《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings - Part Eighty-One

Elysif sat against the side of an old brick building on Berner Street. She seemed like she was depressed but that was not the case. She was focusing on the area around her. With Iscarat’s help she had once again created several familiars that were scouting the area. Due to all of the information coming into her head at once it was beginning to give her a headache but she kept on.
“I found him. A woman and a man just disappeared into thin air around the corner.” She said. Persona ran out while Scott attempted to help Elysif up.”Go on Scott, my head hurts too much to run over their at the moment.” She said as she placed her palm against her forehead.
“Okay.” he said running after Persona. Scott came around the corner just in time to see Persona disappear into a wall of nothing. Then everything behind it started to appear as if it were there the whole time. The woman was on the ground lying in a pool of her own blood and the changeling was being held in a choke hold by Persona.
“Scott, check her.” Persona yelled. He did as he asked knowing that he was right in asking that.
“It’s too late, she’s lost too much blood.” He replied after attempting to stop the bleeding and checking her pulse.
“I see.”
“At least we caught the changeling.”
“Ya, now let’s get him in cuffs before he tries anything.” Scott said, gesturing at the changeling who was struggling to breathe.
“Of course, - Aggh!” Persona cried as he grabbed his forehead with his free hand.
“What’s wrong?”
“So that’s why he said I lost it… I become Lou Barret again.”
“What are you talking about?” Scott said, grabbing the changeling and putting one side of the cuffs onto his left hand. When he went to put the other on his right hand though, Persona let go of him and fell over. The changeling attempted to strike Scott with his free hand in order to get him to let go of his left. Scott dodged and struck him with an uppercut to the chin.

The strike sent him staggering back gripping his mouth but was pulled back in by Scott who had refused to let go of the cuffs. His grip was so strong that blood was dripping from his palm. Scott reeled him back in and put him in the same choke hold that Persona had done before.
He looked over at Persona who had fallen to the ground clutching his head and was now slowly standing up. “Sorry you had to deal with that emotionless version of myself.” He said.

Moments earlier
“So Tim?”
“Yes?”
“Could you maybe let me go? I think I have been locked in here long enough.”
“I guess you did stay a few days. Fine, you may go.” Tim said, rubbing the back of their own head.
“Oh, before I forget. Why did you even want to do any of that philosophical bullshit where I have some kind of revelation? All I feel now is depression and pain.”
“I read it in a book where the hero has to fight himself under the guise of the one they fear the most as a way to promote character growth.”
“I could see how that might work in a book but I’m way too dense for that and plus if anyone is the protagonist it’s Scott or Mordred.”
“If you say so. Now get out of here.” Tim said with a snap of their fingers. The floor fell out from below me and I was falling. Being back in my own body felt nice but I felt heavy like my physical body had just fallen to the ground.
I was clutching my head like I was in pain but didn’t feel anything. Then I started to feel it. All the stuff that happened while I was away came to me like a flurry of lost memories. I couldn’t believe that my logical self had managed to travel through time. At the same time though I feel like he was judging me even though we were the same person. I guess I always have been one to loathe myself so it wasn’t much different.

Pokemon Animus
Our story begins 20 odd years after the events of the animes, manga, and games. Now don't worry, we'll explore all the regions. However, not everything translates so cleanly into a more realistic setting, while other things just get better. No convenient inventory systems. That Pidgy ain't flying anyone anywhere, and your Bagon can't call meteors from the sky. The realities of the food chain trumps any children's media restrictions. Nearly all the mythics and legendries, can't feasibly be one of a kind. Shinys come in all varieties. Research has advanced in some areas, for good or ill. All the evil organizations that were yesterdays news have splintered apart, remnants lurk in shadow. Your favorite characters have all grown older, some have had children, others may have even died. Towns prosper or fall, new gyms start up while others might close down. New Champions have been crowned, new Leagues have formed! The Next Generation is starting their journey. Now, Dimensional portal shenanigans are nothing new to the pokemon world, But... Kurt, is. Sure, some folks might raise a brow at a 30ish year old man that should probably be in an action movie rather than the Hoenn Rookie League, but Kurt's ready for adventure. He might also wish he played more than the first two games... or remembered anything about himself.

Reality Grants One Chance
Some people are lucky, some aren't, some - have terrible luck. Our "hero" is of the latter kind. During young age he got into an accident, which allowed him to learn the fact that he belongs to a rare group of people.. People diagnosed with lung cancer, which he, however survived. Can't say he's lucky, as his life went downhill from that point... Our story happens years later, when his fate decides to make a loop and throw him in the same kind of accident. He gets hit by a truck. Surviving the crash, suffering just a few scratches, he is ultimately "lucky" to find himself out of the hospital in no time.. however every bit of good luck always brings him terrible luck afterwards. This time pushing him maybe a bit too far.. How far? Making him vanish without a trace and find himself in the middle of an unknown forrest. Doesn't sound bad? He can consider himself lucky? Just wait and see...It can always get worse.. always.. .... Congratulations, you've made it through the intro and into the author note! If you by any chance missed the tags and didn't read the warning, please do that now. I really recommend you to. Before you jump to reading, and unintentionally scar yourself, do mind that the story is about a dark, unforgiving world, a world in which you have more opportunities to die a horrible death, than take a piss. Hero doesn't have great luck, he has dumb persistance, he doesn't go through any trial with a breeze, he pays the price of blood, flesh and tears to live..and will be paying for every mistake.. No one outright explains anything to him, just as us for the most part - he is not sure what the hell is going on.. Some real survival tactics are used as a base of the descriptions, they are as important to the world and character as any other element.. Mind that the story starts really slow, but as the stone starts rolling downhill - the pace gets faster.. Every tag for this novel has a reason to be there, so if you don't see the particular element there, don't panic.. it's either well camoufalged, subtle or simply not encountered as of yet. Big thanks to Hobbo, Enyhrye and Hveth! ...not only pointing that the description could be better, but providing invaluable input.. and being patient enough to give fleshed out advice.

But one thing's for certain– she's gonna be doing a lot until she gets anywhere… do what she normally doesn't, become somebody she normally couldn't, setting off on an important journey with her newfound self worth. A journey for no absolute constructive reason. She might not be aware of it immediately… but that is her Fantasy. ------------------------- Just a few more things to note before you get started. Extra tag: Anime Yes, this is an anime-styled fiction, and it isn't meant to represent real life scenarios in grave detail. If you're familiar with anime and manga, the following mannerisms and tropes wouldn't feel too foreign. But if you feel that that isn't your cup of tea or you can't appreciate it, you can drop the read anytime you'd like.

The Orb Weaver Chronicles
"The Orb Weaver Chronicles contains several major and unique events that may or may not unknowingly intertwines with one another. The author of these chronicles is unknown, although some have hinted at the symbolism behind its name..." - Year unknown, location unknown 9 February 2022 Update: Welcome to the companion short story compilation of my novel trilogy The Shadow Paradigm. This compilation features prequels, sidequels and sequels to the novel's major plotline, as well as featuring a wide range of characters, new and recurring. Prior knowledge of the novel is not necessary as the Orb Weaver Chronicles' short stories are standalone. Once called The Arkesyyan Chronicles, I've deleted quite a few of its old stories. Due to the new avenue and revision, oriented toward more mystery and film-noir ambience, that I took my stories into, I've removed all aliens and overly sci-fi aspects of the whole TSP lineup, so I've updated the Orb Weaver Chronicles accordingly. I hope you enjoy them, and in time, a revised version will also be updated.
