《Divine Empress of Chaos》Chapter 23

Her mind flashed back to the previous trial as she recalled the images she saw inside his mirror. Although, she had not heard the conversations from within, she could still make reasonable conjectures based on their interactions and body language. Comparing the woman inside the mirror, she noticed the lady who abandoned the infant had a striking resemblance to concubine Huli!
Yu Liang’s eyes narrowed dangerously as she gritted her teeth in anger. That vile, disgraceful fox! Not only did concubine Huli abandon her baby son in favor of another, but she was also repulsive enough to cast a demonic curse on her brother! Unforgivable!
She should have chopped off all nine of her wicked tails when she had the chance! But Yu Liang knew better than anyone, that she wouldn’t get the opportunity again because the only reason it was successful in the first place was due to her element of surprise and the fact that her opponents had underestimated her. Now, she no longer held that advantage.
She shot a worried glance at her brother, but what she witnessed had her rooted to the ground in shock. What was happening? That thing aroun—… Before her thoughts were completed, she felt a sharp pain pierced through her heart. Something sweet and pungent caught in her throat as she coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Lowering her lashes, a refined purple begonia flower hairpin was lodged straight in her heart. As if it was unsatisfied with the results, it drilled deeper and barbed deeply into her flesh. Where the hell did the hairpin come from? She really wanted to ask, but when she tried, only blood gushed outward.
Around her, the world started spinning and her head felt dizzy. Her visions began to fade and before darkness claimed her, all she heard was a loud primitive growl, so savage and filled with agony, that she wanted nothing more than to reach out and calm the distressed soul, but the strength left her body and her world turned pitch black.

Huo Wei Hu felt his legs lost its strength as his figure blinked and reappeared beside Yu Liang. Weakly, he crouched before her and ardently held the precious woman in his arms. With pent up anger and resentment, he forcefully used spiritual energy to remove the purple begonia hairpin out before ferociously snapping it in half.
An anguished wail echoed from the purple begonia hairpin before it transformed back into Guardian Yin Mei, her body twisted dreadfully in half from the waist down.
He cast a nervous gaze at Yu Liang’s white porcelain skin; her clear face had turned deadly paled. Unspeakable remorse and unimaginable sorrow filled his eyes. His throat grew tight and dry as unbridled panic raced through his cold heart. On the verge of hysteria, his dilated pupils were crazed and berserk as his body shook violently.
His visions hazed over with moisture, as rain poured down on Yu Liang’s face. Was he the one responsible for these dew of raindrops?
Involuntarily tears encased those originally ice-cold, arrogant, obsidian eyes. First time in hundreds of years, the Immortal Emperor of Chaos shed hot unrestrained tears. Not even the time when his mother had left him, was a single drop reserved for the woman who birthed him.
No! No! I refused to lose her! My Yu Liang, my empress! This king searched the whole world for you! I won’t let you go, I refused to let you go, even if I have to fight against the nine heavens or battle the king of hell! I’d drag your very soul back from the depths of hell if I have to!
On the sideline, how could Huo Jiu and concubine Huli let this chance go? Guardian Yin Mei had taken them all by surprised. It was hard not to applaud her for having such strong patience, to bid her time and waited until everyone was too focus on the fight to allocate any attention on her.

No one had expected a deity to be bold enough to directly harm a human either. The difference between deities and demons was that heavenly immortals were forbidden to harm humans while demons were not restricted by such taboo, but in the end, it worked in their favor and only fools would allowed such a good chance go to waste.
His actions had affirmed her importance in Huo Wei Hu’s heart; for the legendary infamous nine-tailed fox had invested his real feelings for a mortal. What a disappointment! Emotions will only become your weakness!
Now the brat was too distracted by the dying human girl. This was their prefect moment! Together, they released jets of magical water lasers and ice blades imbued with dark spiritual energy toward Huo Wei Hu. A hair breath away from reaching him, a wall of flame erupted from the ground and absorbed their attacks, consolidating their dark energy and claiming them as its own.
An overbearing and domineering aura expanded outward from Huo Wei Hu. He went into a defensive stance, casting a fire shield around them as he held the woman protectively in his arms, ensuring Yu Liang would remain safe inside his flame bubble before he fully released his tyrannical pressure. Everyone outside the flame shield, felt crushed under its strength, like their very life was being squeezed out of them.
This was the aura of an Immortal Emperor of Chaos! A true king!
Was he holding back his true power this whole time because of the girl? Afraid a human may not be able to tolerate the immense pressure?
Angry flames flared before him, fused with the spiritual attacks they launched at him earlier. The crystallized icicle formed frosty spikes within the fire and the demonic water fused together with the flames like a tornado. It gave birth to a wild cyclone of flame hurricane, swirling viciously and spiked with crystallized iced diamonds.
The huge mass of force engulfed his enemies before forming huge pyre scythes that mercilessly shred off all their sacred fox tails. Shrieking wails of torment could be heard from within the cyclone of flame hurricane.
The sound was ghastly and horrendous, but the condition of the mother and son was far more gruesome. Their faces were beyond recognition and nine spots of infected open wounds from their tailbone had pus oozing from the flesh.
This was far from enough! Huo Wei Hu’s dark eyes were feral with lust for vengeance. Retrieving a brass wu lou bottle gourd from within his spatial ring, he sealed all three of them, Huo Jiu, concubine Huli and Guardian Yin Mei inside. The brass bottle gourd was engraved with ancient symbols and the intricate designs embossed on the gourd seemed to hold mysterious power.
Inside the brass wu lou bottle gourd, the three captives were suffering inhumane torture. Thick, heavy fire chains, laced with frosty, crystallized diamond icicles bounded their limbs with their arms and legs spread wide apart.
The raging cyclone of flame hurricane whipped their bones and flesh continuously, while the scorching chains seared their skin. Hot burning embers scaled their soles and the dark symbols on them began to rampage within their demonic body.
The mother and son were hopeless against the assault. The legendary secret demonic manual, the heirloom they so painfully coveted and stolen, were now spiraling out of control.

Thaellis A Kingdom Down Under
A kingdom down under, once it had prospered, expanded, built, and conquered until all that they thought of worth was theirs. Peace ruled for a time the people absorbed in their own self-satisfaction. But eventually, old urges returned. Conquest called, though this time there was no outside outlet to turn it towards. So in ages so long and distant the memories most couldn’t recall, the kingdom turned upon itself. War raged for many years, no one coming close to being considered a victor, it appeared that this self-destruction would go on till nothing was left. Many if given the chance would have claimed that would have been a mercy for this kingdom and its people. For as they killed, and butchered each other over things they already had. Vibrations traveled through rock and stone guiding things best left alone. Creatures came things of horror armed to the teeth with claws, fangs, and armor. Cities fell and were consumed not even the bones of individuals remained, for these creatures hunger knew no limits, had no end. The kingdom rallied together once more, what was left, they fought and fought but their Nightmare had no end. Their greatest, brightest minds worked their magic, carved into stone. Wards they called them, this would keep their Nightmares away. They abandoned attempts to fight and focused on walling every surface of the kingdom with these Wards. It worked mostly, an illusion of peace returned, one that crumbled often, but it was better than before, it was a bearable hell now. So here we start our story as ages have passed for a walled-off kingdom, hunted by a never-ending Nightmare. With a poor but deserving soul born into this world.

[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance?
