《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 015

“So what’s the deal with that kid? Did he do something to impress you?” Silva’s Father asked.
“Not at all, he just seemed like a good fit. He also happened to see me kill a few creatures that refused to stop disturbing the peace.”
“Alright then.”
“Now what about the child you brought? What’s so special about him?”
“He lived in a farming village not too far from Warwick and his family was attacked by some rogue Fey. Compton was able to kill a few of them with an iron chain but not before his family was killed. When the Agency arrived they found him digging graves for his family and covered in blood. It seems that someone in his family died while trying to protect him.”
“That’s horrible. A twelve year old shouldn’t have to go through something like that.”
“We decided to take him into the agency with me as his guardian but the trauma has made him a little cold to others. Mordred thought it would be best if he was sent to train with you as an apprentice. She said that your carefree attitude might affect him for the better.”
“I see, so I guess i can’t refuse then?”
“No, you cannot. This was an order from Mordred herself. As for the other apprentice, I will let it slide but I expect a full report and he has to be properly inducted into the Agency.”
“I understand.”
“Now as for that gambling issue?”
“Oh no.”
“Due to the increase of dependents your funding will increase as well. However, I will now require a written out budget each month with the exact numbers. If the spending doesn’t match up with your budget then I will ask both of your new apprentices about your spending habits.”

“Yes sir.” she said in a downtrodden voice.
Silva looked over at the children at the table where Scott was teaching Compton how to thumb wrestle. Scott had a huge smile on his face and Compton… well he looked like he wanted to die but now he seemed more comfortable around them. Silva’s father turned to look at them too before looking back at Silva.
“To think you are doing so well on your own that you even went out of your way to recruit an apprentice. I am very proud. However, I am still intrigued as to why.”
“Because I felt like it. Hasn’t that been my main motivation through life?”
“You can say that but I know you're planning something.”
“What if I told you that the history doesn’t seem to line up at the Agency?”
“I don’t know what you mean?”
“I met someone who pointed out a major flaw with the Agency's beliefs and history.”
“Do you plan on exposing it? Because if it threatens the Agency by exposing it, I will have to stop you.”
“Not at all, I only wish to test a theory. The Agency will only get stronger if I am correct.”
“And what if you aren’t.”
“Then nothing happens.”
“I see, then carry on.” Her father said before Monty brought their food over.
The four of them ate like some kind of dysfunctional family. Scott was constantly trying to engage Compton and Silva was telling her father about all the stuff that had occurred since their last meeting. It was mainly day to day stuff that wasn’t necessary in a report but he listened to her all the same. Compton stayed silent most of the time, only speaking to answer questions with as few words as possible but was still taking part in the almost one sided conversation with Scott.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.
