《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 014

The next day the two sat outside the train station waiting for Silva’s new apprentice and her father. She was dressed in a formal blue dress unlike her normal attire and looked amazing despite the fact that she was nervous to the point that Scott looked worried for her. He himself though was dressed like he always had.
“Is your father really that scary?”
“No, but I don’t really want to be chewed out.”
“I see…”
“You see what?”
“Oh, just the consequences of your actions.”
“You little twat!” she exclaimed before slapping him in the back of the head.
“I may have deserved that but you also deserve being called out.”
“Do you want to stay as my apprentice or not, you ungrateful child?”
“Of course I do but you aren’t exactly the greatest role model.”
She sighed before looking back at him with the same innocent smile she had when they first met. “You may be right, but I still do my job better than most. Just please try and impress my father so he agrees.”
“Of course Silva.”
The train from Warwick arrived and with the flow of people rushing out the open door was a man and a small boy about Scott’s age. The man dressed in an average suit looked around for a moment before spotting Silva and guiding the young boy over.
“Silva! How are you?” the man said before giving her a hug.
“Father, I am doing well. And yourself?”
“Good as always, paperwork is as constant as the flow of the Nile.” he said.
“Father, this is Scott. I forgot to tell you and by the time I remembered it it was too late.”
“Don’t tell me that this child is going to marry you?”

“What? No! I inducted him into the Agency unofficially as my apprentice months ago and forgot to tell you in my reports.”
“... Well that would explain the sudden change in your writing style and the increase in your spending.” he said while pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head.
“Actually sir, she has been losing a lot of the money through gambling loss. I have been trying to stop her but she is persistent.” Scott interrupted.
“Scott? Why would you say that?” Silva said with an even more nervous face.
“So your gambling? I’m guessing it’s illegal betting then?” he said, cocking his eyebrow.
“Father, I can explain.”
“I don’t know why Mordred wanted you specifically stationed in London but I respect her judgement. As a father though I am disappointed. However, we will discuss that later. I am here to accompany your new apprentice. Meet Compton, he has already shown promise but is rather quiet.”
“Nice to meet you.” Compton said in a cold and hushed tone. Scott stuck out his hand to shake his but Compton ignored his attempt.
“Well, I hope we work well together Compton.”
“...”
“Now that we have gotten the formalities out of the way we should go somewhere where we can talk.” Silva’s father said.
“Of course, there is a good restaurant not too far from here.” Silva replied before leading the way to the restaurant. “You are so going to get an earful later.” she whispered to Scott as they walked. He just chuckled but didn’t exactly look forward to it.
The two adults sat at the bar while Scott and Compton sat near the window at a small table. Monty walked by and handed them each a platter of food. Compton, unlike before, seemed a little happier. He was still rather cold but at least he wasn’t completely hopeless.

The Magic of Logistics
The harbour Luc has been dropped into is not a normal one. It looks like a medieval town, it's full of strange people and some of them are waving magic around. Luc will need to rely on new friends and his own determination to learn how to harness the magic of the Aether. He has to find his way back home. --- Hi everyone, This is my first story in English. Please tell me if I've used a word incorrectly. It's a slow-paced, slice of life isekai focused on Luc's goal of going home, his learning of the magic and gathering the resources he needs to grow. The chapters after the first one will be about 2-3k words long. I'll try to post at least once a week. Hope you enjoy! Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
