《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings - Part Seventy-Five

Now, I wouldn’t say everything went back to normal. Due to my muscle atrophy I was barely any use to anyone at first. My muscles weren’t all that bad so with a little exercise my movement became easier. But for a good day I was back and forth between my bed and the couch. During that time we brainstormed ideas on how to catch these two but came up with nothing.
Tim pretty much kept every moment of my rest to himself. Constantly bothering me and asking me crazy philosophical questions. On top of that the constant nagging about being too broken minded. He would always say that if it wasn’t for him then I would be having panic attacks every few minutes. I ignored it but it got me thinking. Why haven’t I broken down yet? After all that trauma you would think I was insane but I feel mostly fine.
Anyways time moved on peacefully for a while and as we came up with ideas I realized that I was truly home. There was nowhere else on earth that I could give that name in any part of time. This was all I needed. Of course as I thought this it hit me.
“You want to what?” Elysif asked in bewilderment.
“I want to go forward in time and ask future versions of yourselves where the murder occurred if ther was one. If not I repeat the process until I can come up with something.”
“That sounds easy enough. It might be our best bet even.”
“Well, it’s not that easy. I still don’t entirely understand how to travel though certain increments in time. I deduced that when I escaped I only traveled an hour ahead at most. To add to that, when I did travel I had no control over the activation. Last time my watch got destroyed and that triggered it. I don’t know whether I have to destroy another watch or if I can just do it on command now.”

“Well can’t you ask your power… Tim?” Elysif asked.
“Yes, but Tim isn’t exactly the poster child of helpfulness. He’s more like a mosquito bite, you know it’s there and you want it gone but all it ever does is itch.”
“So you’ll just be shooting in the dark until you figure it out?” Scott asked.
“Pretty much.”
“Why don’t you try thinking about what caused the activation?”
“I would rather not.”
“No, I mean the watch getting shattered. If that’s the catalyst then maybe you mentally recreate that?”
“I’ll try but I don’t know how it’s gonna work.” I said closing my eyes and picturing my wristwatch as it was cut in two by the cleaver. Nothing happened.
Maybe I need to be desperate. I thought about being tortured, the knife being raised up before being slammed down on a body part. I started to feel dizzy like I was experiencing a flash of light and I was terrified. My mind shifted for a second and a similar sensation to that of being turned to dust came over me. I opened my eyes to see that the room was different. No, it wasn’t different. Scott and Elysif had moved, that was all. “Did it work?”
“Well, yes and no.” Scott said.
“You disappeared for about a minute then came back.”
“Well now I know how to activate it.” I said with an unenthusiastic smile.
“It’s a start.”
I wanted to ask Tim how to get the timing right but the more I thought about it the more I realized I couldn’t trust that kid. This was all a game to him. Toying with my life and making me suffer for some kind of twisted pleasure. I knew nothing about him and couldn’t trust the information that I would be given. For now, I would try it without him.

Yora Chronicles
[Arc 0 - The Prologue] Airen and Yuelei Casteya - Two twins separated in act of revenge not of their own doing. One is sent to the frozen north, where she is adopted by a frost phoenix and taught to survive in the harshest of conditions, eventually meeting with the forces that govern nature itself. The other is sent to the southern deserts and is saved by a band of slaves-turned-raiders who take him in as one of their own, where he eventually came into contact with a being that calls herself the History Eater. The two sought power and the forces of the world would soon listen, but not without their own aspirations. And perhaps if the two were to meet again, they would be so warped by their own hands and would not even recognize the other. [Arc 1 - Disciple of the History Eater & Knighthood] Under the guidance of Fieluri, the whimsical being from the Archive, Airen moves south to the Red Slate Republic to attend Stonewall Military Academy. There, he finds himself wrapped up in the History Eater's ploys, and at the same time, learns of the somber side of society in the slave-driven republic. Eventually, under Fieluri's instruction, he descends into the depths of dungeons where he eventually reunites with an old acquaintance. Yuelei, who has grown used to living in the snowy mountains, moves north to the Holy Land of Ecclisa to attend the Royal Knight Academy. After Lin leaves, she slowly adapts to living with humans again, but not without ceaseless caution. The thinly-veiled peace is eventually broken, for the monsters that haunted the nights in the Whitefrost Mountains are returning once more. My Girlfriend, the Necromancer
The power of the Orb cleaves the skies and shatters the earth. It heralds the advent of a new era, one where humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain and we must rise to the challenge when faced with our own extinction as a species. I could hardly care less. All I ever wanted was to love my Allie, to grow old and wrinkly by her side as I held her hand before taking my last breath on this green earth. To have our love echo through the ages, an ode to the last great love story on the planet, one that would endure the end of humanity, the breaking of the world, and even defy the dread summons of Death itself. It’s said that when the gods unleash their fury upon mortal kind, they grant their wishes. Well, crap. This is a gritty end of the world survival story with modern fantasy/romance/game-like elements in it. The main focus will be character development while stats and menus are there as a fun vehicle to empower the imagination. This is a work in progress and I deeply appreciate any helpful suggestions, so please don't be shy with input! Currently posting at least one chapter per week.

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities. Notes: (30.06.2021) - I have re-edited and revised the following chapters up to Chapter 24. - Changed the Title from Earth AA to Tellus Stirs.
