《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 001

A silvery blade sliced through the air, staining everything in crimson. The blade however didn’t have a single drop of blood on it. Any blood that had touched it had sizzled off. A small boy watched in fear as the one wielding the blade, a young woman, was surrounded by ashen dust. The dust that had just been flesh and that flesh had belonged to monsters.

He held his breath in hopes that the woman would pass him by. He had wandered too close and his face had been covered in blood. He didn’t care though. He had seen blood plenty of times before. This woman though, was scarier than anything else he had seen on the streets. He could hear her soft footsteps passing by. The echo from around the corner made his heart race.

“Do I run? do I hide? What do I do?” he thought to himself. The sound of her shoes on the cobblestone got closer and he could hear the sound of her rapier sliding into it’s sheath. Even if she was putting away her weapon he didn’t want to be discovered. He just wanted to live. Then he didn’t hear anything. As if the whole world had been silenced.

He started to peak out from behind the wall and standing right in front of him was the young woman. She had her hands held behind her back and an innocent smile on her face. He fell back on his ass out of surprise and stared in fear. Although the absolute beauty of this girl made the small boy lose all sight of his fears. Her hair was a bright brown and her eyes were as blue as the ocean. To add she had a certain air about her that made her seem pure and innocent.

She crouched down in front of him and started to wipe the blood from his face. He didn’t know what to do as he had just witnessed her kill a bunch of monsters without a care in the world. She was a killer but she looked like a saint. However he had met plenty of people that others called saints but he could easily call wicked.

“I’m sorry you had to see that. Are you okay?” the young woman said.

“I’m fine.”

“Would you like something to eat? I’ll get you something if you pretend that this never happened”

“I would love some food.” he replied ecstatically. Anything she was willing to give him was surely better than what he was eating on the streets.

“Alright, and what’s your name?”

“Scott, and yours?”

“Silva Langston, do you have a last name?”

“No.”

“Well Scott, It’s nice to meet you.” she said, helping him to his feet.

Scott Langston sat up from his bed with several grunts and groans. His broken bones weren’t healing as fast as he would have hoped. The cold air sent a chill up his spine as he removed his blanket.

“Lou! Start the stove.” he yelled out.

“I already started it. Quit complaining and be patient.” he heard Lou yell back. Looking out the window he could see the frost building up on the window and a thick fog in the street below.

“Why did it have to be today Silva?” he said to himself as he got up and started getting dressed as best he could with his injuries. Walking out of his bedroom he saw Lou sitting on the couch reading a book.

“I see you are looking better.” Lou said as he walked in.

“I’m fine. Now, I am going to be out for a bit today so you're on your own.”

“Oh really? Where are you going.”

“I believe that I don’t have to tell you everything. Oh, and How did it go with seeing Mordred off last night?”

“She got to the train just fine. Although she didn't seem like she wanted to leave yet.”

“She probably didn’t, especially with how the Agency is right now.”

“Is it really that bad?”

“Let’s just say that there’s a reason why I work as a field agent rather than working at headquarters.”

“I thought it was because you hated paperwork?”

“It is, and that is the biggest reason. However I am pretty sure Ten is up to his neck in files and decisions that need to be assessed for the South American branch.”

“I feel bad for Compton. He gets a job thrown at him without any warning and half of the people there expect him to fail.”

“Ya but it’s what he wanted to do since he was a kid.”
