’s. How was your day with Elysif?” Scott answered.
“Everything was good with us. Elysif is currently getting private lessons on witchcraft from Dolfly currently so she will not be joining us for dinner.”
“I forgot she had those today. She’s come a long way since we took her in a year ago.”
“She has. Now, what did you order for me?”
“Monty had a special on lamb chops so I got us both some.”
“Well thank you. Oh, before I forget. I heard a rumor about some werewolves causing trouble near Canary Wharf.”
“How so?” Scott asked as Monty came by with two pints of beer and two plates of pork chops with a side of mixed roasted vegetables.
“Thanks Monty. It seems that a few of the werewolves are running a slave trade, or at least that’s what the rumors say.”
“So we need to check it out?”
“That is our job. I figured Elysif could stay home tomorrow and we could check it out.”
“If I find out later that this is just an excuse for us to have a long date then-”
“Then what?”
“Then I’ll have no choice but to have Elysif stay at the college while we enjoy the flat to ourselves for the night.” he said in a sexual tone.
“It would be a long night then but I would prefer an inn for something like that.” she replied in the same tone but a little embarrassed nonetheless.
