《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings Extras

An extra scene with no relevance to the plot so it was removed from the rest of the novel. It is based somewhere before Part Sixty-Two.
I would like to start off with saying that no matter what time period you’re in a bath feels amazing after a long day of work. I had an impromptu meeting with Mama Louise, had to deliver some things to a few monster friendly pubs, and because Scott didn’t want to do anything I helped Elysif with her potion making. However due to 1888 not having the best plumbing I decided to go to Iscarat’s and enjoy his hot spring that he somehow had within his dimensional home.
When I asked how he got it he told me he snuck into Japan and found a hot spring inn. Then with a little spacial magic he trapped the whole thing within his alternate dimension. The hot water can still flow in and out due to the space it was originally in being connected to it through space. I don’t get how that works but he’s the dimensional magic expert.
I still think it’s a little weird that he was able to sneak into a country and steal an entire hotspring and a building. Supposedly he went to Japan in the first place because it was one of the few places the Agency couldn’t reach at the time. He enjoyed the hot springs there so much he thought he would take it with him as a souvenir.
“This is the life.” I said to myself. The area around me was surrounded by bamboo and in front of me was a building with rice paper walls and built in the classic Japanese style. I would have never thought that I could enjoy something like this when I was in the future. It would just be far too expensive.

If I accidentally took a nap though I would probably end up at the apartment days later because of the time displacement in here. However that didn’t seem like a bad idea. I hadn’t gotten a good day off in a while and spending it here would be rejuvenating. Then I heard the sound of the door to the rest of Iscarat’s home open up.
“I guess Iscarat wants to tell me to get out.” I said to myself as I laid back hoping to get just a few more seconds of peace before I was kicked out. However those few seconds of peace were interrupted by the shriek of a woman followed by the thump of someone hitting the ground. I shot up and looked over to see a woman lying on the ground. The woman had slipped I guess and was laying there with a towel barely wrapped around her.
I had an idea of who it could be and both for different reasons. Mama Louise was my first thought, but I doubt she would shriek at the sight of a man in the bath. My second thought would be Elysif and if it was her I might be as good as dead.
“Um… Are you okay?” I asked, unsure of what the proper question to ask was. She didn’t answer so I grabbed the towel I had laying beside the hot spring for myself and got out of the bath. I was planning on getting back in the water no matter what but I still wanted to make sure she was okay. At the very least I wanted to know who it was.
I wrapped myself in the towel and walked over to her. It was Elysif and she was out cold. I wonder what a gentleman would do in this situation? Although I wasn’t a gentleman. I started tapping her on her back with my wet hand saying “Elysif, are you okay?”

She groggily awoke and looked to her side. “This isn’t my apartment?” she said to herself.
“Of course it’s not. Now are you okay?”
She stood up and looked me up and down. “What are you doing here in nothing but a towel?”
“I was taking a bath when you walked in and shrieked. Then you fell over. I’m guessing you got a concussion or something when you fell.”
“Well, I was probably surprised to see someone else in here when I had nothing but this towel on.”
“Maybe, but I don’t plan on leaving. This is far too relaxing so you can either join me or not.”
“I’ll join you then.” she said, walking over to the bath and slipping off her towel as she got into the bath. The steam made it hard to see anything except the outline of her curves, but it didn’t matter. I did the same and we spent a little while soaking in the hot spring without a care in the world. We had some idle chatter but nothing of importance.
We were happily relaxing when we both heard the sound of the door opening and closing. Looking over we saw the most horrifying thing we had ever seen. Iscarat running gracefully towards the hot spring in the nude. He was too far away for the steam to cover anything so we got the full view. To describe it would be a sin against humanity.
“Ahhh!” Elysif shrieked and covered her eyes.
Cover yourself you perverted old man!” I yelled and threw over my towel. He ran past it and climbed into the hot spring with a chuckle.
“Like what you see?” he asked with a perverted chuckle.
““We’re leaving.”” Elysif and I said before getting out of the hot spring.
“Pesky brats, I let you use my hot spring and this is how I am repaid?”
“Neither of us wanted to see that. See you Iscarat.” I said on my way out.
We both decided that it would be best if we didn’t discuss what had happened ever. However neither of us were against bathing together again. After we left we found out that it was four in the morning so neither of us decided to go to bed. We just wandered around Whitechapel until the sun rose.

Catalyst: Avowed
The year is 605, and in your home— the country of Corcaea— the souls of mankind belong to demons. A phenomenon known as the "Catalyst" is what's to blame. This diabolical phenomenon lurks within every man, woman, and child. It can turn any human into a demon, if they fall prey to one, all-consuming element. It can be anything. Fear. Grief. Generosity. Even love. In a land where Gods are real and Corcaea's theocracy is the last hope for mankind, you follow in the footsteps of Father Richard Anscham: a deeply disturbed young priest, the leader of the Church of Mercy, and the foremost researcher of the Catalyst. Despite completing a holy mission from the Goddess of Mercy, obtaining a holy Relic, and escaping from demon-infested ruins, Father Anscham is in greater peril than ever before. Ravaged in mind, body, and soul, the solace he begs to receive from the Church of Flesh is impeded by a cruel lesson: the ramifications of a life spent sacrificing everything one has for others. See through the harrowing eyes of a man at his wit's end; through a dark fantasy tale of horror, hope, and desperation. Search for the cure. Conquer your personal demons. Welcome to Catalyst! As this is an archive of Catalyst Quest (an interactive, collaborative story), the prompts that were included with the original run of Avowed have been stripped, and the story is presented like a traditional novel for your reading convenience. If you would like to read Catalyst in its original format or participate in current events, you can find us here, on Sufficient Velocity. This book is complete! The story will continue with Catalyst: Calunoth, just as soon as I am done revising its content for here on Royal Road.
