《Divine Empress of Chaos》Chapter 19

A slow smile formed at the corner of my lips. Pagoda… you seemed to be holding a lot of secrets in your belly! This Lord had received your pleasant surprise.
This abnormality, what else could it be beside the tribulation lightning? To think I would skipped so many level of breakthroughs and progressed instantly to the Immortal Emperor of Chaos Stage! If I survived this lightning calamity, I would become the chaos monarch of all demons, including divine and magical beasts in all three realms!
Under my tyrannical rule, who dares to not respect my human empress and kowtow under her feet?
Lightning tribulation only occurred on those who have cultivated to a heaven-defying level of practice. Such high levels of godly cultivation was against the Will of Heaven; thus they must endure punishments from above — a heavenly trial sent to oppress cultivators from immortal ascension.
Those who succeed could ultimately transcend, but those who failed to pass the disaster would die and have their bodies destroyed. Demons and beasts feared divine lightning the most as they are inherently weak against them; in fact, it was the biggest nemesis of the dark races.
But who was Huo Wei Hu? Such fears were preposterous! As if such a mundane task could prevent this lord from getting what I want.
The hazy sky turned dark as huge thunderstorm clouds gathered and clumped together in preparation for the electrostatic discharge. Lightning flashed in the gloomy clouds as the sky rumbled in warning.
I quickly sat cross-legged on the ground, entering into a deep state of mediation. My whole body emitted a glowing light of orange and reddish flame, covering every inch of me. The flame membrane expanded to create a fiery dome shield, waiting to protect me from the impending tribulation lightning.
Boom!
Boom!
Zaps after zaps of mighty thunderbolts struck down at me violently, but the dome shield was unyielding even under the force of those extraordinary, powerful bolts of lightning. Huge streaks of lightning chopped down at me, one after another, without any pause in between. The dome shield made from the eternal flames of my spiritual energy continued to resist the barrages of tribulation lightning.

As if the nine heavens were outraged, the dark night ripped apart as the hot lightning lit up the sky. Potent, and fierce, the thunder came slamming down, but to no avail. My fiery dome shield remained impenetrable.
But, not everything was…impervious. The discharged bolts of thunder pulverized the mirror world, shattering the dimension into charred debris.
Huo Wei Hu opened his eyes. His face calm and tranquil, nothing like the man who underwent divine tribulation mere seconds ago. Not just any ordinary lightning tribulation, but six hundred and sixty-six heavenly thunderbolts! Genius? No, even the Gods would label him as a catastrophic monster!
For heaven to send him such a welcoming gift, his immortal breakthrough must have been truly against nature. A devilish grin sported his handsome face. Perhaps, as the new Immortal Emperor of Chaos, he should send them a gift of his own…
His nose picked up a sweet, honey scent and with long powerful strides, he ventured toward the direction of his human woman. Little did the heavens know, they had avoided a great disaster all because of the distraction of a mere mortal woman!
Upon seeing her nervous and jittery reaction, so unlike her usual self after she blurted out the question, he was almost unable to control himself.
God! They seriously needed to get the hell out of here and get marry! She was simply too cute!
He reached out a hand and lifted her delicate pale chin. Two shimmering clear eyes bored into his. With an affectionate gaze, he slanted his head and claimed her lips, oblivious of Yu Tian standing next to them awkwardly. More accurately, he simply chose to ignore the kid. All he cared about at the moment was her soft, kissable lips.
“Wife, I have dedicated a life time ahead of us to talk about every trivial thing, but let’s escape this place first. I’m almost at my limit.” His voice was strained as he reluctantly released her lips to control the desire lurking within him. “Let’s get marry once we bid the pagoda farewell.”

Two round red spots formed brightly on her cheeks, her entire neck flushed. His earnest declaration had left Yu Liang speechless. She dropped her head in embarrassment, unable to meet his gaze. A sonorous chuckle sounded next to her ear, deep and rich. She trembled as a familiar ache spread through her body.
This kind of throbbing was the same as what she had experienced in one of their previous trial—When Huo Wei Hu and her were locked together inside a room dosed with the forbidden heavenly powder of euphoria. Except this time, there were no forbidden drugs, or potions. This was completely all her, raw and naked with a burning desire for him.
As if he had sensed the change in her erratic breathing, he tightly clutched her shoulders. When he spoke, his words were painstakingly articulated, as if speaking was an immense effort.
“Not. Here. We. Get. The. Hell. Out. And. You. Marry. Me. First.” His words were carefully spaced with pauses in between as he spoke through his clenched teeth.
Yu Liang’s face bloomed many shades darker. She nodded her head as her brother was still there with them. The poor kid’s ears had turned as bright as tomatoes, desperately averting his eyes away from them. Doing anything more in front of her innocent brother would be truly inappropriate.
Accepting the hand Huo Wei Hu held out to her, she followed him toward the activated transportation seal as she dragged her little red tomato brother along.
On their way, she saw someone familiar. It was Da Niu! The ox was currently stilled trapped inside the glass walls. Within his mirror world, was another beast man who looked oddly similar to a pig. He was clearly having difficulty with his trial if the large holes in his clothes stained with blood was anything to go by. With one glance, she could tell there was a long history between the two.
But none of this was of any concern to Yu Liang’s and none of them stopped in their footsteps to help. She was neither a saint nor a heroine of justice. She was a selfish woman. She would only lend out her aid if it was beneficial to her. Otherwise, even if all three realms were to burn to ashes and the worlds collapse beneath her feet, she wouldn’t give a damn as long as it doesn’t affect those she loved.
In this chaotic world, only two names surfaced. Yu Tian and Huo Wei Hu.
The life debt she owed the ox had been repaid when she offered him a free ride through the fifth trial of the cloud staircase, safely delivering him to the sixth trial. She had no incentive to place herself in the face of danger to save the ox. This personal trial was also something he must go through himself.
Perhaps, in another thousand years or so, if this pagoda still exists, the ox would finally be able to break free from the mirror dimension, or another heroic soul might rush in to rescue him. Maybe, he won’t even make it that far and would perish here today with the mirror world as his tomb.
Either way, none of that had anything to do with her. Slowly, she turned her head away and continued proudly forward with the only two males in her life that she cared about.
