《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings - Part Ninety-Five

“So what do you have to say? I know you can speak through the mask since you spoke after your puppet was beheaded.” Iscarat said to the mask. We had no idea what he was talking about but we all looked at the mask in anticipation.
“... I guess you are much smarter than I first thought. However had the original masked man not appeared all but the time lord would be dead and I would make you take me back no matter what.” the mask said in a detestable voice that reminded me of a 1960’s sports radio voice over that my grandparents showed me.
“So are you going to come after us or are you going to send more puppets?” I asked.
“I am not sure yet, but I can assure you that your lives will not be easy from here on out.”
“As if it was easy before.” Scott replied.
“Well, if you know of hell then you are about to meet the devil. You should expect something soon.” the mask said before a giant crack split down it’s center. The crack spread out and the mask crumpled into several small pieces.
We all stood silent except Scott who was sitting. No one had any idea what our next step was. We were just waiting again. I hated it and it seemed like so did everyone else. We were useless and we had to rely on someone considered an enemy of the Agency to clean up our mess.
“We should probably just go home for now.” Elysif finally said to break the silence.
“Agreed, now will one of you help me up? I may be hurting but both my legs are fine, somehow.”
“Sure.” I said helping him to his feet. He held his left arm at a ninety degree angle with his right hand and we started walking home.

“Wait, what about the body? We can’t just leave it there” Iscarat asked. He had a good point.
“Chuck it in the canal. Nature will do it’s thing.” Scott replied.
“Seems a little disrespectful.” Elysif said.
“Says the girl who dissects people all the time.”
“It is a medical examination and it is for science.”
“And isn’t the circle of life part of Science?”
“I can’t really argue that.”
“Good, now chuck it in the canal and let’s go home. I’m tired and I still need my broken bones looked at.”
“Alrighty then.” Iscarat said as he picked up the head and chucked it into the canal. Then we watched as he desperately tried to pick up the body and hoist it over the bridge. He couldn’t. Thus I had to do it myself and I have to say that it is much harder to pick up a body when it is dead. It’s if you were to pick someone up and instead of them helping you by taking some of the weight they just go full dead fish and give you all the weight.
We went home and after Scott got properly bandaged up we all slept. Turns out that Scott had several broken bones in his left arm and ribcage. His right hand also had a fracture but not anywhere he commonly used. He just couldn’t punch anything for a while.
Since Scott was out of commission for a while the task of reporting this all to the Agency was left to me. I was never good with this sort of thing, especially since I had to tell them how we may have started a war with someone who has access to Elder One magic. Scott had also warned me to be careful mentioning that the real masked man was there.

“Okay, you got this.” I said to myself as I walked into the Agencies main room. Mordred was talking to a few agents who I had never seen before. She finished her conversation with them before turning to me.
“So, I heard through Iscarat that there was an issue with the one known as Jack the Ripper?”
“To say the least.”
“What happened? If Scott’s not here I assume that he was injured or perhaps he just didn’t want to come here himself.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he came up with an excuse just to not ride on the train again but he was in fact heavily injured.”
“How could he have been injured as powerful as he is?”
“An Elder Ones power.”

Lost souls, will be rewritten soon. (Old version)
In a world where mages stand above the peasants, the nobles, and the law, it is not surprising that everyone wants to learn magic. Five siblings from a village in the middle of nowhere felt the same. Unfortunately, a dragon brought ruin to their home, eventually cornering the five blood brothers. Luz, the eldest brother, ignored the warnings of his ancestors for the sake of their survival. Using an ancient teleportation spell, he and his siblings were sucked into a portal leading to God-knows-where. In a foreign place far from home, Luz carries the burden of disobeying his ancestors and losing his younger brothers. He sets off to reunite his siblings and slay the dragon that destroyed their village while only being equipped with one useless space spell that drains all his mana after one usage. Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
